Chapter 9: I Wasn't Meant To Follow You On Your Date

Ruby was ignoring me for the past few days. She never ignore me, even when we fight, she always forgives me. So why hasn't she forgive me yet? I tried to apologise to her and tried to apologise at her house but her father didn't let me and told me she wasn't ready to talk to me which made me mad. How can she do this to me? Can't she see I'm just looking out for her? I even waited for her after school and offer to take her home but she refused every time which made us argue.

Maybe because she been spending time with that guy, Marcus. I can't believe that bastard took away my Ruby. She's my friend and no one else. I need to protect her from him, from everyone. So I've been following Ruby for the past few days. I followed her everywhere and I'm mean everywhere. The school, when she goes to the shop, hanging out with friends and at home. I watch her every night by her bedroom window even when it's raining outside, I still watch her through the window but I made sure that she doesn't see me during that time. I know what I'm doing looks and sounds stalkish but I have to follow her to make sure I'm there when she needs me. That's what friends do, right? She is my best friend after all and I'll do anything to protect her, even if I have to handcuff her to make her safe.

So now I'm waiting for Ruby outside of school and hoping today she'll accept my apologies and let me take her home. I got her favourite cupcake, knowing that she couldn't resist it. The bell rang and everyone was starting to come out. I was on look out for Ruby. It didn't took long for her to come out.

"Ruby, over here" I shouted over to her, waving my hand to get her attention and for her to come over. She turned round to face me, with a scold on her face. I'm guessing she hasn't forgiven me yet but I know it won't last long cause she has a kind heart and she'll come back to me. She walked over to me, looking annoyed.

"I haven't forgiven you yet. I'm still mad at you" Ruby stated simply.

"Well not for long cause I got you something" I said sincerely and handed her the cupcake but she didn't take it from me. Ruby just looked at it, unimpressed.

"Thanks for the offer but I already had my dose of cupcake for the day" she said plainly and started to walk off. Before she could go any further, I grabbed her arm and made her turn round to face me.

"Ruby please. Take the cupcake for my apologies" I said softly.

"I don't want it" she said bluntly. When does she refuse cupcakes? This is not like her.

"Why not?" I asked concerned and feeling hurt. She's always accepted cupcakes from me and forgives me straight away.

"Cause if I accept it then it means I've forgiven you and I haven't forgiven you yet" she said simply.

"Well at least let me take you home" just suggested. Hoping she accept.

"No thank you. I've already have someone taking me home" she stated simply.

"Can you please let me go?" She asked tiredly. That's when I heard someone calling Ruby. I looked up to find that it was that asshole calling her. Ruby turned round and waved at him with a smile. I was mad.

"It's him isn't it? He's the one taking you home?" I gritted out.

"Yes, Marcus is who's taking me home. Now if you excuse me, I don't want to keep him waiting" she said sternly. She pulled her arm out of my grip and walked over to him. I saw that she got into his car and him smiling at her. Once he was he went over to his side, I watch them drive off the campus. I was ferocious. How dare he take my Ruby away from me. He will pay for this. I'll make sure he'll suffer. So threw away the cupcake, got into the car and followed them. It didn't take long for them to arrive at Ruby's house. Ruby didn't come out the car straight away. That bastard is stopping her to leave. What is he saying to her? After a moment of them talking, Ruby got out of the car and got into the house. I watched that bastard drove off and soon as he was gone from eye view, I got out of my car and went around the house and watched Ruby from her window, making sure she can't see me. I just want to make sure that she's ok and safe. I'll just watch her until she's go to sleep.

It's Saturday evening now and I've been watching Ruby all night. I know I told myself I'll leave once Ruby go to sleep but I couldn't risk leaving her. What if something happens in the middle of the night and I'm not there to protect her. I know her father is there and make sure that nothing would happen to her but it's good that there be more than one person looking out for her.

Right now I'm watching Ruby getting ready to go out. She's dressed like she's going on a date. Who's she going out with? It must be that asshole Marcus. He's always hanging around Ruby like a bed smell. He needs to stay away from her cause she's to precious to be with him but luckily she got me to look out for her. I'll make sure no one taking advantage of her. That's how much I care about her.

It looks like that she's leaving. I better go in my car before she's notice me, so I ran in my car, that was parked in one of the alleyways, jumped in. I saw that douchebag's car parked outside Ruby's house. I got out the car and knocked on the door. It only took a few seconds until the front door opened. It was Ruby's dad. He was eyeing him up, he doesn't look impressed. I guess I'm not the only one who's not impressed by him, good. I saw Ruby coming out soon after. It looked like she was scolding her dad. Maybe because she doesn't like the way he was treating that asshole. She's too caring, that's is why I'm here.

Ruby said her goodbyes and went into the car. Marcus went over his side and drove off, me following behind them. It didn't take to go to their destination. There was going to the theatre and they walked in as I followed them.

After bribing the ticket clerk to tell me what movie is Ruby watching and what screen she'll be in, I took a seat at the opposite end of them at the back row. I didn't pay to much attention to the movie, I was more focusing on them, being all cosy with one an other. It makes me mad that he's touching her. He need to take his filthy hands off Ruby. No man deserves to touch her. So I just watched them. It was two hours the movie finished and during that time, I kept my eyes on Ruby and Marcus.

After they left the theatre, I followed them to a twenty-four hours diner. Seriously? He took her to a diner? Couldn't he taking her to a five star restaurant? That's what Ruby deserves, not a cheap diner. What a cheap skate. I watched them go inside the diner and sitting by a booth. I watched them in my car cause I didn't want to risk being caught. It's been about an hour and a half they have been in the diner and they finally came out. Is he going to take Ruby home now? Cause it's late and she needs to be home, where it's safe. I noticed that Ruby was about to open the door when that asshole stopped her and pinned her against the door which gave her a fright. That bastard. How dare he scare her like that. I'm going to kill him for touching her. To my horror, I watched him kiss her and it looks like he was enjoying it. I gripped my steering wheel so hard that I almost bend it. I had so much rage in me that I feel like I could explode at any moment.

It only took a about a minute of them kissed but felt like eternity for me and to my surprise, Ruby kissed him back. It looked like she was enjoying it, then they broke apart and he was leaning his head on hers. He's getting to close for my liking. I don't know what he's saying to her but what ever it was, it put a smile on her face. He opened the door for her and helped her in, then he jumped in to his side and sped off. I put my car into drive and followed them. Marcus drove Ruby back to her house, finally, and parked outside. I thought she would come out of the car straight away but she stayed. God damn it Ruby, get put of the car and get in the house. Why ain't you leaving already? They were talking and the next thing I knew they started kissing again. I shouted ferociously and slammed my hands on the dash board multiple times. Taking my frustration on it.

That was the last straw. I had enough seeing them kissing each other so I got out of my car and marched straight to passenger's side and banged on the window. Ruby screamed and turned round to face me. However, that asshole Marcus just looked pissed. I'm guessing he didn't like me interrupt him kissing Ruby but I didn't give two shits. My main concern was Ruby. She looked shocked that I was here but don't know why? Then she looked annoyed and pissed off. I guess we're going to have a fight.
