It had been a while since that night at Eric's and what was said was pushed to the back of my mind. I only had two months or so left with Eric before he finished high school for good and went off to college. We hadn't spoken about that yet, nor did I want to address it either. Things went on pretty normal, Eric and I went out a lot (even though he seemed a bit more cooler with me than usual), I went out with friends, school was busy, everything was the way it typically was- one could describe it as boring, but a nice boring.
One Saturday evening, I texted Eric to ask if he wanted to do something but he took quite a while to reply which was unusual.
Eric: Sorry Flo, I'm busy. I can't.
Hmm, okay then, I thought and called Charlotte.
