Chapter 15
Time passed, and the boys were about to be awarded their A.A. degrees. Each was surprised to have made it that far. Lisa wanted them to go on to a four-year college and get that degree, but they were ready to get out in the world and get jobs. Besides, they felt guilty having Lisa and Dio pay for it. A four-year college is a lot more expensive than the community college.
They ate dinner at home for their weekly family meal. Lisa and the boys cooked. Joel felt free and relaxed and enjoyed the teamwork.
Dio played in the garden and garage. They made lasagna, a huge green salad with beans and a slew of veggies and sliced cheeses. Ken made a low-sugar dark chocolate cake with copious amounts of cranberries and blueberries. Joel barbequed teriyaki-marinated steaks.
