Chapter 14 With the end of the school term, the guys had more time on their hands. Carrying a packed lunch, they spent the day bicycling around San Jose. Riding side-by-side, Ken stole glances at Joel while trying to keep his eyes on the road. “Joel, I got an email from Danielle with some pics. She likes it down there but says she misses us.” Joel smiled. “She is so special. I like her.” “Did you love her?” He shook his head. “No, but I know you did.” Ken sighed. “I love you, too, and it’s different than the way I feel about her.
