THEON’S POV
As far as I don’t want to take it as a waste of time, it was really a waste of time. I come all the way here to look for a mermaid who saved my life but at the end of the day I didn’t meet her. I am so angry and disappointed at myself. Something however tells me that I should have gone earlier maybe I would have found her and we would have managed to talk over everything.
But again, it is not that much loss for I got to learn of many things about mermaids and that was not a waste of time. So technically, mermaids are ruled by kings and queens. They also have the council of elders who make the rules. Their leadership is inherited, it is passed from father to the first son. In the past, if the mermaids have had bad persons as their leader and they end you having the worst times of their lives till they die. The worst king makes them slaves and punishes the wrongdoers by placing them out of the water and allowing the scorching sun to dry their tails. This s**t really hurts based on how they have explained it in the book.
The good king makes them live in perfect harmony. They say that a good leader has some seen identity from the forefathers and that mark is a gift they will not run away from for it is always in them and gives them the desire to lead. They are supposed to lead the mermaids well and if they fail to do that, they will be handing the mermaids to bad leaders who do not possess the mark of leadership by the forefathers and that will result to their extinction over time.
“I hope you enjoyed your stay here,” Tessa told me when she dropped me at the airport.
“I did,” I had to lie about that.
“Have you talked to Tyler or heard from him?” I don’t know why I brought that up but I did.
“My source says that he is working in your place, as the boss, and the business is really going down.” She groaned.
“Please don’t say you are going to kill him because I know there is where you are headed now,” I told her and noticed her lips trembling in furry.
“Do something real quick, you owe everyone that,” She prattled.
“Okay sis, I will miss you,” I scoffed pulling her into a warm embrace.
“I will miss you too dear.” I said playing with her hair.
“I love you brother. Please say hi to my sister in law Tiffany,” She added.
“I will,” I etched a smile and saw her drive off.
After she was gone, I blew several breaths before I headed in the departure section. It was a chilly morning and it made me feel kind of low. I am always doing good deeds. Now that I failed to do this one good deed to the mermaid made me hurt like hell.
I slept entirely throughout the journey and it was a relief when I got to my destination. I hadn’t told Tiffany I was coming because she was so pissed at me. She expected me to be home three days ago but I didn’t show up. All that time, I was at the shore, waiting on the mermaids.
By the time I got to the house, it was around five in the evening. I took a warm shower to calm my nerves before I changed to comfy cloths. I observed time doing all this because I wanted to cook dinner and surprise her when she comes home from work.
I went to the grocery store down the street and bought beef, Irish potatoes and rice. I was going to prepare stewed beef, roasted potato and boiled rice. This was her favorite food and I hoped that she would love it. I didn’t fail to buy a bottle of wine, we needed that tonight more than any other time.
By six thirty, everything was ready and I went ahead to set the table just in time before she walks in through the door and ruins the surprise. I had approximated the time well for this is the time she usually comes home from work.
I sat by the coach as she walked in very weary and shoved her heels in the air. She sat on the small coach just by the door and blew breath several breaths after also throwing her handbag on the table.
“Baby is so tired,” I commented and that is when she go t to learn of my presence.
“Don’t talk to me, I am not talking to you either,” She said with an edge in her tone and walked upstairs to stay away from me.
I had to follow her and beg her to forgive me. She was my woman and if we did not talk all day I could just literally fall sick or maybe die.
“Tiff I am sorry, you know how Tessa is,” I spoke by the bathroom door keyhole now that she had locked herself up to shower.
“You have a wife now. I understand you guys are best of friends or sisters, whatever, and you have known each other for an eternity. You don’t have to slap it in my face,” She complained and I chuckled.
“I love you Tiffany. I love you baby,” I shouted loudly and I could hear her laughing.
“Please open the door, I want to release all those stress you have built inside you,” I tattled.
“I swear Theon, if you make me feel that way again, I will not open this door for you,” She mumbled and opened the door.
She turned me on immediately and the next thing I did was removing my cloths. She made model pauses in the bathtub as she waited for me and in a couple of minutes, we were feeling ecstatic as we had our equal share of orgasm. It is really good to be alive.
“Hey, let us go downstairs, dinner is ready,” I reminded her after the both of us got dressed.
“You mean you prepared dinner?” She arched her eyebrows up in confusion.
“What is a better way to ask you for forgiveness other than cook your best meal?” I jested and she gave me a peck on my cheek.
“Please don’t leave too soon.” She added.
“Okay baby. I won’t leave you.” I gave her my word as we took opposite positions by the dinner table.
“Don’t tell me you added Vinegar to the stew. It is so…” She complained after taking a bite of the dish.
“Ups! I will make better food next time.” I added.
“So what will we fill our stomach with?” She asked.
“Dress up baby, we are going out,” I announced and she couldn’t hide her excitement as she went upstairs to dress up for me.
She ended wearing a red velvet dress that reached her mid-thigh. She paired that up with brown flats and I knew it meant one thing, we were going for a dance. We ate at our favorite Irish restaurant and after that we went to a night club. We danced and she grinded me till I couldn’t take it any longer. With the both of us having so much to drink, we ended up making out in our car.
After that, we drove home for we were so tired and we needed plenty of rest.
The next morning, I woke up before her. She a looking so adorable, the sleeping beauty kind of adorable as she slept with the sun rays hitting her face through the grey curtains. She squinted a bit but that was just it. A few locks of raven black hair had fallen over her sleeping face. I reached down to tug the black strands and I received a moan protest from her.
I t was on a Saturday morning and she was not reporting to work thus I allowed her to rest. I took her phone and scrolled through her texts to see if there was someone hitting on her. It was good that I found no one else trying to get her, or else…
I was carried away with the internet looking at peoples post on i********: when I suddenly come across the breaking news.
“A SHIP CARRYING CRUDE OIL HAS JUST CAPSIZED IN THE INDIAN OCEAN RELEASING ALL ITS CONTENTS IN THE OCEAN. THE MARINE PLANTS AND MOST FISH WILL DIE BECAUSE OF LACK OF OXYGEN SUPPLY,”
The news left my heart beating relentlessly fast. All I thought of was Genesis. I wanted to save Genesis just like the way she saved me.
With haste, I started packing up my bags. Unfortunately, I dropped the bedside candle holder and I officially woke up Tiffany.
“What the hell!” She groaned trying to open her eyes.
“Nothing,” I snorted.
“Nothing and you are packing your bags.” She was now fully awake.
“I have to go and see Tessa,” I blurted out.
“Why, is everything alright?” She implored.
“Yes, I mean no.”
“What is up? Talk to me,” She begged.
“I have to go, please understand that,” I started raising my voice on her.
“You know what, if you are going, then I come coming with you.” She prattled.
“No you have work to do and I don’t want to interfere with that.” I added.
“It is on a weekend, have you forgotten that already?”
“I have to go Tiffany. I am so sorry.”
