Joe’s P.O.V
I was getting prepared for the third class of the day, meaning Amaya was going to be here soon. Well if she shows, I don’t know if I overstepped with her in first class this morning. I was flirting with her…teasing her on purpose and I know I shouldn’t have done that but I couldn’t help myself. I promised myself I would behave, not go down but when she walked into my class this morning she looked gorgeous and those shorts too…she looked good in them. A part of me was feeling guilty for doing it but another part of me enjoyed it. I decided it would best that this class I behaved. I was messing with my phone as I waited for class to start…for my student’s to arrive. It was music History class, not my favorite to teach but it was part of the course and someone had to do it. My phone beeped in my hand, a text message coming through…Amaya’s name attached to it. I wouldn’t be surprised if this was her telling me she wouldn’t be coming to class.
Amaya: Are you going to behave in this class? Lol X
I will take the LOL at the end as her not being too angry at me for what I done in first class.
Joe: That depends…do you want me to behave? X
And would you look at that, I am heading back into flirt mode.
Amaya: Yes! In class as least ha-ha X
Does that mean I don’t need to behave outside of class? I don’t know what is going on with me, I am not this sort of guy, I have never looked at a student this way…never even thought about it and then Amaya shows up and all of that goes out of the window? This is f****d up.
Joe: And out of class? *smirks* X
Yet it would seem even knowing this is f****d up it doesn’t seem to be making a difference. How did I go from staying away from her to flirting with her in twenty-four hours? I swear it was that phone call we shared last night.
Amaya: We will see ;) X
I went to text back but before I had a chance I hear a familiar giggle coming from my classroom door, making me look up. Amaya was standing against the door frame, smirking at me. Has she been there the whole time we have been texting?
“How long have you been standing there?” I laughed
“A few minutes, the whole time while we were texting.” She laughed
“And what you couldn’t say what you had to say to my face?” I asked
“Nope! Was more fun this way.” She said winking at me
“You said I was to behave in class…should be the same rule for you.” I smirked
Amaya shrugged, laughing and headed over, taking a seat at the front. Her always sitting right at the front in my eye-line is not helping matter for me. I laughed, shaking my head as I looked at her.
“You started this remember…not me.” She said smugly
I agreed with her, there was no point in denying it when we both know it is the truth. The conversation came to a halt as other students started coming in. I said hello, smiling at them all as they came in, getting seated and once there were all here I started the lesson.
“Well as you all know this is Music History, all I want you do to do is pick your favourite kind of music and do some research on it, take some notes and then write a five hundred word essay for next class…but the catch it? Not using the internet, instead I want you do use books, workbooks, and information sheets and ask questions.” I said
There was a few groans of complains but most seemed OK with it.
“I will be around to talk to you all one by one, find out what you have choose and don’t be afraid to ask me anything OK?” I smiled
The classroom had a lot of the information they needed but a few went to the library. I like to try get my students to research other ways without the internet, makes it more of a challenge for them all.
****
I had made my way around most of my students, the ones that stayed in class, seeing if I could help but most of them were doing fine. I decided to go down to where Amaya was, see how she was getting on. I leant over her shoulder
“How you getting on Amaya?” I asked making her look up at me
“Fine Sir.” She said, a small smirk playing on her lips when she called me Sir
I swallowed hard, there was something um…sexy about her calling me that.
“Please do not call me that?” I whispered
“Why? Does it get to you?” She whispered back
Thankfully there was no one in close proximity to us to hear what we were saying. I moved from behind her, leaning down next to her, scanning over what she had already wrote.
“Country music?” He asked
“Yes couldn’t pick between that and the blues.” She smiled at me
“You like the blues music?” I asked surprised, not many people her age do
“Yes I was brought up with that, rock and Country.” She said
“That is incredible…they are my favourite too.” I smiled
“Well you have good taste…” she said winking at me
“That I do…” I said smirking
I was not very sure if we were still talking about music or something else but I never minded either way, liked talking back and forth with her like this. I read some more of the notes she had written down.
“How do you expect me to work with you leaning over me?” She said turning her head to face me
She was that close I could reach in and kiss her, well if we were somewhere more private and not in the middle of my classroom.
“Why am I distracting you Amaya?” I said
“Yes, now go away…” She whispered, followed by a small giggle
“Only if you agree to meet me later for a coffee?” I said
I may as well try my luck. Amaya rolled her eyes at me.
“We will see…I will text you.” She said
I guess that is better than her saying no outright. I decided it would be best if I did move away from her, can’t seem like I am giving her extra time or people may start talking. I told her OK, heading back down to my desk, the lesson nearly done anyway…the students who went away coming back in. I was hoping she would agree to meet me later but if she says no then I would understand that too.
The lesson came to an end, everyone packing up and heading out, Amaya giving me wink on her way out. I smirked, resting back in my chair. This really is a bad idea but I think it may be a little too later for me to change it. I was sitting thinking about when a text came through on my phone again…Amaya. I opened it quickly, curious on what she was saying since she only left my class.
Amaya: I can do coffee…where? X
Joe: Meet me at the place we first had coffee that is open until nine anyway. I will get you there at seven? X
Amaya: OK. See you then X
At least that way I knew no one would see us and there wouldn’t be a chance of us getting caught. I honestly don’t know what I was doing or what I want to happen but one thing I do know is I really wanna find out.
