"Yeah, I draw the line at the love of my life."

Work was busy for the raven-haired girl, she barely had a moment to glance over at her group of friends. As expected, Megan had gone ahead and invited their small friend group along to catch-up and Whitney could only hope that her boss didn’t pay any attention to the underage patrons in the establishment.  That, however, didn’t deter her co-workers from paying extra attention to the group of girls. Needless to say, they were all jaw-droppingly gorgeous, Whitney could definitely stand by that, so they were sure to draw attention. And a couple of her co-workers she’d even consider introducing, but the male-gazed some of them were receiving from men far too old for them had her a little on edge.  Her eyes drifted over to Megan’s loud chuckle and watched as she hugged Hazel close to her, the blonde barely expecting the gesture and looking very much like she was struggling for air before Megan reluctantly released her, receiving a hefty slap on the arm. Hazel’s honey-brown eyes found Whitney’s observant gaze and the raven-haired girl could see the plea for help in her friend’s eyes. Whitney shook her head slowly, telling Hazel that she was on her own for this one.  The green-eyed girl’s attention was quickly snatched by her partner making her way over to the bar, earning her a nudge from Jett, her more harmless co-worker. “Hey hot barkeep.” Sienna spoke low and seductively. “Jesus,” Jett groaned, tossing his arm over Whitney’s shoulder. “You know it’s cruel that your girlfriend is not only hot as hell but also so f*****g cool, right?” “You’re telling me,” Whitney scoffed as she raised a brow at the girl in question. “Sometimes she’ll whisper the dirtiest thing in my ear and then just...go home.” “You’re the living embodiment of evil.” Jett pointed at Sienna playfully before leaving the pair to serve another customer. “Hurry up and finish work,” Sienna leaned on the counter just enough to give Whitney something to ogle at and people behind her to fantasize about later. “I’ve had one too many drinks and you’re looking too good.” “You must hate me tonight, I’m sure of it.” Whitney ran a hand through her hair before looking to Jett. “Hey, cover for me, need to make sure this one doesn’t decorate the bar with what she’d had for dinner.” Before the brunette boy could protest, Whitney had already rounded the bar and latched onto her girlfriend’s arm, dragging her to the nearest restroom.  As soon as the door closed behind them, Whitney had Sienna pushed up against it, instructing the older girl to jump and catching her legs only for them to be wrapped around her waist. Their lips meeting messily and hungrily, fingers getting lost in one another’s hair and a fire so alive between them that it always left Whitney wondering if it would extinguish over time. She was sure there was no way. Not when after years, kissing Sienna still felt as magical as the first time. Whitney felt one of Sienna’s hands begin to travel lower and lower until they were playing with the hem of her pants and only then did she stop her girlfriend. “You’re not f*****g me in the restroom of my workplace.” She pulled back just enough to speak only for Sienna to close the gap between their lips once again. “Stay over tonight?” “Yes.” Sienna needed no convincing, releasing a heavy sigh and letting her legs drop down so Whitney could take a step back. “You have no idea how much I’ve been wanting to do that since I walked in.” “Look at you,” Whitney smirked as she looked her girlfriend up and down. “Jett was practically drooling the moment he saw you. Took everything in me not to kiss you and show everyone you’re off the table.” She stepped forward and began flattening Sienna’s hair down. “You look like I just f****d you into next week.” “I wish you did.” The older girl scoffed, helping her girlfriend out by taming her hair as best she could. “Hopefully that will hold me over for a while.” “Get Meg to stay at Nia’s tonight, okay?” “Done.” Sienna reached behind her, offered her girlfriend one last sultry look and then slipped out wordlessly, leaving Whitney to take a moment to collect herself before following behind her. She walked a little faster to catch up to Sienna just as the older girl was about to reach the table. Whitney grabbed for her girlfriend’s hand, pulled her to her and pressed a kiss to the older girl’s cheek before backing away and heading over to the bar again. “She feeling better?” Jett smirked, brow raised and a tease in his voice. “Much.” Whitney looked to her nearest customer and took their order, feeling Sienna’s heated gaze settled on her. Megan, ever the observant friend, nudged her fellow brunette and arched a brow. “Tell me you didn’t have s*x in that janky bathroom.” She spoke loud enough to the two other girls sitting with them to hear. “Thanks for that,” Sienna rolled her eyes, meeting her friends’ eyes. “No, we didn’t f**k in a restroom. But,” She smirked over to Nia. “Can that annoyance stay at your place tonight?”  The red-haired girl groaned in frustration, looking over at Megan and catching a small frown settled on her forehead before turning back to Sienna. “You owe me.” “I could just stay in a hotel, God, why do I even come back here? All you guys do is insult me.” “With what money?” Sienna rolled her eyes. “I’m glad you’re here, Tiny.” Hazel hugged the youngest brunette to her lovingly. “Even if you drool in your sleep.” “Can I stay at your house instead?” Megan gave the blonde her best puppy dog eyes.  “No can do,” Hazel shook her head quickly. “Quenton’s picking me up from here and I’m head back to his place.” “I was f*****g around, Meggy,” Nia blew her youngest friend a kiss. “I’m happy to have you. I’ve actually missed you a whole lot.” “Tomorrow we’re all spending the day together and no one is allowed to come up with an excuse, I leave in a couple of days.” Megan declared, sending Hazel a threatening glare because she always had something planned with her boyfriend. “Hey, don’t look at me,” The blonde put her hands up defensively. “Talk to Romina and Juliet over there.” She gestured to Sienna and Whitney making her way over to the group. The raven-haired girl grabbed a spare chair from a neighbouring table and with her front pressed to its back beside her girlfriend. “What are we gossiping about?” She arched a brow, leaning in and pressing a kiss to Sienna’s neck, nibbling lightly and causing the older girl to squirm a little. “That,” Megan rolled her eyes. “You two are insatiable. I swear, you cannot get enough of each other.” “Have you seen how hot we both are?” Whitney crossed her arms over the back of the chair and let her chin rest on them. “Can’t blame us.” “Still mad you two wouldn’t even consider a trio deal.” Megan frowned, crossing her own arms and sitting back. “We used to share everything, me and you.” She gestured between herself and Whitney. “Yeah, I draw the line at the love of my life.” “You’ve changed.” “Shut up.” “Megan has a plan for us all for tomorrow, so no bailing.” Hazel looked between the coupled pair. “We don’t bail.” Whitney scoffed. “My birthday.” “We were just late.” The raven-haired girl rolled her eyes. “Si put that dress on and, I mean, I had to take it off her because...have you seen her in a tight red dress?” “You couldn’t wait until after?” The blonde deadpanned. “Did I mention it was Sienna in a tight red dress?” Whitney asked as if she wasn’t being heard. “So what’s the plan?” Sienna jumped in before the pair went off on a tangent. “Beach day.” “I’m down.” Nia instantly agreed. “Obviously I won’t be giving up an opportunity for a tan.” Hazel scoffed. “We’ll be there.” Sienna spoke up before Whitney had a chance to chime in with a snarky comment. “How are you not drunk?” Whitney eyed the array of empty glasses in front of her best friend. “You used to get a whiff of alcohol and get tipsy from it.” “I’m a cyborg from a galaxy far, far away. Alcohol does not have an effect on us greater beings.” “I stand corrected,” Whitney waved off her friend’s foolishness. “You’re wasted.” “No, you’re right, she’s not.” Sienna chimed in. “She’s been the sober one tonight and I’m pretty sure she’s drank the most.” “Maybe I’ve just built up my tolerance.” Megan rolled her eyes, grabbing for the nearest shot on the table and slamming it back without so much as flinching. “See? Seasoned professional at this point.” “Maybe not something to brag about,” A hint of concern had entered Whitney’s tone as their eyes locked but Megan simply smiled though it never quite met her eyes. “You guys ready to get out of here?” “Yeah, Q will be here soon to get me.” “We’ll wait for you.” Nia linked her arm with her blonde friend as they stood from the table. Sienna, though trying with all her might, couldn’t stop the sway as she lifted herself up and Whitney was quick to wrap her arm around her girlfriend to steady her, casting a glance over to Megan but finding the girl firm as a rock as she stood.  “Always my hero.” Sienna leaned into the raven-haired girl, breathing her in and effectively drawing her attention away from the younger brunette. “And don’t you forget it.” Whitney pressed a kiss to the side of Sienna’s head, leading the group out as she waved to co-workers.  “He’s, like, five minutes away.” Hazel assured the group, she was sure they were all ready to get to bed.  “It’s cold out,” Nia commented, a chill running down her spine.  “Here,” Megan shrugged off her jacket and handed it over. “I think I’m a little more used to the cold than you guys.” “Thanks.” “What’s going on?” Whitney narrowed her eyes suspiciously at her best friend. “You’re so much less annoying than usual. Are you sick? f**k, did someone tell you you were cool? I knew I should’ve warned all your new friends that you’d take that to heart.” “First of all, I am the coolest,” The youngest brunette stuck her tongue out at the green-eyed girl. “Second, maybe this is just the new me. I’m just chill and alternative and rocking that Devil-may-care attitude you flaunt around all the time.” “Shut up, you’re none of those things,” Whitney scoffed, watching as Quenton’s car pulled up to pick up his girlfriend. “You’re a nuisance, you talk in your sleep and you still believe in shooting spitballs.” “They’re the perfect weapon. They’re easy to disguise and every single person I know would run away from a spitball.” “I’m gonna go before they really get into it.” Hazel looked between Sienna and Nia. “Thanks for the night out, we should make it a regular thing.” “We’d get Whitney fired.” Nia chuckled lightly. “Even better, she’d actually be able to hang out with us for once.” “Shut up and go have your heterofying sex.” Whitney waved off the blonde, watching as she slipped into the passenger seat of the familiar car before leading their little group over to Sienna’s car. “You know, you guys don’t always have to rely on my girlfriend to drive.” She looked to Nia. “You have a car.” “I offered.” Sienna detached herself from her girlfriend so she could slip into the passenger seat. “And what if I decided I wouldn’t drive tonight?” Whitney arched a brow. “Then I would be very sad and you would do it anyways.” The oldest brunette smiled up at her favourite person before the raven-haired girl closed the door and rounded the car to slip in beside her. “You’re so f*****g lucky I’m in love with you.” The green-eyed girl eyed the girl beside her. “I really am.” Sienna agreed, turning her head completely to focus on the girl in the driver’s seat.  The drive to Nia’s house wasn’t long but it was filled with bickering between Whitney and Megan, Sienna chiming in every now and then and Nia simply watching on at how normal all this was between the trio.  When the car came to stop outside of her house, she was more than a little relieved to slip out of it and usher Megan to do the same before Whitney lunged for her.  The green-eyed girl made sure to watch as the two girls made their way to the house, ever the protective best friend. And despite their bickering, Megan still turned around when she got to the front door to wave a goodbye to the raven-haired girl, mouthing a ‘I love you’ before slipping into the house.  Silence followed her departure from the car and Whitney let herself indulge in the tranquility of it. Sienna’s eyes were closed so she could only assume that her girlfriend was fast asleep and that meant their plans had almost definitely been postponed for another night. Though, nevertheless, she always loved waking up to Sienna in the mornings so she would never complain about whether or not they’d participated in some strenuous activities the night before. “You know,” Sienna spoke sleepily, her eyes droopy as she blinked away the sleep in stubbornness. She was looking directly at Whitney as she spoke. “I wish you’d love me as much as you love her.”
