CHAPTER 8 – I am sorry

Tyler’s POV

As soon as the word hit restricted area my boy shivered. I threw my bag to Nethan to catch and I ran towards the area. One or two times I was about to tripped and fell but luckily I managed it. I went towards looking her.

“Caroline, Caroline. Where are you?” I called her name. But there’s no sign of her.

I thought to keep looking for her. Huge walls and dark corridor is an ideal place for a murder! I don’t know why this area is restricted to go. It’s another secret!

I heard someone’s bare voice from the corner of the corridor. I quicken my footsteps. There she is lay on the floor and forwarding her arm to my side. I ran to her.

“Caroline are you alright?” looks like she has breathing problems. I mentally cursed Nethan “F**k you Nethan”. I helped her to stand up but she collapsed on my arms.

I don’t have a choice so I picked her up in my arms in bridal style and quickly came out from that dark place.

I came to the emergency treatment room and lay her on the bed. I patted her cheeks but she is not responding.

“Nurse Can you please look at her” I called the school nurse. She came running towards me.

“What happened Tyler?” nurse asks with a worried face.

“I don’t know. I met her at the restricted area and then she collapsed on my arms. ” I said.

“Restricted area? What the hell was she doing in the restricted area?” nurse’s eyes went widen.

“Ummm we played a prank with her.” I have to admit it; I can’t tell Nethan did this. Anyway I am the bad boy. Why would I give that credit to anyone else?

“There you are Tyler. This time it won’t be easy for you. I’ll call the doctor” nurse went inside and I am looking at her.

I am amazed about myself that why I became such a good boy when dealing with her. It’s like I need to protect her, I feel that it’s my responsibility.

“Tyler, we have to check her. Can you wait outside?” doctor said and I came out.

Nethan came to me.

“I told you not to do any pranks with her, but still you played and her life is in danger now” I pulled from Nethan’s collar and shook him.

“Ty easy man, we did this to others many time, but no one was on a critical condition. I thought she will be also all right” Nethan said.

“She is unconscious now. Doctor is checking her” I said and doctor came out.

“Looks like she had a panic attack. Seems like, she is afraid to dark places. She might be having Nyctophobia. Within few minutes she will be all right. Bu I have to report this to Principal Tyler. This is a serious issue” doctor said I nodded.

“Nethan, you go to the class. I admit it that I did a prank with her.” I said to Nethan.

“Tyler I am sorry man. I’ll admit it” Nethan must be feeling guilty now.

“It’s OK. You go to the class before principal come here” I patted his back and he went towards the class rooms with his head down.

Nurse came out.

“She is back to her consciousness. You can see her if you want” I nodded and went inside.  

I saw she lays on the bed.

“How do you feel now” my voice is deep and calm.

“Ummm feeling better now. You saved me right?” she asks while blinking.

“It doesn’t matter. But why did you faint?” I ask while keeping my hands in my hoody jacket.

“I have Nyctophobia, I am afraid to dark.” She said. I nodded my head.

“Sorry for what Nethan did with you.” Tyler Gilbert asks sorry for the first time in life. What is wrong with me man? Why I feel like I have to be a servant to her.

“It’s OK. I hope everyone here is looking at me with a different aspect. Thank you for saving me” she said with a faint smile on her face.

“That’s nothing” wooh man.

“By the way, did you hear the snarling and growling sound from that closed door of the restricted area?” she asks.

“What sound? I didn’t hear anything” I am sure that I didn’t hear anything.

“I heard a creature snarling and growling sound from that door. Then the loud thud, it’s like that creature is going to crush the door and come out. I was afraid that it will eat me” she says and sighed.

“You may be hallucinated. Sometimes it happened when our brain stops working and the oxygen supply weaken for the brain the hallucinating happens” I said to her.

“But I am 100% sure that I heard it. Before that even I had Nyctophobia few times, but this hallucinating never happened.” She speaks with a question look.

“May be this is a new place and your first time in the H city high school, so everything is more than you expected” I said to calm herself.

“May be. I don’t know and I don’t want to think about it” as soon as she finish doctor came in.

“So Caroline. How are you now?” doctor checks the pulse and blood pressure.

“Seems like OK doctor. Thanks for the caring” she said with a smile. Her smile is genuine, not like other fake b*****s here.

“I think I should go now” I said and turn to go.

“Wait, I don’t know your name. I couldn’t ask it” she said.

“You don’t know who he is?” doctor asks with a surprise look.

“Mmmm no” she nodded her head in no manner.

“He is Tyler Gilbert, Mayor’s son and school bully!”

“What?” she said and gulps.

I sighed and came out.
