Chapter 05: La Familia
‘Who could that be?’ he wondered. He was smiling at his child as he kissed the head of it. “Mom will just open the door, Baby,” he said. It was a strange and bizarre feeling to Elliot as he stood up, heading to the door. His guts tell him not to open the door. He wished there was a peephole on his door.
Curiosity killed the cat as Elliot let out a heavy sigh and opened the door.
“Good Evening---” he didn’t finish his words as the view in front of him scared him. The muzzle of the gun was pointing straight in his forehead. His body trembled. A muscular man was pointing the gun at him. As he roamed his eyes, there were four of them who had the same body as him.
Elliot was about to speak until someone came out from the muscular guy and went in front of him. He was shaking in anger as he saw who it is. “Lovely evening, Love,” he said as he kissed Elliot’s lips. A smirked form on his lips as he saw how helpless and hopeless the poor Elliot was. “Mind if I come?” he mocked.
“What the hell is this, Tomás,” he asked in a quivering voice.
Tomás grabbed a cigar in his pocket, and someone from his guards lit it up for him. He blew the smoke to Elliot’s face causing him to cough. “Playing innocent, are we?” he said. “So, this is the poor and cheap apartment you got for our son. I see. So low-class like your boyfriend, Bryan, isn’t it, huh?” a playful smile plastered on his lips.
“Bryan is not my boyfriend---” he inserted.
“A fuckbuddy. Friends with benefits. Like that, Elliot?” he asked while grinning at him. “Tone down your voice, Tomás. Hugo might hear you speaking those ill words,” he warned.
“For the record, I was and never will be like you, Tomás. Don’t compare me to you. I may be cheap and poor, at least I can hold on to my dignity---” Tomás inserted.
“Dignity that I have pounded countless of times. I impregnated you because you take care of your dignity well. You hold tight of it. I see,” Tomás mocked as he loved to see Elliot being defeated and crushed by him. It was his way to express how he truly felt for him. If words can’t tell, then your actions will. But in this case, his actions seem off and different from the word I love you.
Elliot feels so low at this point. Being the fragile and emotional Elliot, tears flowed in his eyes. “I am begging you, Tomás, please. Exclude my son from you. I am willing to do anything you like, just don’t. Don’t come close to my son,” small sobs eluded from his mouth.
Little did he know that the more he became weak and fragile in front of him, Tomás feel more power and dominance around him. A slight masochist he is. Tomás then grabbed the gun away from his bodyguard as he takes it over. He placed it next to Elliot’s heart.
“Bring me to our son and introduce me nicely, or I will kill you in front of him,” Tomás threatened, but he knew deep inside his heart he doesn’t want him to die because Tomás needed Elliot. “I brought presents for him. I just wanted to see him, Elliot. Stop crying now, or Imma bleed your ass,” he threatened. Tomás stared hard at him. He missed Elliot so much.
The way he cares for him, the way how he loves him, and the way how he droves his manhood.
“Baby,” Elliot called the kid. Hugo looked at his Mom and the person behind him. Elliot kneeled, leveling his son’s height.
“A friend of mine wanted to see you and greet you a happy birthday,” he said. Hugo stared at his Mom’s eyes as it was bloodshot. “You cried,” he said. His Mom shook his head and faked a beaming smile. “No, I’m not,” he lied. “I yawned hard. That’s why my eyes turned teary red,” Elliot then fake a yawn to make his lies convincing.
Hugo nodded his head and looked at the man behind his Mom. The man was familiar to him. “Hey! You were the strange guy last night! But now you’re not because you are friends with my, Mom!” the cheerful voice of the kid made Tomás smile. Never in his life, he felt so happy and complete. Now that he sees his little him.
Tomás came forward and opened his arms. “Can I receive a hug from you, Baby?” he said. Hugo looked at his Mom, asking for confirmation. Elliot smiled and tilted his head. The kid rushed running with giggles to the man who wore an expensive suit.
And there, Tomás felt an adrenaline rush. He cried for the first time in a long time, and he never felt this complete and happy. “Hugo, baby,” he whispered. Elliot covered his mouth, suppressing the sob from coming out.
It made Tomás heart move that finally, his son met his father, but he was also afraid of its consequences. Hugo hugged the man tightly as the kid feels comfort and safeness around him.
“Daddy,” he said. It made Elliot and Tomás shocked.
“You are a Daddy, aren’t you, Mister? May I know your name, please,” a slight of hope glistened around Elliot’s heart as the kid took back his words. But on Tomás, he was sad and disappointed. The kid almost recognized him as his father. Eventually, it was just his thought. Hugo let go of the hug, and so does Tomás.
“Ye-Yes, I am a Dad now,” but what Tomás wanted to say is that ‘I am your Dad,’ but he was not ready to reveal his identity in front of the kid. Something inside him tells him not to, for now. “Are the two of you crying,” the kid spoke as he keeps an eye on his Mom and the man in front of him.
“I am not crying, Baby,” said Elliot. “Anyway,” said Tomás getting the attention of his son. “I am Tomás. Tomás Rodriguez,” offering his hand to the kid in front of him and smile widely. “Nice to meet you, Mr. Rodriguez. I am Hugo. Hugo Barnes” said the kid as they shake hands.
“You can call me Daddy Tomás if you’d like to or Daddy. Whatever suits you is fine for me,” he said. Before the kid could even answer Tomás, Elliot inserted.
“M-Mr. Rodriguez would be fine. Right, Hugo?” he said. And yet, the kid had already decided how he would address the man in front of him.
“Daddy would be fine also,”
