REIGN OF MAGIC: The last sorcerers.

CHAPTER 2.

After they had concluded on that aspect, Ned asked, "Who else has a vision which he would like to share with us?"

And Craig answered, "I have something which I want to share with us. It may be related to the vision which Demi saw."

"Okay go ahead, tell us this vision of yours." Pero said to Craig.

"It is not a vision, rather it is more like a prophecy." Craig responded.

"Does it have anything to do with the dark lord Kees?" Ned asked Craig.

"How did you know that it has to do with the dark lord Kees?" Craig replied with a question.

"Just call it a lucky guess." Ned said.

"Go ahead, tell us what the prophecy says." Demi said to Craig.

"The prophecy which I received said that the dark lord Kees would return with his mistress Verona and together they will wage war against the empire once again and this time it would not be like the former war, because they are coming back with a force greater than all our powers put together and none of us would be able to stop them this time instead we will join forces with them and any who joins with them will never return to being a white magicians except the dark lord is defeated and before the dark lord would be defeated, all who follow he will surely die." Craig said. "But…"

"But there is hope for the empire." Ned took over the statement from Craig's lips. "A young wizard will be born amongst us and he shall be the last of our kind, possessing great powers that none has ever had and none will ever have. He shall be the one to save the empire from the wrath of dark lord Kees so we all need to remain steadfast in following good or we will be victims of this war."

After Ned finished the prophecy, Craig was so surprised that he had to ask Ned. "How did you get to know of this prophecy? I did not tell you about it."

"Yes you did not reveal it to me but that same spirit which told of these things had also told me of it and that was the main reason why I called for this gathering." Ned answered.

"So tell us, is there any other thing which you want us to know?" Pero asked Ned.l

"Well there is one more thing which I want to tell you all, which is, we all need to work together in order to find this savour of ours and help him accomplish his destiny." Ned said.

"In that case, we need to put our heads together to ensure that immediately this child is born, we are going to take him and bring him up, we are also going to start training him right from his childhood so that by the time he becomes a wizard, he must have known all which he needs to know about casting a spell." Demi said in support of Ned's words.

But Elda asked, "Since we are talking about the return of dark lord Kees, his mistress Verona and the wizard who will save us from his wrath, does it mean that the vision of our sister Demi will not come to pass?"

"It will definitely come to pass." Ned answered her.

"How is it to come to pass when we are talking about the broth of a savour?" Elda asked again.

"All these things which we have spoken of shall be because mare men will have to take over the mantle of leadership before the dark lord will be defeated for good. Mare men are to lead us to this victory and not we ourselves, although we are the ones to give them this victory." Ned said.

"A sorcerer from our clan is going to grant us this victory to be more straightforward." Craig said.

"The reason why I said we are the ones to give them this victory is because without our help, the last sorcerer would not complete the purpose why he is sent to this world." Ned clarified them.

"In that case, we need to keep our eyes open so as to protect the child right from his birth." Demi said.

"That aside, since you said that this empire would be governed by only mere men in some generations to come, and we are the ones to select those who would not be blinded by power, so I am asking, when do we appoint these men for leadership?" Pero said to Ned.

"They shall be chosen soon, but it will be by the people. The people shall first of all select those whom they see worthy to rule them and out of the selected ones, we shall appoint those who would possess the attributes which we desire." Ned said.

"And what if none of the selected people have these attributes which we seek?" Craig asked.

"There is no way we would not be able to find men with good qualities out of the selected few of the people." Pero answered.

"There is nothing impossible." Craig said.

"Yes it is very much possible that their selected men would not have the qualities we need." Ned said.

"And if this is the case, what shall we do?" Pero asked.

"Let us hope that the people will make wise choices." Elda said.

"That is what we should be hoping for." Ned agreed.

So Demi suggested, "Since the people are not supposed to make wrong choices of a leader, why not we make use of our people to influence their selections?"

"No that is not an option, we are going to do no such thing." Ned said.

"Doing such a thing is the same as using our powers for an unjust course." Craig added.

"That would definitely make us no different from the dark lord and his followers." Elda further added.

"They will make their decisions without any interference with their minds." Pero said.

"It was only a suggestion but since you have kicked against it, it would definitely not be used." Demi promised.

"So what is going to be our next action based on these things which we have discussed?" Pero asked.

"Like I said earlier, we shall keep watch to protect the child immediately after he is born and in the same vein we will spread the news round about the seven cities of the empire." Ned said.

"Please tell us which of the news are we to being to the knowledge of the people?" Demi asked.

And Elda emphasized more on the question. "Are we to tell the people of this prophecy, or about them taking over the mantle of leadership?"

"We will be telling them of both because they need to know what is about to befall them. Also we shall tell them to several noble men for each of the cities and from them, we shall choose for them a leader in their various cities and also a general ruler who would be the emperor of the empire." Ned said to them and then the gathering was dismissed as they left to spread the news throughout the empire and also wait for the birth of their savior.
