Chapter FourteenCydney strode into the camp as dawn broke and cast its weak rays over the sleeping occupants. She’d slept through the rain and woken stiff but somehow dry. The stiffness had eased as she’d stretched and begun to walk with a surprising spring in her step. She felt strong and vital but hunger gnawed at her stomach, making her irritable. The previous night’s rain took everyone by surprise and left the camp in a sodden mess. She found Jeb shivering by a sputtering fire, which he tried to k****e using the last of the over-proof rum.
