Chapter 6
All she felt was pain. So much pain. There wasn’t a part of her that didn’t hurt. The bullets to the chest were the worst but the vest had prevented any of them from going through and killing her. not that she was appreciative at the moment. She had to get out of the building. It was wired to explode any minute. She wasn’t ready to die. Not without seeing this asshole behind bars first. She rolled onto her stomach and saw the opening of the warehouse fifty feet in front of her.
Get up. She told herself.
She made it onto her knees before finally to her feet. Her knees felt wobbly but she locked them together. Life or death. One step at a time. she made it two steps before white hot crippling pain dropped her to her knees. She wasn’t going to make it. She was going to die in thi
