CHAPTER 25 - PRESENT TIME

1290 Words
It was just a simple calling card, but that calling card changed her perspective on life. The man helped her a lot to move on from Zac's betrayal. Richard was the only person who willingly helped her pick up the pieces of her broken heart until she slowly fell in love with the man. He was kind and cute at the same time. For several weeks they had been talking on the phone, meeting secretly with her bodyguard's help, she was sure that whatever she felt for Zac before was just an infatuation. It was temporary and, over time, she forgot about him...and their friendship as well. He dared to choose another woman? A new comer? So be it! She was not the type of person to grovel or beg for his attention. No! Never! Zac could f**k anyone he wanted, and she would do the same! Lucas Rodriguez advised her not to date anyone in order to prevent losing her virginity by mistake. As if she could do anything about dating while being unable to leave the house without a bodyguard. At the very least, her phone was not seized, and she was able to communicate with her new boyfriend. Richard became aware of his predicament and offered to assist, but she had been waiting for several days and nothing happened. Richard recommended that she go with the flow, and that he would be waiting outside the building to take her when her father was least expecting it. Sheena was excited about the prospect of eloping together. She convinced everyone inside Royal that she had no intention of leaving by occupying herself in the kitchen. Lucas Rodriguez believed she was learning to cook for Sebastian, but unbeknownst to him, she had a culinary degree. She pretended to be studying the fundamentals of cookery and baking. The fact was that she waited for the ideal moment to summon Richard and rescue her from Lucas Rodriguez's clutches. Naturally, she would be powerless without Cielo's support. Her father was summoned to an emergency meeting at around 11:00 a.m. Sheena worried at the prospect of leaving while wearing a filthy apron and untidy hair. She was unable, however, to return to her room and change into something more fitting. She recovered the backpack she had carefully concealed in the kitchen, which included her vital documents such as money, identity cards, and her passport. Richard pledged to assist, and she wholeheartedly believed him. Her disorganized look aided in fooling several guards, and only Cielo recognized Sheena as she exited the building. She moved as calmly as she could towards Richard's blue automobile, but the deafening pounding of her heart nearly deafened her! She was able to breathe normally again only after entering her boyfriend's automobile. "I'm sorry if I look like this," she said as she brushed a dab of flour and cocoa powder on her face. As she locked her gaze on the man behind the wheel, she made the decision to go all-in with him. Richard gave a genuine grin to Sheena, his emotions torn between kinship and passion. Each time he and Sheena had a tranquil stroll in the park or an intimate supper at their favorite hangout, he began to experience unpleasant sensations in his heart. Sheena had placed her faith in him, and he felt awful about having to breach that trust so soon! He desired to save her, but how could he do it while also saving his mother's second husband? "You must be hungry," he murmured as he took the wheel. "Certainly I am. "Thanks, baby," she said with genuine gratitude when he arrived, despite the fact that it took him over a month to fulfill his commitment to assisting her. Richard chuckled and took one of Sheena's hands in his. He rubbed it against his, and Richard was adamant about not letting her go. If only he had a choice! "Have you considered pizza?" He was convinced that pizza would be fantastic. "I enjoy pizza," she concurred. Richard drove to the nearest Yellow Cab and placed an order for their biggest Hawaiian. "Do you believe in me?" He locked his gaze on the woman's eyes, waiting for her reaction. "Yeah, sweetie, I trust you with my life." She returned her response. "Perfect," he remarked, but before he could expand, their pizza was ready for take-out, and Richard gratefully grabbed the gigantic box. "Let's go somewhere quiet," he murmured into her ear as they exited the pizza parlor. S-somewhere off-limits?" Sheena stammered as images of him and her alone and naked filled her mind. Is it possible that he is thinking the same thing as she is? Richard said, "Yes." Sheena has second thoughts as she considers the possibility of intimacy with him. She believed she was prepared, but she wasn't, and the prospect of doing it with Richard terrified her! She must, however, do it with him while she still has the chance! "If you so specify," she concurred. Richard felt remorseful about Sheena Rodriguez. To her father, she was only a pawn in the pursuit of his aspirations. Sebastian Miller regarded her as a toy! "I own a condo apartment nearby, but I was concerned that your father's thugs would discover us soon," he expressed concern for the woman's safety. "I'm concerned about that as well. I'm sure they've been looking for your automobile for some time now." Sheena mentioned an undisputed fact. Richard trusted Sheena's comments since she was the only one who truly knew her father. "Is that correct? "Hmmm," he observed the road ahead as he inspected it. Although there was a blind area, he couldn't simply ditch his vehicle. "Do you not have a hiding place?" He wondered because it would be disastrous for a lady to have no intentions whatsoever. "Cielo suggested I could use her house in the meantime, but I'm scared it would jeopardize her safety." She returned her response. "You are correct, darling, but you need to change your attire." Richard voiced an observation while casting a peek at her. "My clothing is in good condition. "It is only the apron that is filthy," she responded. "And I'm unable to go shopping at the moment," Sheena said. "On a related point, you may. Are you familiar with the MILLER Hotel? It includes boutiques that are open 24 hours a day," he explained. Sheena furrowed her brow, having never heard such an absurd offer from a motel! "Are you joking?" "Yes," Richard said, shaking his head incredulously. The woman was betrothed to one of the founder's sons, and yet she had no idea what was happening within the MILLER Hotel. However, he advised them to go to MILLER in order to avoid attracting suspicion. "No, I'm not going to MILLER." She declined to pay a visit out of dread of meeting her fiancé, who is most likely employed at the hotel. Sebastian's mother made reference to her son being out of the country, but she never believed it! Sebastian lied to his mother, which only increased her hatred towards him! Richard observed her scowl when the MILLER Hotel was mentioned, and he considered playing cupid. He grinned at the prospect of Sebastian Miller, the high and mighty, falling for Sheena Rodriguez. "I have a buddy who is in need of a cook," he explained. Initially, she assumed he was speaking to himself. "Is that a cook?" Are you recommending that I work as a chef in order to conceal my identity from my father?" Sheena inquired, perplexed by Richard's comments. For a brief while, she bit her bottom lip in an attempt to conceal her displeasure. To be honest, she anticipated eloping with him and traveling somewhere exotic!
