When I was done arranging everything and helping the head Omega, I went to the party ground to see what was going on. When I arrived, everyone was dancing and drinking, and those who had discovered their mates were being congratulated and praised. I looked around to see if I could find Jayden, but he wasn’t there, so I assumed he and his mate had gone to their room.

I turned around to leave when Luna Scarlett called out to me.

“Hello Damien, I hope you’re doing well, son? I didn’t see you at the coronation today. Why didn't you come?” She asked, a disappointed expression on her face.

“I apologize, Luna. There was a lot of work to be done, and I couldn’t leave my fellow Omegas to handle it alone, so I stayed behind to help. Please forgive me, Luna.” I apologized.

“I told you not to get your hands dirty any longer. You’re now a member of my family, so you act like one, is that clear?”

“Yes, Luna.”

“Good, I'm glad you understand. So, are you looking for Jayden?” she asked.

“Um, no, Luna, I was on my way home. My day was exhausting. I just wanted to check the situation here before heading home.”

She smiled at my response.

“You can go home and rest. Jayden has gone to the Alpha’s summit and will return tomorrow, so you can do whatever you want until then. Good night, son.” She bid me farewell.

Thanking her, I walked in the direction of my house. I knew that my parents would still be at the party, having a good time and that I would be home alone. All I wanted was to jump on my bed and get some rest because I have a meeting with Duke tomorrow to go over the assignment before the presentation. I silently prayed that he would have done everything exactly the way I wanted him to.

I was near Jayden’s safe house, where he usually went to avoid the distraction from friends, and also his parents, when I heard faint moaning sounds coming from it.

According to Luna Scarlett, Jayden was not around, and the only other person who had the key to the house was me.

Could it be that intruders broke into Jayden’s room to have s3x and mess up the place that Jayden holds dearly?

Based on what they were doing, it appeared that they were very familiar with each other and had probably already mated.

I had been dumb enough not to smell the pheromones of the intruders before walking in there, and now I couldn’t get the image of the Alpha’s nakedness out of my head.

The way Jayden looked at me was suspicious. I could see guilt in Jayden’s eyes, but I didn’t dwell on it, instead, I quickly apologized and ran out of the room and ran straight home.

My parents were unexpectedly home when I rushed in. I guess they were startled by the way I ran in. Ignoring the calls of my parents, I ran into my room and locked the door behind me. My heart beats faster than my normal heartbeat.

“My room,” I replied.

“Wait there, I’m coming to get you.”

“But it’s late, and we’re meeting tomorrow; don’t bother. We will talk things over tomorrow,” I didn’t want him moving around so late at night.

“Shut the fvck up and stay there, I’m coming to get you,” he yelled angrily before hanging up the phone.

I lay back on the bed, my mind replaying what I had done not long ago and how initiated I was by that action.

Three hours later, I heard a knock on the front door. I heard my parents greeting Duke and they talked about me for a whole while before hearing footsteps walking towards my room. I lay back and pretended to be fast asleep as soon as the door opened.

“I know you’re not sleeping, so grab your clothes for tomorrow, you are coming with me.”

I jumped out of bed at his command.

“It’s late,” I grumbled, “why don’t you just sleepover at my house?”

“No problem, if you want your parents to overhear what we’re talking about, then I can sleepover.”

“All right, fine you win. I’ll go get my things. Have you informed my parents that I’ll be going with you?”

“I have, so hurry up and let’s go.” he ordered.

I agreed with a nod of my head, then hurriedly packed some clothes for the night and my books also into my backpack. I said my goodbyes to my parents and followed him to his car, which he drove quietly to his house.

The Alpha’s children each had their own private house to themselves but all in the same compound but definitely not far from each other. I walked into his house after he opened the door and dropped my bag on the floor before sitting beside him on the couch.

“What mistake did you make?” As he drew me closer to him, he asked.

I told him everything that had happened, including what I had done in the bathroom. I wasn't scared or shy to tell him everything about me.

“Are you in love with him?”

I busted out laughing at his ridiculous question.

“You are joking, right? Because that has to be the best joke you’ve ever told in your entire life.” I laughed out loud, lightly hitting him, and when he didn’t react, I stopped laughing and stared at him, “you’re joking, right?”

“I’m not joking, so answer me. Are you in love with him?”

“Heck no! I'm not, I hate him so fvcking much that I want to hurt him so badly,” I said, clenching my fist.

“Then why does he turn you on?”

“I’m not sure. When I’m around him, I want to hit him, but at the same time, I’m so weak for some reason. A reason I have no idea about”

“Then keep a safe distance from him! I don’t want you getting close to him or spending time alone with him because if he discovers your feelings for him, he will exploit them.”

“Calm down, Duke, you know I’m not going to let that happen.”

“You’d better not, or I’ll forget about the truce and punch him in the face if he dares to touch you,” he warned.

“Ooooh, so scary,” I joked, “I'm going to bed. If you’re done getting angry, you should come join me. Sweet dreams,”

I stood up and entered his room. Once inside, I changed into my nightwear and lay down on his bed. Soon after, I heard him walk in and he lay next to me, drawing me closer to him.

I felt safe with Duke, I felt the world was at peace and there was nothing to be worried about. He was my safe haven.
