-Andrei P.O.V.-
Dola: Is this really smart? (my sister asks me through our mindlink)
Me: Yes, it is. The pack land will provide him with a safeness that he wouldn’t get if I took him somewhere else. This could help us move forward.
Dola: I understand that brother, but you haven’t even told mom or our dads about this. Hell, you haven’t even told Ma about this.
Me: Ma is the one who told me to go after my man so that is what I am going to do. (I snap)
Dola: Calm down. I don’t mean to upset you, but this is risky. How are you going to explain our land to him? How are you going to explain why we live the way we do? There is a lot to unpack here. (my twin tries to say in a calm voice to not anger me but I am already angry)
Me: I f**king understand that, twin. This is a risk I am willing to take so I can be close to my mate within the safety of our pack. Why are you questioning me so much? Do you not like him or something? (I ask her the last question with a bit of venom in my voice)
Dola: I have no ill feelings towards him.
Me: (I cut her off before she can say anything else) Then stop questioning me. I would back you up if you had a human mate and wanted to bring him to the pack land.
Dola: I apologize, brother.
I cut off the mind-link before she can say anything else as I do not want to listen to her. How dare she question me so damn much? What is her problem? I would not hesitate to back her up if the roles were reversed and she wanted to bring her human mate to the pack land. I don’t understand why she is so damn worried or why she feels the need to be so damn annoying. F**k.
“Andrei, are you even listening?” I hear the teacher ask me as I can hear the annoyance in her voice.
I snap my gaze up to her and smirk. “I am listening. I am always listening. Can you not tell?” I ask her as I tilt my head to the side.
I can see the smoke starting to come out of her ears. “Just pay attention.” She mutters before turning back and continuing on with her teaching.
She has learned the hard way that it is pointless to ask me questions or ‘try’ to call me out as I will not only answer their question but I will also go on to tell them some things that they have gotten wrong. Every single teacher in this school hates me and they know to leave me alone as I make 100’s on all of my tests and assignments. I mean they could try to send me to the principal's office but it is pointless. I also one-up him too. I honestly don't understand why any of these teachers give me sh*t as I make them look good.
2 hours later…
I wait a little bit before walking into the cafeteria as I am waiting for my mate. But of course, here comes my sister to ruin whatever good mood I had going. She stops in front of me and I just roll my eyes.
“What?” I ask her as I keep looking through the crowd.
She sighs. “I am sorry, brother. I had no right to question you the way I did.”
I just scoff. “Well you did, so there is no taking it back.”
“Please brother.”
I roll my eyes. “Fine. I accept your apology.”
She squeals before pulling me down a bit and kissing my cheek. I just smirk while trying to hide my smile. I love my sister so I cannot stay mad at her. I know she meant well, but it just pissed me off. Just when she lets me go, my handsome mate walks over to where we are with a blush on his face.
“Hey, how is your day going?” My twin asks my mate as she smiles widely at him.
“It is going okay.” He tells her but I don’t miss the nervous tone in his voice.
Dola doesn't miss my change in attitude as she just gives my mate a little frown before turning around and leaving. I walk up to my mate until I am right in front of him. I place my index finger on the bottom of his chin and lightly force him to look up at me.
“What is wrong?” I ask him softly.
I can see tears starting to form in his eyes before he quickly shakes his head while stepping out of my touch. “Can we go to your car to eat lunch?” He asks me shyly.
“Of course.” I say softly as I wrap an arm around his shoulders, leading him out of the school to my car.
About 5 minutes later, we made it to my car and I sat in the backseat as he did the same. I made sure to put my book-bag in the driver's seat as my mate put his book bag at his feet. He then moves his feet up and sits with his legs crossed. I moved slightly to the side as I let my right leg rest on the seat, making sure that I was facing him.
“What is going on?” I ask him.
My mate sighs before closing his eyes and resting his head on the back of the headrest. “I don’t know what this is between us, but I feel safe and nervous when I am around you…” I can hear how nervous he is when speaking. I hope to change that in the future. “I just...I hate school..”
My brows furrow together as I can tell that is not all that is bothering him. “What else is it? I can hear in your voice that there is something else.”
All of sudden tears start to fall down his cheeks causing me to freeze. Only for a second before I don’t think as I grab him and force him in my lap with his legs straddling me. I put a hand on his right hip as I put my other hand in his hair. I then lightly force his head in the crook of my neck as I just let him cry it out.
“I am sorry..” My mate hiccups as his crying dies down.
“Don’t apologize. Tell me what is wrong so I can fix it.” I tell him softly.
He finally pulls his head from the crook of my neck as he sits back a bit and wipes his face. I move both of my hands to his hips as I just rest them there. He soon sighs before looking at me.
“I would like to spend the weekend with you, but I don’t think I will be able to.”
I raise an eyebrow. “Why not?”
He sighs. “My step-dad...if he found out that I was going to someone's house then there would be hell to pay.”
I start to feel my anger rise as I can read between the lines. “What do you mean by that?”
“Just, I cannot spend the weekend with you.” He says with a sad voice.
I take in a breath before moving my hands a bit until I lift the sides of his shirt up a bit so I can touch his skin. He shivers once my fingers touch his skin. “Does your step-dad hit you?” I asked as calmly as I could. My mate avoids my eyes as he looks down and plays with his fingers. “I will not take no as an answer, so I will ask your step-dad for you.” I tell him with a hint of anger in my tone.
My mate snaps his gaze up to me and looks at me wide-eyed. “NO, you cannot do that.” He quickly says with fear in his voice.
I keep his gaze. “He will not hurt you with me around. I can promise you that.”
“Please, don’t. Just let me figure something out.” He says as he places his hands on my chest.
“No. I will walk with you and speak to your step-father personally. Trust me, I am good with parents.” I tell him in a convincing voice.
“I cannot let him see you or know who you are.” He whispers.
“Why?” I ask my mate softly as I shove my hands in his shirt and place my hands in the middle of his bare back.
