CHAPTER 30 VALEN As I sat in the fairly quiet restaurant, my laptop propped in front of me as I scrolled through my messages, my mind wandered. I still felt like there was something missing from this whole date. To be fair, it had gone well. Better than I thought it would, actually. I had anticipated that Soraya's presence would put me in a bit of a pickle, but nothing of the sort had happened. I could not exactly pinpoint what was wrong, or what was missing. I had never been one to spend quality time with a woman so this was all new and strange, and out of my character. But I was willing to try. Getting married meant spending the rest of my life with her, so I might as well do it right. I might as well learn to be accommodating and faithful to one woman, and I was determined to do so.
