Chapter 42: Stitching

1082 Words
The flickering of the dim lights does not frighten him. Principal Copper walked on the alley of flickering lights, at the building where Class Zero was imprisoned, on the part which was restricted to any of the students inside. It was him who suggested to his exclusive utility and maintenance workers to make this portion of the alley to be this kind of horrifying. Whenever he remembers there are students who attempted to explore this part of the building, but would just back out because it reminds them of various horror movies, he could not help himself but wickedly smile. Of course, he had done it in purpose. The laboratory found along this flickering in the darkness alley was the sole room that could be found in here. And, that room was important for him. Because in there, his most cared, golden treasures could be found. In the middle of his researching work, someone called from his phone. It was the last among the upper heads that he needs to talk; the last one whom he have to persuade to give him consent for another project that is highly connected to the main goal of the Project Zero. After two minutes, he had reached the end part of the dim alley. A dead-end. Grabbing a card from the pocket of his laboratory gown, he swiped it through a secret, hard to notice card slot. The music of unlocking codes swung through his ears, and on his front, he saw the opening of a secret small door. As he pass through it, there was a tunnel waiting for him. An underground tunnel that is connected from the building of project Zero, and towards the main campus of Josen High School. He passed through it. It took him two more minutes travelling underground. The end of the tunnel was a door. As he opened it, he was puked in an abandoned, isolated room. It was once a student’s room, but ever since the Project Zero has been commenced, he instructed the faculty to leave the room isolated. Because in there, he had built the only secret passage towards entering the building for Project Zero. “Took you exactly five minutes.” With the voice that erupted from the corner of the room, Principal Copper stood alerted. “Master Red,” he said. Giving an utmost respect, he bowed in front of Master Red. “Violet said you want to talk to me.” “Yes, Master. It was about the project proposal I have sent you in your email.” “I’ve read it.” Master Red offered a stick of mint-flavored cigarette towards Principal Copper. Having a well-calculated, polite rejection, he shook his head and raised his hands. “No, thank you, Master Red. I do not smoke.” Master Red closed the box of cigarettes, and tucked it inside his pocket. “Quite hard to smoke inside Project Zero building, you see?” “I can understand that, Master. But let me tell you that you can use your quarter if you are truly desiring to smoke. After all, we have not attached cameras inside for the sake of student’s privacy.” “No thanks for that,” Master Red said. “I don’t want my room smelling cigarette stench.” “That’s just the downside.” For few minutes, they have indulged themselves on the silence that was wafting on their spaces. It was not an awkward silence but a mutually shared comfort. “You see, the proposal you’ve sent, it’s interesting.” “Isn’t it? It was really, undeniably fascinating discovery I have made.” “And almost impossible,” added Master Red. “But not anymore.” Another silence. “Does that mean… it would happen?” Master Red asked. “I mean … she?” “She whom you can’t name?” Principal Copper joked. “Yes, she.” Principal Copper smiled, and looked at the door where he had came from awhile ago. “Yes, she might be. Will be.” From his peripheral vision, he saw Master Red smiled. “I can’t wait to see her.” “But we must find body for her first,” said Principal Copper. “Yes, I’ve read through it too. We need to find parts of her body that was highly identical to her.” “And stitch each of it to each other.” “Can that really be possible? Stitching fragmented bodies to each other and forming it into a new body? That’s highly odd. As if you’re just making a doll.” Principal Copper lowly laughed. “It’s not actually stitching it as if I am a sewer. It was just somehow similar to that, but with par different, par deeper concept. Somehow connected to molecular biology.” “Don’t give me that terms. I somehow had enough of that Buenavista’s mind.” “That professor is surely odd. But she’s handy. After all, I am the one who made her like that,” Principal Copper proudly said. “Sure, you can do anything. Knew that already.” With a sigh, Principal Copper started to stand straight, and planned to go back to his laboratory. “Very well, Master Red, I think I have to go back to my lab again. I left it open because I was in the middle of researching when you called.” “You haven’t even heard my answer yet.” Principal Copper smiled. “I already knew what your answer is.” With that, he turned his back to him, and started to walk back to the door leading to the underground tunnel. When he suddenly remembered something, that is the time that he looked back at the young master. “I forgot to tell you I already got a pair of feet for her.” “You what?” he asked, surprised. Principal Copper smirked. “A pair of feet. With toes, heels, soles, and even shanks.” “You mean, you got one that is identical to her?” Principal Copper nodded. “You’re a demon.” “I’m just a scientist,” said Principal Copper. “And I also found someone that is identical to her hands and fingers. I’m leaving it to you.” Master Red’s face turned serious. “Who’s the lucky woman? I’m willing to kill anyone just for her.” “Miss Violet,” Principal Copper said along with a blank, corpse-like gaze.
