Chapter - 07
After two days, the group was standing in front of something totally foreign to them. Most of them have only seen the red magma or the black clouds from the day they were born, but now they were standing in front of something totally different. They did not even know how to describe the various shades of colour they were seeing.
When the older ones saw the kids gawking on seeing the forest in front of them, they could only smile slightly. They were also like them when they came here for the first time, or even the next few times when they came here, they were not any less amazed.
They could go anywhere they like in this dimension, but in the direction of the land of Daemons, guards were placed at regular intervals to avoid anyone going in that direction. It was more like a diplomatic path which was to be used once every year.
The village of demons and the land of Daemons were on two different pieces of land connected by a long and narrow bridge made of rocks. On either side, flowed the magma while the bridge also acted as a partition between them. It was hard for anyone to sneak to the land of Daemons without being spotted by the guards.
The land of the Daemons was in a separate dimension, even in this dimension. They could enjoy the same environment they used to before being exiled here, but they could not leave this hell. They could come out of their forests and move around in the inferno like environment if they want to, but that is the most they could do. They can not leave this dimension to return to their home. So they avoided leaving their forest at all and lived in seclusion.
Erebus looked towards the forest and was the least surprised of the kids present. He has already seen the vast green forests, towering trees and the blue sky outside. He was more excited about the land of Daemon itself.
' What is he going to find there? '
' Will his Daemon be more powerful than Senz, his father's Daemon? '
' Will he meet some ancient Daemon there? '
Different thoughts emerged in his mind, he felt pressurised after each step he took.
Those who were assigned to escort the group here gave some time to them to take it all in. After some time when they thought it was enough and they should get to business now, one of them brought everyone's attention, to himself.
"Everyone, listen to me, I am sure you have seen enough of it now," The demon said bringing everyone's focus on himself, " We use to live in a world just like this long ago".
"Really?" Someone from the first-timers of the group asked.
"How many years ago?" Another one asked.
"How do you know?" Once again a voice rang out from the group.
"Yes, I am telling the truth. About three hundred years ago we used to live in a place just like this. That time I was about the same age as you are now. I don't have a very clear recollection of that time, but I could still remember the blue skies and the green forest very vividly". The demon from the escort group told the younger ones.
"Then why did we leave?" Some of them asked. Not every child knew about the war that took place all those years back.
"You will come to know about it gradually as you get old enough," the demon said, " Now the thing I want to tell you are the rules and some points you need to keep in mind".
All the kids looked intently towards the man not wanting to leave a single word from what he was going to say. The man chuckled seeing this, " There is no need for you to be so serious, just relax and listen".
After waiting for the group to settle down, one of the demons started reciting the rules, " Firstly, we call it the land of Daemons, but its real name is the 'Kingdom of Mythraj', they don’t like it when someone calls it the land of Daemons".
"Second, just like the clan leader said, when you meet those from the Daemon clan don’t be impolite. We just use to live along with other clans outside this hell, but they once lived among gods in Heaven. They are very prideful and mind it they also have immense strength to back their pride".
"Third, whatever the rules and regulations they tell you to follow, be sure to stick to them".
All of them nodded in agreement.
The man turned towards one of the other demons who came to escort them and gestured something to him. That demon nodded and went towards the direction of the forest.
Erebus could see two large golden apes standing on either side of a path, leading inside the forest. The apes were at least twice the size of the demon standing in front of them. It is to be noted that an average demon was at the very least, ten to twelve feet tall.
The demon talked to the apes for some time and gave them something which looked like some sort of a letter. One of the apes took the letter, whispered something in the ears of the other ape to which the latter nodded, and then vanished in the path leading inside the forest. The demon, after nodding to the ape, came back and joined the group.
"What did he say?" The leader of the escort team asked the demon who just came.
"He went inside with the letter. They need to get the permission of their elders first". The demon replied.
The head of the escort group nodded and turned towards the others, " We might need to wait for a while, so let’s just rest here", he said that and sat down on a rock nearby. Their body has adapted itself to endure the high temperatures now, so they don’t get affected much even when they sit on such hot rocks anymore.
Following the leader, all the others too grabbed hold of a rock and began to rest. The journey was tiring, to say the least in this environment. But even though they were tired most of those in the groups could not hide the smile from their faces, they were expectant of the journey ahead of them.
