Minella was quite tired when they were piped aboard a large Battleship that was waiting for them at one of the quays in the Harbour.
They were greeted by the Captain and introduced to a number of the Senior Officers.
Then he said,
“As I am anxious, my Lord, to set to sea immediately, I am sure you and her Ladyship would like to see your quarters.”
“Thank you, Captain,” the Earl replied. “We are both very tired and we look forward to a good night before we encounter the turmoils of the Bay of Biscay.”
The Captain laughed.
“The weather has been quite calm these past few days and we are hoping it will not be too unpleasant an experience.”
