Abigail made her way down the hallway towards the exit, her heart pounding with the tension and unease that seemed to be building with every step. She just wanted to get out of there, to leave the chaos and confusion of the school day behind her.
But as she rounded the corner, she saw Benjamin standing there, blocking her path with a sly grin on his face. Her heart sank at the sight of him, knowing that he was just going to try and charm her again.
"Where are you going?" he asked, his brow furrowed in confusion. "Hope you aren't ditching me?"
Abigail hesitated for a moment, unsure of what to say. She didn't want to lie to him, but she also didn't want to reveal her true intentions. Finally, she found her voice. "Oh, I almost forgot," she said, forcing a smile.
