Chapter Thirty One Laura had her spoon half way to her mouth when her eyes went vacant. The broth on her spoon dribbled off before the spoon slipped from her lax hand and clattered back on the table. Immediately, her daughter came, crawled into her lap, and wrapped her arms around her mother. Laura sat like a statue in her chair, just staring. George and Seth grew still and quiet. George looked concerned, and Seth felt anxiety clawing at his throat. Everyone waited. Minutes ticked by while the soup grew cold. Finally, she sucked in a deep breath and looked around.
