Love in the Dark Chapter 51 Zahara jumped up, the collection of children’s books forgotten. “Are we going to show him, mommy?” Laura retrieved the candles, handed the taper back to Seth, and then surprised him by grabbing his calloused hand and pulling him toward the entrance. She didn’t let him go but continued to keep her strong fingers wrapped around his calloused palm. Zahara skipped happily behind, her small face split with a happy grin. “Where are we going?” Seth asked as he tried not to trip over the uneven base. “It's a surprise!” Zahara sang behind him. “Great, I love surprises,” Seth grumbled, but he felt a thrill at even the small connection of their hands. It was so rare that Laura let down her guard, he was going to savor the experience for as long as it lasted.
