(Elena)
I waited in the office with my mate. I sent Beta Jared to get Aksana for us and bring her to the castle. I had already talked to Jayden and told him everything I learned about Aksana last night. He was also curious about her having a wolf, but with
no scent. I mean Jeffrey told us, but we thought that maybe Aksana was hiding her wolf’s scent, but no. I can’t smell Aksana’s wolf at all. A knock echoed in the office.
“Come in” Jayden called. The door opened, and Beta Jared walked in with Aksana right behind him. Jared bowed his head before leaving.
“Good morning Aksana” I smiled.
“Good morning Elena. Your highness”, Aksana bows her head in respect while keeping her eyes on the floor.
“Please call me Jayden”, Jayden said.
“Aksana, could you look at us?” I asked. As soon as her eyes came up I heard Jayden take a in deep breath.
‘What is it?’ I asked through the link.
‘I have seen those eyes before’ Jayden said.
‘Where?’ I asked.
‘Christopher and Angel’ he linked me and I realized that he was right. Aksana had the same eyes as one of our former and current pack members.
“Aksana, this is my mate Jayden. I told him about what you told me last night and he was curious. He thought I was losing my mind” I chuckled.
“But I see she’s not. Aksana, who are your parents?” Jayden asked.
“I… uh… I don’t know my real parents. I was adopted when I was a baby”, Aksana said, and I looked at Jayden.
“So Bill and Marly are not your real parents?” I asked, just to make sure, and Aksana shook her head.
“No, but I love them as if they were. They took care of me and provided for me” she said, and I nodded.
“Elena said that your parents have been trying to look for information on why your wolf has no scent?" Jayden asked and Aksana nodded.
“Yes, for years they have looked, but couldn’t find anything without exposing me” she said.
“Why would they worry about exposing you?” I asked.
“Because I shifted at the age of ten, and I’m a white wolf or so I was” she mumbled the last part.
“What do you mean you were?” Jayden asked.
“My wolf told me that on my nineteenth birthday, I was going to come into my full potential. I had no idea what she meant or what to expect, but on my nineteenth birthday when the full moon was at it’s highest, my shift was forced, my fur... changed, I became stronger, faster… I became better than before”, Aksana said.
“Could you… show us? Your wolf I mean” Jayden asked.
“Here?” Aksana questioned.
“Yes, it’s big enough” I said, and she nodded. Jayden and I turned around, giving her some privacy. I heard the sound of bones shifting before there was a small bark. We turned around, and I gasped when I saw the beautiful wolf in front of me.
“Wow, Aksana, you are beautiful” I said. I had never seen a white wolf with blue tips on the ears, tails, blue paws, blue tribal drawings on her snout and body, but what piqued my curiosity was the triple moon on her forehead. She moved her head a bit and the sun hit the blue part of her ears, making it look like an electric blue and her eyes… they glowed even more.
“Incredible” Jayden said.
“Thank you, Aksana. You may shift back” I said. Aksana shifted back and quickly got dressed.
“Aksana, is it okay if I take some blood samples just to run a few tests?” Jayden asked.
“Sure” she said. We called on Doctor John for him to take some blood. When he was done, he left.
“I wanted to know if I could train with the pack and maybe go for a run. My wolf is dying for one”, Aksana said, making us chuckle.
“Of course. I’ll call Jeffrey to go on a run with you and tomorrow you can train with the pack in the morning” I said, and I could see the excitement in her eyes.
“Thank you” she squealed.
“No problem. Just know that you are safe here”, I said, and she nodded. Her eyes then went to my guns, and she c****d her head to the side.
“You use guns?” she asked.
“Yes, sometimes we can’t shift because there are humans around, so having a knife or a gun helps a lot against rogues”, I tell her.
“Do you teach the pack to use them?” she asks.
“Just those who want to learn” Jayden said.
“Could you… could you teach me?” she asked.
“Sure” I smiled and she grinned. Just then there was another knock on the door. I opened the door to see it was Jeffrey.
“Jeffrey, Aksana would like to go for a run. Could you show her around the pack?” I asked.
“Of course. Come on kiddo”, Jeffrey smiled, and I could feel the excitement rolling off Aksana in waves. She looked at us, and we nodded, letting her know it was okay to go. When I closed the door, I looked at my mate.
“I had John run a DNA test on her. If she’s Chris’ daughter…” my mate trailed off. Nineteen years ago we had a rogue attack. It was horrible. For some reason, they targeted Chris and his mate. They killed Maria, Christopher’ mate, and took their two week old daughter. Chris died three months later of a broken heart.
“As for Aksana, I think we’re going to need your dad’s help” Jayden said.
“How would dad know about Aksana?” I asked.
“Not Michael. Helios” Jayden said, and I understood at that moment that this was bigger than I thought.
‘Dad? If you’re not busy could you please come down?’ I said in my head, reaching out to my dad like I have since I knew he was my real father. A bright light appeared in the office, making Jayden and I shield our eyes before it was gone.
“Elena, sweetheart, is everything okay? Did I miss a cookout?” dad asks, looking deep in thought. We invite him over to cookouts even though we keep the fact that he’s a God from other pack members except for those who already know, swore to keep it a secret.
“No dad. I actually called you because Jayden needs to talk to you”, I said, then turned to my mate.
“What is it son?” dad asked Jayden.
“Have you ever seen this symbol before?” Jayden asked, handing my dad a piece of paper where he had drawn the triple moon.
“Yes. I have. Why?” dad asked, looking very serious now.
“We think we might have seen it on someone” Jayden said.
“A pack member of yours?” dad asks and Jayden nods. Dad began to pace while scratching his chin.
“Impossible, if anything, she would have told me, but I have been very busy over the years” dad murmured to himself.
“Dad, what’s going on?” I asked.
“I’m not sure sweetheart, but I need to go back. If I find anything out, I will let you. Oh, one more question, did you happen to see the wolf?” dad asks.
“It’s how we saw this symbol”, Jayden said.
“What color is it?” dad asked.
“White with blue tips on the ears, tail, blue tribal drawings on her snout and body, and the paws were also blue” I said.
“Was there any other color?” dad asked.
“When the sun hit the fur it looked to be an electric blue and there’s a thin but noticeable silver line when the sun hits it between the white fur and the blue fur, as if outlining it. The silver line was also outlining the triple moon”, Jayden says. I had noticed it too. Dad nods before the bright light begins to surround him.
“As soon as I find anything out, I will let you know” dad said before he was gone.
“Do you think the Elders could have something about it in the archives?” I asked.
“I don’t know my love, it won’t hurt to check though. I’ll call dad and have them check” Jayden said.
“I’m going to call Maddie and see if she knows anything” I said. Ever since Maddie took on ancient magic to save my life years ago, she had become a walking encyclopedia of anything with magic. I just hope she can help me with this.
