Chapter 6

A week had past, and Felicity’s wedding was today. Everyone was excited, witches and warlocks had been arriving all morning. We thankfully had no recent reported sightings of the dark witches, which had been a blessing with this wedding, but we still continued to prepare for their arrival. I had been training all week, trying to reach Selene, but I couldn’t quite reach her. It was frustrating. But this wedding was a much-needed distraction for me. The wedding was decorated similar to both mine and Amelia’s weddings, but the flower arrangements floated in their vases around the altar and the reception party. It was typical for a witch wedding, and where Felicity was raised among the witches, it was only fitting that she had some decorations that linked to her adoptive witch family. Amelia and I had been helping Felicity get ready for the wedding, along with Harper and Hazel, as they were bridesmaids too. We even got Elisa, Ivy and Morgan ready, because they were the flower girls for Felicity’s wedding. At the ceremony, Elisa, Ivy and Morgan walked down the isle hand in hand, followed by me, and then Amelia, Harper, Hazel, and finally Felicity. When Charles saw Felicity, the tears he shed got so bad that he had to wipe them away with a handkerchief. They had written their own vows, and they were incredible. I had honestly never seen Felicity and Charles so happy. After the ceremony, the reception was within the palace, and moving the children inside was a task all its own. All the children wanted to stay outside and play with the floating flower arrangements. Eventually, we got the kids inside to their seats for dinner. The speeches were next, and the kids were thankfully quiet. Robert was the best man, so he had to give a speech. After the speeches, music began to play for the bride and groom’s first dance. Felicity and Charles twirled around the dance floor. After a couple of minutes, Robert led me on to the floor to dance to the slow music. Once we had joined the dance, others began to join. Even our kids joined the dance floor, partnering up to dance together. Alexander and Ivy danced together quite a lot and played together throughout the party, which just added to my suspicion of those two being mates. Elijah and Elisa just danced with whoever they could. Seeing Jayden and Morgan try to dance together was very adorable, they ended up jumping on the stop rather than twirling around the floor. Hunter seemed only to want to run around Felicity, and when she went to sit down to rest, after dancing, he followed her and put his hand on her bump. It made me wonder if she was having a girl, though they still wanted to keep it a secret. I moved to sit with Felicity for awhile, and just watch the kids dance with Robert, or spin him in circles as fast as they could. I turned to Felicity, and asked, “How is everything? Are you and the baby, okay?” “I am wonderful, this is the happiest day of my life,” hidden behind her words and smile was some pain and sadness. I knew the pain all too well, every day of your life, you thought your parents would be there to see you get married and even have your first child, but both Felicity and I were in the same boat. She lost her parents at birth; I lost my parents before I came here. There are many days where I want to cry, but it is helped by Robert, myself and the children take a trip to Blue Moon pack a few times a year to lay flowers and just remember the sacrifice my parents made for me. “You are wishing for your parents to be here, aren’t you,” I inquired, even though I already knew the answer. “My mum is here,” she replied, trying to put on a stoic front. “Your birth parents.” She fell silent, only to nod her head. I took her hand in mine, and said, “I felt the exact same, even though I hid it well. I wish my parents were still here to see me now, and to meet my children. But I always remember something my father told me when I was young and he had just lost his father.” “What did he say,” she finally spoke. “He told me that his father wouldn’t want him to cry over him passing on, he would want him to stand up and continue on, honouring him in the things he would do each day. He told me that he would want me to do the same when him and my mother passed away. Now, I honour them by remembering them, telling my children all about them, and doing everything in my power to protect my children, just like they had done for me all those years ago,” I explained, still holding her hand. “But I can’t even tell my children about their grandparents like you can,” she tried her best not to cry, but I could see the tears threatening. “Yes, you do. You can tell your children that your parents sacrificed their lives to protect yours and get you to safety. You can honour them by doing the same for your children, protect them even if it costs you your life,” as I spoke, I hadn’t even realised that I had begun rubbing a circle on her hand, with a purple light shining from my finger tips. Robert immediately came over and covered our hands, to conceal the purple light. Robert was about to speak, but Felicity spoke first, this time with a bright smile on her face, “You are right, Violet. Thank you so much for understanding and being by my side when I need someone that would understand. I feel much better.” “How did you do that,” Robert asked, as Felicity pulled her hand away and the purple light disappeared. “I have no idea. I have always been about to heal physical trauma, but I guess I can heal emotional pain now too,” I replied, a little shocked, that I could do that now too, while Felicity had rushed over to Charles to explain what had just happened. Charles approached us, our eyes met as he said, “Thank you, Violet, she has been feeling sad about that for days. We should have come to you to begin with. You always help everyone.” “Charles, I am your friend first and foremost. I will always help and protect my friends, just as much as my people,” I smiled, rising from my seat, only to be engulfed in a hug from Charles. Robert immediately growled at Charles, which caused us both to chuckle. Robert really didn’t like it when any males hugged or even touched me. I understand why I am his mate, his wife, his Queen, and mother to his children. Here, I thought werewolf Alphas were bad but Lycan Kings are much worse. It won’t stop me from loving him any less. Minerva approached us, and asked, “King Robert, Queen Violet, can I have a word?” I glanced over at the children, who were all still happily dancing away with Amelia and Quinn. I looked at Robert and nodded. “Of course,” Robert smiled, Charles immediately returned to Felicity, so they could have another dance. “What is it, Minerva,” I asked, the moment we were alone. “Harper and Hazel came to me and told me about your request for help with a spell. They have told me everything. I wanted to give you this personally,” Minerva said, as she handed me a small container. “What is it,” I asked. “That is realmcly, it is an herb that can help you reach higher realms. This will help bring you back, it is just a waking potion. Make a tea with only a few leaves of the realmcly, and you should be able to reach the meadows and find her. Tell no one where you got this from, and keep this under lock and key,” Minerva explained. “I have never heard of it,” Robert replied. “Because only a high priestess knows where it grows, how to grow it, and is the only one normally allowed to use it. But if you were a witch, you would have been a high priestess, Violet. This is why I am entrusting you with this secret,” informed Minerva. “You have our word,” I nodded, with Robert also nodding. “I will go put this in the safe for later on and I will have Finn and Zara bring Jaxon down. You stay with the other children,” Robert smiled, giving me a kiss, before heading off to his office. “Thank you, Minerva. But I must go to my children now,” I told her, to which she nodded. I left her side to return to my children. Amelia and I danced around the floor with our children, we were all having fun. Robert and Quinn joined us when Robert returned. Elisa and Robert danced together for awhile, he really did treat our daughter extra special, which I guess it was understandable when we were told by Selene that we would only have one daughter out of eight children. I danced with each of my sons, even Jaxon, when he was brought down to the throne room by Zara. Zara and Finn even danced too. Amelia and I left the kids with Robert and Quinn, while we gathered all of the single or only dating witches and Lycans, so Felicity could toss her flowers. Once all the women were gathered, we watched as Felicity tossed the flowers over her shoulder into the crowd of women. The flowers soared through the air, and landed straight in the arms of Harper. I watched as her eyes lit up and she looked directly at Myles, who had just gulped. It made me wonder if those two were dating. They had never said anything, so it makes me wonder if they are keeping the relationship a secret for some reason. “You saw something, didn’t you,” Robert whispered in my ear. “I do believe that Myles and Harper might be dating in secret,” I whispered back. “And, what makes you think that?” “The looks they exchanged when she caught the flowers. Come on, I want to dance some more,” I said, as I dragged Robert back on the dance floor to dance some more. All our children followed us to dance too, or play more. We spent the rest of the night dancing. By the end of the night, the kids were getting tired and we ended up cuddling downstairs, in the throne room. When the guests started to leave, we decided to retire for the night. We said, “Goodnight” to everyone. We took the kids to their rooms, changing them into their pyjamas, before tucking them into their beds. After we tucked them into bed, we retired for the night. We got to our room, and Robert asked, “When did you want to try to use that stuff to see if you could contact Selene?” “I think tomorrow would be best, or the day after. The sooner the better really, but I am tired right now, and given that it is midnight already, the day after would probably be best,” I replied. “I just hope it works and you get to Selene, so we can get the answers we need.” “Me too. Maybe, I will be able to get quite a few questions answered. How about in a couple of days we have a family barbeque and get a bonfire going?” “I think that is a wonderful idea,” Robert replied, as he climbed into bed, just in his boxers. “Great, I will make the arrangements for it tomorrow,” I smiled, as I joined him in bed. “There still haven’t been any sightings of dark witches, so hopefully they are backing off.” “I suspect they are preparing something big, so we need to keep preparing and keep our wits about us.” “Agreed, but for now, let’s try to get some sleep, before the kids wake up,” Robert said, as he pulled me into his embrace. I nodded, curling up on his chest, as I whispered, “I love you, Robert.” “I love you too, Violet,” Robert replied, as he kissed me. We cuddled each other until we fell asleep.
