“I’ve loved you for years… but you never showed any interest in me. Now that I finally made my move, it’s all up to you…” Ken whispered once more into the student’s ear.

“No…” Lynn said out loud unconsciously. “I’m sorry Master but this isn’t right…” Why was he saying this? Were these his true thoughts? He was outright refusing the man he loved right after hearing his heartfelt confession.

“Lynn… Think about it before answering me.” Ken’s deep voice resonated in the room and echoed in Lynn’s ears.

“Young Master…” Lynn was confused with his own conflicting thoughts. He wanted to love Ken and to be loved by him, but he never believed it to be possible.

“Let’s sleep already.” Ken said as he went to his own side of the bed and closed his eyes.

“Young Master, I…!” Lynn was just about to continue talking but he noticed his master was already asleep. ‘He’s out like a light… Ah… What should I do…’ Now it was even more difficult for Lynn to fall asleep. He just got confessed to by the person he loves, but why isn’t he happy? Why is he having such a difficult time to accept it?

On the next day it was no surprise that Lynn hadn’t manage to sleep again. This was the second night already, he knew it wasn’t good for his health but there was no way he could sleep peacefully next to Ken.

‘What am I going to do… If master wants us to continue sleeping next to each other. I won’t ever fall asleep. Not after… ’ Lynn thought to himself as he remembered yesterday’s events. It came as such a shock that he was still unable to comprehend it.

“Morning.” Ken said as he woke up from his sleep and greeted the other who was already up.

“Good morning Young Master, do you want me to make breakfast?” Lynn asked as he turned to look at the other.

“Hm? Sure.” Ken agreed and barely got out of bed. He stretched out his tired arms and headed towards the bathroom.

‘He’s not acting any differently…’ Lynn thought to himself while observing the other male’s movements carefully. ‘Did I actually imagine Ken confessing to me?’ He had began wondering if maybe he was going insane but his doubts dissipated after he heard the other man’s next words.

“Yeah, before I forget… I’ll be expecting an answer to my confession soon.” Ken said before leaving the room, he turned to look at the man he had confessed to. “I know I said there is no need to hurry and answer me. However… don’t take too long.” Then he left the other male alone with his thoughts.

Lynn stood there with a completely blank expression on his face. However on the inside he was freaking out. ‘So I wasn’t imagining it… What should I do? Young Master is expecting a response from me?! He told me not to hurry but not to take too long? No, this really is happening, but why now of all times??! Did Young Master realize my feelings for him? That can’t be, I’ve always hidden them well…’

All those thoughts going through Lynn’s mind all the while his face remained calm as a river…

They went to University as usual and went through their normal routine of going out to eat and then back to their apartment.

Despite not acting any differently than usual, Lynn was still painfully aware of every movement the man made. Every time Ken would look at him, the bodyguard would be reminded of last night.

‘I’m a professional… I can’t be shaken up by this… I should just tell him the truth and it will be over with…’ Lynn thought to himself and was just about to speak when the other man spoke first.

“Mom and dad are coming over the day after tomorrow. Do you miss them?” It was a strange question to ask all of a sudden but Ken didn’t seem to think that way.

“Of course I do. We haven’t seen Auntie and Uncle in more than half a year. They’re both probably worried.” Lynn said with a calm voice this time however it was filled with emotion. It wasn’t his usual indifferent tone that he used while working.

“I see…” Ken seemed to be a bit disappointed by the other’s answer for some reason. He remained silent afterwards.

‘Did I say something wrong? Young Master doesn’t seem like he wants to see them at all… But they’ve always had a great relationship… So what’s going on?’ Lynn was surprised to see his master be so unenthusiastic about his parent’s arrival. He sat there and quietly observed the other male’s actions to try and understand. However as of late Ken was even more hard to read than usual.

After a long drawn out silence Ken stood up from his chair and spoke again. “You don’t need to sleep next to me tonight.”

“Will you be able to sleep on your own?” Despite the fact that Lynn was happy to get some sleep finally, he couldn’t allow this to affect his master.

“I’ll figure it out.” Ken answered as he turned his head away from the other student.

“Master, I’ve been thinking about this for a while… Did I do something to anger you? Why do you suddenly not want me to sleep next to you?” Lynn spoke in his professional tone, as he spoke it sounded like he was completely unaffected by anything he said. Even though in reality he was confused by the other’s random actions and mixed signals.

“No, I’ve just decided not to touch you before you give me a proper answer.” Ken said without even turning to look at the other male. “Good night.” He continued and left the room to go to his own bedroom.

‘Master won’t touch me? Hm… That will make things easier but… What kind of answer could I possibly give him?’ Lynn didn’t know what he could do in a situation like this.

‘Should I just confess and get it over with? Or should I reject him so that I can remain by his side as his bodyguard?’ The conflict the male had in his head was growing more and more each day…
