Bryce takes a moment to mull over everything that has been said, his mind is racing for he cannot believe what’s happening. He has been living with his family in peace for the past three years and now all that just might change because of Janet and whatever she has up her sleeve. If it’s true that she is somehow getting released from prison then she will take Sam away from him and he can’t bear the thought of that happening because he has gotten used to having Sam around. Legally Sam is his son and he can try and use the law to keep Janet from taking Sam but it isn’t that simple because Sam isn’t a kid anymore. He is grown up and capable of making his own decisions, if he were to choose to go to his mother then he cannot force him to stay with him. Judging by the way Sam is acting right now he is convinced he will choose his mother. Now the question is what is he supposed to do about it now, should he contact the police and have an investigation done to make sure Janet doesn’t get released? What are the chances that would actually work since he has no idea what connections Janet has and Sam would never forgive him.
And what about his wife? He can’t keep this away from her even if it’s what Sam wants. He has to put his marriage first and not jeopardize it for a son that would leave him for his biological mother without thinking twice.
“She is my wife and I’m not going to keep any secrets from her,” he decides. Sam leaps out of his chair, a frown builds on his face, “I knew you would make me regret telling you,” he snarls. “Well then maybe you shouldn’t have told me,” Bryce huffs. “I didn’t want to but you forced me to...you gave me no choice,” he smirks. “Exactly! I also have no choice and you don’t have to worry about Kiana trying anything to stop your biological mother from being released,” “How can you be so sure?” he asks with arched brows.
“Because she is my wife, I know her and she won’t have that time. She has better things to use her time on,” he states and turns to walk away. “Dad wait! Where are you going? We are not done talking,” Sam shouts after him but he doesn’t stop, he continues strolling away.
