DWYN'S FATHER

1176 Words
Abria The day was nothing good to be said but to be felt in an awkward meeting with the ministers and the queen. The recent news of the former king roaming in the kingdom caused a lot of panic in the territory. That day, he was lucky enough to run away and was still hiding under the shadows but it isn't clear why the former title was given to him?  As far as I remember from the books I read in the library, only a queen is allowed to rule over this kingdom, but to be honest, a lot of this is messed up here, or maybe, I have no idea about the things appearing on the surface rather than buried under the ground.  I was in my room, going through random history books about the king but not much information was available. But one thing was clear, he was the man my biological mother married after my father left.. I sighed and closed the book, and he put it on the nightstand. It was too kuch to get through ,my tired brain.  There are a lot of awkward things happening around. I mean, I met my step father, then Daphne was all good and nice, later, the queen wasn’t angry anymore and Anma dismissed my punishment. All this doesn’t make any sense. Maybe they are busy over something because there were some serious meetings going on. The snow has fallen the whole night and now everything I see is white. The temperature went negative and I was literally shivering in this weather. Should I be immune to such harsh weather but no, oh..  There was a knock on the door and I went up to open it. My eyes widened to see the queen standing at the doorsteps along with some maids behind her.  “Good morning… is everything okay?” i was dumbstruck to see them. “Good morning sweetheart… How are you? It’s quite chilling today…” She smiled at me and get inside. The maids followed her to my room and they started cleaning and adjusting the furniture to make space. I was glancing at what they were doing. Curiously, I asked the queen, “what is happening here?”  She turned to me and replied, “oh.. Nothing much… We will install a fireplace in your room. You might have felt cold last night… in the coming days, the temperature is going to be its lowest.. And i know you have no tolerance for such a temperature..” she mentioned while patting my head. “How do you know that?” i was really surprised by the fact she knows. She pouted and responded, “well, you are my baby and when you were really small, i noticed how easily you used to get cold and shiver, in fact i used heaters to provide the warmth in such a place. That moment, I knew you were different from your brother.”  I raised my brows and smiled slightly, “okay… that’s great.. I mean we both are really different… Can I ask you something?” I know that wasn’t the right moment to bring up such a topic but I had to. “Yes, of course…” She was cheerful today and glad it was a good time to bring up something like that.. “This thing is bothering me a lot.. I mean that it is stated in the books only queens are allowed to rule over this kingdom, so how did it get a  former king?”  She was silent for a moment as if I pressed the wrong nerve by the way. She sighed and stated, “I don't know if you will understand this but sometimes, you are willing to go beyond limits in the name of love.. However, when the limits are exceeded and things start to thin out, you see them very clearly. If you are able to fix those mistakes in time, then it is good for you but one poor choice of decision can destroy you… just assume i was blinded by the need of love and took a wrong decision…” her voice held so many emotions but depression and sadness was grated in each word. “I am sorry, i never wanted to scrape the wound, though i have done it before but it wasn’t my intention…” I apologise to her. “No.. it’s fine.. Some mistakes need to be seen to realise every wrong you have done.. For me… I am no longer in that possession to hold such feelings for him…” she said with a heaviness in her voice. “He said that he accepted me when he found out you were pregnant… Did he really mean that?”  She looked at me with concern and put her hands on my shoulder, “what else did he tell you?” “Not much but he admitted that he wanted to kill me before my abduction and how much he regrets not killing me when he had a chance…”  “Oh dear, I am really sorry…” she hugged me and rubbed my back.. “That bastard has the nerve to say that… what else to expect from him?” There was Dwyn, standing on the doorstep and grit his teeth. “Dwyn?” i was shocked to see him and more, the anger and aggression his eyes were holding. “He is such a jerk… he tried to kill you? I swear I will find him and kill him before he sets his eyes on this place…” Dwyn locked his fist and I could sense the tension rising up.. “Dwyn.. you know you don’t have to be this aggressive… I know how his actions affect you but there is no good in hurting yourself…” Silver rushed to Dwyna and held his hands. Suddenly, I realised why that man seemed so familiar. His eyes… they are the same as Dwyn’s.. Is he??? Is he Dwyn’s father? “Dwyn?” I called him.. “Is that maniac your father?” Why did I ask this question from him? Stupid brain!! Dwyn was extremely hurt and forcely shut his eyes… “it won’t wash off…. It won’t wash off unless I bathe in his blood… mom… Abria… he tried hurting both of my family and I swear to both of you, I will make him pay for this…” he was frustrated and the way his voice sounded was terrifying.  He didn’t just mean it but there was something which told clearly, he wasn’t in the mood of joking around. “Not every blood relation is worth worshipping, sometimes it's good to cut the loose strings or let it go. Revenge is just like a fire, you won’t feel it unless you burn inside along with it… and what is important, you let it go for yourself…” the queen stated. “As I said, it won’t wash off…” Dwyn said with a sad voice.
