CHAPTER 5*STABLE*

3103 Words
Some scientist and the lab technicians scurried around the lab as they tried everything professionally possible to calm down the convulsing Cillan.  A few minutes after Dr. Oscar injected the serum into Cillan blood stream, the human had fainted scaring the scientist and Delisha.  With Cillian fainting, it didn’t scare Delisha because she cared for me, but because she didn’t want the experiment ending up as a failure. She has dedicated everything she has into building this facility, years of her life. Now that she is almost a step toward achieving her aim, the first test is turning out to be a failure.  It is possible for her to get a new human for these experiments, but it would prove difficult to get one with a vengeful soul, like Cillán’s. Not just any vengeful soul, but one against the Alpha king. If the experiments become a success. If she ever gets her hands on that wolf and gets her scientists to perfect the serums made from his blood to create her perfect creature, revenge wouldn’t be all that if the one wielding such power has no hatred towards the Royal family. And Delisha knows, ever since Allison became King, not a single werewolf has had anything bad to say about her reign. There is not a single creature in their right senses would even want to go against Allison. Such a person may have already signed up for death, because they know the Alpha King despite her kindness and love towards her people as a living death sentence. It is apparent that Delisha knows this, which is why she isn’t going up against Allison. Despite her being a witch, she knows her magic cannot bring down the Alpha King; She needs something better, something the almighty Acca wouldn’t see coming. She barked others at the scientists, despite their relentless efforts to stabilizing the convulsing man. "What are you doing running around? Do something and stop him from convulsing." An annoyed looking Delisha barks at doctor Oscar, who scurries out of the cubic section they had Cillan in. "Dr Stance, get me one shot of Valium and Iv drip of Acetazolamide and Lorazepam syrup. Also bring the vial in the incubator."  Dr Oscar instructs, placing some folded bed sheet under Cillan's head and he undoes the strap used to keep Cillian on the bed.  Delisha watches with keen attention, bouncing from one foot to the other, as she pondered on how hard it would be to get another willing human Cillan dies.   She can enchant one and force them to do her biding, but if the experiment works fine, her enchantment might wear off the person and they would prove difficult to control.  Cillan is an easy target for her, an easy means to end with his vengeful soul and clueless mind. All he needs is a little manipulation. She gives room for the Scientist as they administer the drug on a convulsing Cillan in attempts to keep him calm.  Unfortunately for Delisha and the scientist, every drug injected into his body came rushing out through his ears, mouth, and nose.  Delisha gasps in panic as dark clots of blood rushes out of Cillan's nose, ears and mouth. "Do something, why are you just standing there. If he dies, I am going to make your wife suffer a painful death while you watch."  Delisha threatens Dr Oscar, her calm brown eyes raging a neon green colour as she fumes. "He is convulsing. I am trying my best not to make matters worst. I need him to calm before I can do anything."  Dr Oscar answers in a calm voice, despite the rapid beating of his heart. "Then restrain him, if he won't calm down, restrain him and do what I brought you here to do." She was never a woman of patience, only if need be, and right now Delisha's patient is running low. "I cannot restrain him, it will block his airways." Another lab technician runs in with an unknown vial, handing it over to Dr Oscar, who withdraws the liquid content in the bottle into the syringe he is holding, injecting it into the IV drip already attached to Cillan vein.  "We have to watch and wait for a few minutes for him to calm. I created a negative for the serum in case things get out of hands. I believe the serum in his system is the reason he fainted from earlier and why he is convulsing. I told you there would be side effects. The negative serum would slow down whatever the regenerative serum is doing to his body, which would automatically put a hold on the side effects, and I can have a better look at him." Dr Oscar provides, standing beside Delisha in wait for the negative serum to take effect, Delisha nods at the information as her fears of loosing Cillan subsides. "Why is he bleeding?"  "The bleeding might be potential side effects of the serum. It could as be because of his immune system fighting off the serum or the serum trying to take control. His body is either accepting the serum or rejecting it. I can't decide yet until he calms and I have to run a test on his blood sample also we could have avoided all this if you had allowed me to run a few tests on him before injecting him with the serum." Dr Oscar responds, rolling his eyes, careful enough for the witch not to catch him in the action, and Delisha sighs. "We made the mistake. Focus less on that and focus on how to make this work. I need him to be compatible with this experiment. He is the best fit." Delisha says, and Dr Oscar nods, walking over to Cillan on the bed as his the tremor in his body slowly subsides.  "Dr stance, please take a sample of his blood and prepare him for the EAD room." Dr Oscar instructs, checking Cillan's vitals.  "Master, please follow me. He seems stable now, but I have to conduct several tests on him for the next few days. I might need to cut him open if need be. I would keep him alive at all costs and bring you the best results."  He assures Delisha, leading the witch out of the cubic section. "What about the other bloods, anything good on them so far?"  Delisha asked as they walk into another section of the laboratory. "The information on the record files, didn't pose more help, but so far we've sampled most of the bloods as omega werewolf blood, given the statistic of those samples that turned out as omega blood, I think whatever experiments your sisters husband was running had to do with omegas." "Are you implying that this regenerative blood might be that of an omega wolf?"  Delisha asks, and Oscar shakes his head. "I doubt that, master. The allele of the Dna molecules in the regenerative blood turn out to be more dominant than the ones found in the other bloods that were sampled. Suggestively: I don't think the blood belongs to an omega wolf, preferably an Alpha. But it is difficult to discern if it's an Alpha or omega blood since the Dna is halfway mutated." The scientist explains, handing over files filled with a documented process of every conducted test, of the regenerative blood to determine the variable responsible for regeneration.  The witch skims through the pages, filled with scientific references and generic indications that she didn't quite understand before handing over to Oscar.  "I can't tell which is which from this, but if you can't determine the wolf status of the regenerative blood according to all the biological stuff's you just mentioned, that might because the blood belongs to an underage wolf."  "What do you mean?"  Dr Oscar asks, picking up his tablet typing on the screen. "You see. Werewolves are weird creatures. Although they have the wolf gene in them from birth, their wolf doesn't push forth until a certain age. If that blood belongs to a pup then it would be hard to tell what status the wolf bearer holds." Delisha explains to Dr Oscar, who pays keen interest in every word she said, taking notes on important factors.  "Thank you for sharing this with this information. I think we would take the experiments through a fresh approach, we should be able to decipher the wolf status. it might take time, but if we succeed, it would make things easier." Dr Oscar informs and Delisha nods.  "Sir, the subject is ready in the EAD room." "Okay, I'll be with you shortly get everything ready, take a sample of the blood to the genetic testing cubicle and another sample to the micro lab. I want detailed analysis on whatever they found in the blood." Dr Oscar instructs and the lab technician nods, turning on his heel to scurry out of the space before halting to ask one more question. "Excuse me sir, what should test the blood samples." "Everything and anything unusual in the erythrocytes, leukocytes, platelets. Also, I want you to tell the microbiologist to take a sample from the dark blood and the blood drawn out his body. Tell her to have both on the slide and examine the reaction through the microscope. I want a detailed report on that." Dr Oscar instructs, and the lab technician scurries out of the room to carry out the instructions.  "Master, if you would excuse me, I need to go examine the subject."  "Do you still need the assistant of the chemist you told me to secure?" Delisha asks as they step out of the room, and Oscar nods. "I'll be glad if he can join us. We need the help of a professional chemist here. If we have to make more of that serum then the knowledge of a chemist would do great justice to the experiments." He replies, and Delisha hums along. "I'll have my men see to it. I expect to see positive result when next I visit do not disappoint me." She warns in a meek tone that one could mistake for kindness, and Dr Oscar gulps, nodding. "Of course master, I aim to bring this mission to a succes."  He replies with a grin that's got Delisha rolling her eyes before waling towards the exit.  *********************************************************************************************** "Love you should go rest, you've been here with him since last night."  Alistair says, walking into the twins' room. "I am waiting for ken. He hasn't done the check up on him today."  Allison replies, eyes trained on her son, who hasn't woken up fully since he collapsed. It's been three days and the young pup has been going in and out of consciousness.  Dr ken took him off the Iv drip he placed Alexius on the day before, telling them it was safe to bring the boy back to his room.  Meanwhile, bringing Aloysius to stability wasn't difficult. After administering the drugs Dr ken requested for, the boy had stopped convulsing and his breathing came back to normal, almost as if nothing happened to him. Despite allowing him to play around and be his usual self, Dr ken kept a close watch on him, which was easy to do because Aloysius spent half the day sitting beside his twin brother.  Since bringing Alexius back to his room, Allison has not left his side. She wanted to keep a close watch on him and be there when he wakes up. He woke up twice, the first time he requested for water, and fell back into slumber after quenching his taste. The second time Alexius woke incoherent words, but Allison could pick Paige's name, so she sent for the young Alpha. The young Alpha who raced on up on the day the twins had the issues. It surprised Allison and Allistair when they saw him, because no one aside from them and Dr ken knew what was happening. Yet Paige raced home, frantically asking what happened to his brothers. But the Alpha's didn't dwell on it much and ruled it off as the sibling connection between, since the boys are close to him.  "Greetings your highness, Your Grace. Did he wake up yet?"  Dr Ken greets both Alphas with a polite bow, walking into the room towards the boy Alexius laid and he examines the young pup. "He did twice, 8 hours apart." Allison answers and Dr ken nods. "That's normal. He is perfectly fine now, and his vitals are stable. I guess his body just wants to rest for a while there is nothing to worry about, your Grace. Your little prince is fine."  Dr ken assures and both Alphas nod. "Any news on the test.?" Alistair asks and ken shakes. "Nothing new yet. All the tests we've performed have come out negative. Medically there is nothing wrong with them, but I still want to conduct a few more tests. If I find anything unusual, I would let you know, you highness." "Thank your for everything Ken, for taking care of our boys. You should take the rest of the day off work and relax, okay. I'll call Joyce to let her know you won't be coming for the rest of the day and tomorrow likewise."  Allison shows her gratitude to the doctor as she stands up and pulls him in for a friendly embrace. "You are welcome, your grace. I'll do as you've said. But I think you also need to rest. I am sure you haven't slept a wink since yesterday. You should get some sleep for your son." Ken responds, bowing one more time before exiting the room.  "How are you, love?"  Allison asks, taking a seat beside her mate on the bed, and she rests her head on his shoulder.  "The question is, how are you?. You need to rest. Ken already assured us that everything is fine now. Our boy is just sleeping. You should relax." Alistair responds with a frown of worry on his face, and Allison sighed.  "I will. I need to round up my work in the office though, then I can relax properly." "I did that last night. Since you wouldn't leave his side and I can't sleep without you, I decide to help you with the invoice and paperwork you had piled on your desk. And I have also sent out the pending emails you had in your drafts. So no excuses." Alistair informs, and Allison beams, giving him a peck. "You, my man, are a darling."  Allison compliments and her mate smiled.  "Only for you. Can we go now, you need to eat before laying down or washing up. Good thing I am a darling cause I prepared food for you." "You are a lifer saver. Thank you, Alpha." Allison appreciates, encasing her arm around him, and he lifts her off the bed, holding on tight to her waist.  "Mommyyy...." The croaky groan from Alexius hits their ears as both mates made to exit the room and they turned back, eyes coming in focus on their son who was struggling to sit on the bed.  "Hey baby, easy mommy is here. Let me help you." Alison says with care and caution, rushing to her son's side as she helps him sit up and she holds his hands as he gingerly sits beside him and Alistair joins the duo, choosing to stand and just watch over them.  "Are you feeling okay, baby?, Do you need anything water? are you hungry? What would like to eat?" Allison bombards the little one with questions and Alistair gives her shoulder a light squeeze, telling her to relax through the mind link. "I want food and big brother."  Alexius says, his voice sounding croaky to the ears and his parents nods.  "What food do you want, mummy would cook if for you? As for your big brother, he is attending to pack duties?"  "But I Want big brother."  Alexius whines, sounding drowsy as he rubs his eye. "Big brother won't be back till evening, you should first baby."  Allison tries to coo her son into focusing on food first, but the boy was adamant about seeing his big brother. "I'm here, big boy." Paige's voice echoes in the walls as he steps into the room, walking towards his parents and sibling. And Allison sighed in relief. "Thank Goddess you're here, he just woke up and he won't say what he wants to eat, he insists on seeing you, can you get him to talk?"  Allison says, and Paige nods. He takes off his shoes and joins the young boy on the bed. Immediately the birth dipped in Alexius turned away from his mother and hugged Paige, who reciprocated the same energy.  "So now that I am here, buddy, will you tell me what you want to eat?"  Paige asks and Alexius nods. "I want cereal."  The boy responds and Paige smiles. "After Cereal, what else?"  Paige asks hopping to the bed would request for any other food. "I want to sleep on your chest."  Alexius replies drowsily, and Paige nods. "I guess we can make that work, if that's what you want. But first you need to stay awake to eat."  Paige responds, shaking the Alexius awake. "I'll go get the cereal."  Alistair announces, exiting the room, and Paige turns to Allison. "Mum, go rest. I can handle him on my own."  Paige tells Allison and the Alpha smiles. "I just worry that he might need me for something."  She tells him with concern lacing her voice, and Paige shakes his head. "It's fine, mom, go rest. I will take care of my little brother pending when you wake up now please go. I know already dad told you to rest likewise. You shouldn't worry yourself too much when you have us here." Paige responds to Allison just as Alistair walks in with the bowl of cereal and Paige accepts it, positioning himself well to feed Alexius. "Your son and I are both right. Can we leave now that Paige is here?"  Alistair questions, and Allison groans, sitting up from her side on the bed. She kisses Alexius temple doing same to Paige who almost died of embarrassment. "Call me or your dad if something happens."  Allison says before walking out of the room with her mate in tow, while Paige focused on feeding his younger sibling, who still whined about wanting to sleep on the Alphas chest to which Paige did not refuse.
