Since their return from the seer, Allison took it upon herself to gather books related to sages and browse the internet for any possible information that would help them understand Alexius gift more and be able to help him when needed.
“Anything useful yet?”
Alistair asks, walking into their bedroom, placing a kiss on Allison’s cheek, and the female Alpha shakes her head.
“Unproductive.”
Allison responds, causing her mate to frown. Taking a seat beside the female Alpha on the bed, and drags one of the book to his lap.
“You mean none of this book has any useful information we can relate to or use in understanding our son’s power?”
Alistair questions, flipping through the pages of the book, and Allison sighs.
“That one you’re holding is completely useless. It only talks about mages and sorcery and whatnot. This one in my hand has information about sages, but none of them points them as supernatural beings who get premonitions. It says here that most sages are old wise men who serve the king like advisors to throne.”
Allison explains and her mates sighs, closing the book in his hands.
“That’s a bit confusing, if sages are old men. Alexius is just a boy. Perhaps the seer confused what he is with something else. Should we go to the priestess for more insight?”
Alistair questions, and Allison shakes her head.
“I think it’s quite unsafe if we expose him too much, we don’t understand what he is yet, and the more we seek answers from others the complicated it might become. The seer already told us with Randall close to him, Alexius is safe. For now, we should rather have him share a room with Paige and have Paige watch him for a while. If the nightmares or premonitions become more frequent, we can then go to the priestess. If it doesn’t, then we let him share the room with Paige until we understand this better, or do you think otherwise?”
Allison explains while also seeking her mate’s opinion, and Alistair nods.
“That’s a wonderful suggestion. Besides, he already shares a room with Paige as we speak. Originally Alexius is more attached to Paige than anyone else in the family. If Paige’s wolf is a guardian to Alexius, then it makes sense. With Paige keeping him safe, we can research more about all this and hopefully help if the power becomes too much from him.”
Alistair adds, and Allison nods, agreeing with him as she turns a page, staring at the contents intensely.
“See here.”
Allison calls the attention of her mate and Alistair leans over to see what she is pointing at in the book.
“Here it says during the era of Magicians and Druids, they called Sages then Senex. This other section is showing the picture of a leaf. If you read the second to the last paragraph, it refers to the leaf here as sage.”
Allison says, pointing out to the paragraph, and they both read further.
“It says here that the sage leaf has a magic efficiency for immortality, wisdom and protection.”
Alistair reads out loud, and Allison sighs.
“Do you think that might be how they coined the word sage, you know like a borrowed language, perhaps they didn’t want to call people like Alexius seers hence they borrowed the word sage, also this book isn’t really telling what the wise men did for the kings they served.”
Allison’s ays and Alistair nods, agreeing with his mate, because there is no other explanation to why the book doesn’t say much about sage as a person.
“Also in the ancient times, people refer to men who could tell the future through dreams as wise men, that might be the case.”
Alistair contributes, and Allison nods, sighing as she closed the book.
“I guess we have to depend on our intuition to help if we keep a close watch on him. Nothing should go wrong. I also think perhaps the kids should get home schooled for now. The nightmare he had was about a boy getting kidnapped. We really don’t know how that might turn out. We can have him and his brother homeschooled. Also, double the security at each border of the territory. What do you think?”
Allison asks, leaning on her mate’s chest, sighing as she tries to organise her thoughts. She always thought she would have everything under control, but now she seems powerless in doing anything to help her son and that isn’t sitting well with her.
“That’s a wonderful suggestion. I’ve also been thinking, don’t you think it’s better if we teach the boys some self defence? They would be twelve in like ten months, if at all anything would happen which we don’t pray, it’s wrong to leave them defenceless. If Alexius is moving into Paige’s room, we can have him train the boys daily before going about his other duties.”
Alistair comments, brushing his fingers through Allison’s silver-white hair, and the female Alpha hums.
“Yeah, but you know Paige is a trainer with the pack training unit. I guess we would relieve him of his duties for now until the boys have their first shift. They can join the rest of the pack in training then.”
Allison says, contributing to her mate’s suggestion, and the Alpha nods, kissing the top of her head.
“We should discuss this with him when he gets back from work today.”
Alistair says, sliding off the bed.
“True, but how long do you think Alexius using Paige’s room would go on? He would be eighteen in two months. I know he isn’t seeing anyone for now and if his mate is not in the pack at some point he needs to leave to look for her.”
Allison sighs at the thought and Alistair bends down to kiss her on the lips.
“You worry too much. When he comes, we would engage him with the topic and hear what he thinks. We shouldn’t worry about things that aren’t there yet. I made lunch haven’t served it. I need a quick shower before I eat anything.”
Alistair says taking off his clothes and Allison slides off the bend, back hugging her mate.
“I think I also need to shower, don’t you think so? I smell.”
Allison says, kissing the name of her mate, and Alistair laughs.
“You smell nice mate and I can tell you bathed not quite long.”
Alistair comments, and Allison grabs his shaft in her hand as his trousers slid off his waist.
“I don’t mind getting wet for you again, dear mate. I enjoy pleasing my Alpha and little johnny here seems to enjoy my touch right now.”
The Alpha male sucks in a sharp breath as Allison palms him slowly and in a teasing rhythm.
“We both know there is no way my johnny is little.”
Alistair says, trying to hold out from giving into his mate, even though he would cave in eventually as Allison is just so irresistible.
“Feels little in my hands right now Alpha, you would need a lot more than talking to prove that little johnny isn’t so little.”
Allison responds, blowing air along the veins in his neck, and Alistair gulps, groaning as he bucks his hip.
“Don’t tempt your Alpha mate.”
Alistair warns, and Allison smiles, nibbling on his earlobe.
“It seems my Alpha doesn’t have the balls to show me how big johnny is.”
Allison says with a corny smile, gracing her lips, and Alistair growls.
“You win, all the time, don’t nag about being tired.”
Alistair says, turning around, and he sweeps Allison off her feet, carrying her bridal style to their bathroom. And the female Alpha giggled like a child going to store for candy.

“Mom, dad?”
Paige calls, walking into the king’s suite in search of his parents.
“Son, come to the balcony.”
Alistair answers as the voice of the young Alpha reached his ears.
“Sophia said you wanted to see me?”
Paige tells them, as he opened the drapes of the balcony, first hugging Allison before he did the same with Alistair.
A sign of greetings to the parents, something Allison taught the kids as they grew up. She believed that would help them feel more comfortable around her and Alistair, and it gives the opportunity for the kids to see them as friends.
“Yes, sit down and have some juice.”
Paige nods, obeying his mother, and he pours himself a cup from the pineapple juice on the table, adding some ice cubes to the juice before taking a gulp from it.
“Is everything alright? You face is full of worry did something happen?”
Paige asks, and both parents sigh, sharing a glance before deciding that Alistair should break the ice.
“Son, nothing happened. For now, we hoped not. You remember our journey to the seer and the things she said about your younger brother and your wolf Randall?”
Alistair says, and Paige nods.
“She said my wolf is a protector for the twins, mostly Alexius.”
Paige replies and his parents nods.
“We know Alexius sleeps in your room occasionally, so far has he had the nightmares like he used to?”
Alistair asks, and Paige shakes his head.
“He sleeps like a baby, it’s a hassle waking him up in the morning.”
Paige says chuckling, and the parents laughed. Alexius is the lazy type when sleeping. You either drag him out of bed or wake him up with water if allowed the boy would sleep forty-eight hours with no care.
“That’s why we called to see you. We know you eighteenth birthday is just two months away. You might find your mate or need to search for them outside the pack, which is why it’s hard for us to ask this of you.”
Allison says, speaking up, and the boy frowns.
“Mom, I know finding my mate is important, but I’ll like you to know that I am not in a hurry to meet them yet. Until I meet her or him, they are still a stranger to me everyone in this household is family and you all come first. If my mate isn’t in the pack, I am not in haste to tour the world or visit neighbouring packs in search of them. So whatever it is, you want to request go ahead mom, dad I will do it.”
Paige says, and the parents shared a knowing look, although Allison felt bad that she would hold back her boy from finding his significant other.
“It’s about your brother Alexius, we want him to move into your room.”
Allison announces, hoping Paige wouldn’t see it as an invasion of privacy.
“Okay, he sleeps in my room nowadays, so the little brat movie in isn’t a problem for me. I can watch him closely if anything happens.”
Paige says and the parents sigh in relief. Even without going into details, they were glad the young Alpha could tell the reason for their request.
“One more thing.”
Alistair says.
“Will be okay with to stop training with the pack members for now? We think it’s paramount that the boys learn how to defend themselves now. That way they can protect each other until we get to them if something happens. Since you’re one of the pack best trainers, we want you to train them to their best, pending the time they can join the rest of the pack in training.”
Alistair adds and Paige heaves. Training with the pack is one thing he loves doing, it takes his mind away from so many thoughts and helps him find balance with his wolf Randall who always acts like a foreigner in his head.
[They are demanding too much, letting the boy use our space is enough.]
Paige wolf Randall growls in his head and Paige scoffs.
[Shut it Randall, they are our parents and this isn’t too much. The kids need our help, especially Alexius.]
Paige replies, and the Randall snorts, rolling his eyes.
[They are your parents, not mine. My parents died a while back. I’m only doing this for the boys.]
Randall responds and Paige sighs.
[Way to be ungrateful. I would tell Lupa everything you just said, let’s see if you’ll have the guts to repeat it before her. Shouldn’t you be a protector?]
Paige says, threatening to report his wolf to Lupa when next she surfaces, and Randall gulps.
[How petty. Lupa loves me and she won’t believe you anyway also I love our parents again. I was only saying the truth.]
Randall responds, and Paige scoffs, mumbling a coward underneath his breath.
“I’ll do it. You both deal with a lot of work daily for the pack and the werewolf kingdom. So I’ll do anything as long as it lessens the burden off your shoulders and they are my brothers, that’s all that matters.”
Paige says, and Allison smiles, hugging the boy.
“Thank you, son.”
Both parents say in unison.
“You shouldn’t thank me. I’ll move Alexius things to my room. Do you think Aloysius would be fine on his own?”
Paige questions, and both Alpha nods.
“We talked to him earlier, and he claims to be a big boy who can sleep on his own.”
Allison answers and Paige laughs.
“Fair enough. I’ll take my leave now if that’s all.”
Paige says and they nod.
“Don’t forget to come to the dinning for dinner later, you skipped dinner yesterday.”
Allison tells him as Paige walks back into the living space that connects with the balcony.
