Drake and Talia had just told each other about their siblings. Drake “What about your parents? Are they alive, dead, together or apart?” Talia “My parents are alive, and they’ve been married for 18 years a year before my mom got pregnant with Brayden.” Drake “Do you participate in any sporting activities?” Talia “Yes! I’m a cheerleader in the fall for the football team, I cheer in the winter for the basketball team and I play for the girls’ lacrosse team in the spring.” Drake “Wow! You’re a busy girl!” Talia “You play any sports?” Drake “Yes! Back when we lived in Louisiana I played football in the fall, I played basketball in the winter and I played for the boys’ lacrosse team in the spring.” Talia “Woah! You’re a triple varsity player and a jock!” Drake “So are you!” Talia “Cheerleading is not really a contact/physical sport, but it is considered a sport here in the state of New York. Lacrosse is considered for a contact/physical sport.”
Drake and Talia finish their living organisms packet before the end of the period bell rings. Mr. Vanderwoodsen collects their packets and puts them on his desk. Drake and Talia ask each other what classes they have for the rest of the day. Drake “What do you have next period?” Talia “I have lunch next, 5th period I have Gym, 6th period I have Spanish, 7th period I have World History and 8th period I have Study Hall. What about you?” Drake “I have lunch next period, AP World History 5th period, Gym 6th period, Spanish 7th period and Study Hall 8th period.”
