“Savauge…” Naomi says softly as he keeps her gaze on her Mother for a few seconds, immediately being able to recognise that last name.
“I know that name…” Kayla says out loud as she looks at her sister as well, both of them having the same exact thought.
“He must bare some sort of resemblance to Allison Savauge… the Alpha we are supposed to be meeting today…” Kayla informs Naomi just as they both slowly turn to look at their Mother, waiting for her to confirm what they are talking about. And soon… she finally does.
“Allison Savauge… is Bryron Savauge’s daughter…” Trina says carefully and Naomi feels her heart begin to race in her chest, her face completely black as she stares at her Mother in disbelief.
“You knew…?” Naomi’s voice is quiet, the pain she is experiencing becoming evident on her face as she slowly begins to realise what her Mother is saying. Trina stares at her daughter guiltily, more tears welling in her eyes as she sees the pain on her daughter’s face, all because she kept the truth from them…
“So does that make me…” Naomi’s voice breaks as she begins to feel tears in her eyes as well, making Kayla turn to her worriedly as she notices how upset she is slowly becoming.
“I have a half-sister…?” Naomi is finally able to let out, watching as her Mother slowly nods her head in response, confirming what Naomi had just asked her. Naomi feels her heart drop as she takes yet another step back, tears falling from her eyes as her chest begins to rise and fall, her breathing becoming more elevated as her emotions her the best of her.
“H-how could you keep that from me?” Naomi’s voice rises slightly and Trina fails to answer her, shaking her head as she lets out a soft cry, completely ashamed of what she’s done and looking down at the floor to avoid her daughter’s gaze.
“HOW?!” Naomi roars, a growl ripping into the air right after she shouts, now struggling to keep herself calm.
“I’m sorry Naomi… I’m so sorry…” Trina begins to apologise just as Kayla who had only just gained control of her emotion, begins to tear up again once she sees how much pain her sister is in.
“I can’t believe you…” Naomi chokes up, her breath hitching as she feels her skin burn up, just like it did when she first ran into the forest, only this time the feeling is much more intense and she can feel it coursing through her entire body.
“Naomi, calm down, please… Please calm down…” Kayla rushes over to Naomi once she realises she might be losing control of her power, and who knows what might happen if she does lose control. As soon as Kayla reaches her sister, she grabs hold of her forearms desperately and tried to divert Naomi’s attention away from their Mother, but the second Kayla touches Naomi’s skin, she feels how hot she is, her skin almost too hot to touch which worries Kayla even more…
“I’m calm… I promise…” Naomi tries to convince her little sister once she too realises that her skin is burning up judging by Kayla’s reaction. he doesn’t understand fully how her powers work, but she has a good feeling that experiencing overwhelming emotions such as the ones running through her head at the moment, would be enough for her to lose control of them… so she needs to avoid that at all costs.
Naomi then allows herself to be consoled by her sister, following her lead as Kayla tells her to take in deep and slow breaths in the hopes of remaining calm, and so far it seems to be working.
“Mom… was Bryron Savauge a Lycan…?” Kayla then speaks up, being just as curious as Naomi is about her birth father, and as Trina hears Kayla ask her a question, she maintains a worried expression on her face as her nervous hands wrap around her body, fearful of how else her daughters might react.
“No… he wasn’t… but was more powerful than the average Werewolf… He comes from a line of the original Viraai…” Trina tells them and as she explains both Kayla and Naomi look at each other, not really being able to understand what she means by that. All she knows is there’s so much more both of them need to discover, and clearly some of it they’re not going to be able to get from their mother.
“It’s very hard for me to explain because I don’t know much myself… but…-” Trina carries on, proving their point and as soon as Naomi hears her mother’s excuse for not giving her the full truth, she immediately interrupts her and begins to shake her head, raising a hand towards her just as she begins to back away from both Kayla and Trina…
“I don’t want to hear anything else from you…” Naomi lets out all while tears continue to stream down her face, still unable to fathom the fact that all this time, she’s had a biological half-sister… and she Alpha Allison Savauge of the Orion Blood Pack.
“We can find out the rest together, please…” Trina begs them both once she sees that Naomi is ready to leave the room and she knows that after she does, it’ll be even harder to try and talk to her again…
“No…” Naomi tells her Mother and at this point, all Kayla can do is watch helplessly as her sister continues to back away from them up until she reached the door and grabs hold of it harshly.
“Naomi! Naomi please!” Trina calls out desperately and before she can say anything more, Naomi is already out the door, slamming it shut behind her with such a force, the door almost breaks. Once Naomi is out of the room, Kayla prolongs her gaze on the door for a few more seconds before she eventually turns around to look at her Mother, finding her struggling completely to gain control of her crying.
“Kayla…” Her Mother says quietly and though her heart breaks from hearing and seeing her Mom cry, she’s not ready to forgive her…
“Please let me make this right…” She carries on as she takes a few desperate steps towards Kayla and grabs hold of both her hands, both of them being the same height and so they’re able to meet each other at eye level.
“No… we’ll find out on our own…” Kayla shakes her head at her Mom, carefully slipping out of her Mom’s grip with ease and taking a few steps away from her.
“You’ve done enough…” Kayla tells her Mother and it breaks her heart, even more, to have to be so cold towards her, but this is something she needs time to process and eventually accept; her Mom needs to understand that.
“Kayla…” Trina lets out as she tries to step closer to her daughter but Kayla instead makes her way to the door all while facing her Mother.
“I’ll speak to Naomi…” Kayla then speaks up shortly after her Mother tries to get her to say, hoping it’ll put her at ease to know that Kayla is still somehow trying to fix things between the three of them.
“Kayla… please forgive me…” Her mother begs and Kayla stares at her mother longingly, feeling more tears well in her eyes from seeing her Mother cry, but she knows right now, they just need time…
“Mom… I can’t right now… I’m sorry…” Kayla tells her, shaking her head at her just as she begins to back away from her up until she finally turns around and walks towards the door, walking through it and shutting it behind her.
As soon as both her daughters as gone, Trina breaks down completely, covering her mouth with her hand in a desperate attempt to suppress her cries, but she knows it won’t be enough. She feels her kneels crumble and she slowly drops to the ground beneath her, feeling completely lost and helpless after seeing her daughters' reactions…
She can only hope now that after learning the truth, they will see that she only kept it from them for their own good… but it seems only time will be able to tell.
Meanwhile, in the hallways of the Black Moon Packhouse…
Kayla is following the scent of her sister and sprints towards that attention, soon being able to catch a glimpse of her turning into different corridors to make it into a different wing, one where her room is located.
“Naomi!” Kayla calls out once her eyes land on her, but despite hearing her sister’s calls, Naomi carries on walking forward with an angry strut, tears streaming down her face as she thinks of what her Mother revealed to her.
She can’t believe she kept the knowledge of Naomi having a half-sister away from them all this time. And she expects Naomi to just forgive that? There’s no way that’s happening...
“Naomi slow down!” Kayla continues to call her, watching as in a blink of an eye, Naomi takes off at super speed, in the hopes of getting to her room faster, but what she seems to have forgotten is that her sister is much, much faster than she realises it. The two of them rush through the Packhouse in a matter of moments, a golden and red blur travelling through the hallways until Kayla finally catches up to her sister as they reach the door of Naomi’s room.
As soon as she reaches it, she roughly opens the door and steps inside angrily, leaving the door open for Kayla to come in as well.
“I’m going to f*****g kill him…” Is the first thing Naomi says once she steps into the room, breathing heavily as she tries to keep her emotions at bay.
“Please calm down….” Kayla rushes out closes the door behind and rushes towards her, knowing that the person Naomi is talking about is none other than Raymond Black…
“Raymond is responsible for all of this…” Naomi continues to shake his head just as she turns around and faces her baby sister.
“He killed your birth parents… and who knows how many other innocent Lycans…” Naomi tells Kayla, not understanding why she isn’t as angry as Naomi is, considering how and what they’ve heard.
“He needs to answer for his crimes…” Naomi carries on just as Kayla continues to step closer to her and try and help her calm down.
“You’re not thinking straight right now…” Kayla says the wrong thing and it’s enough to set Naomi off considering how vulnerable she is right now.
“I’m not thinking straight?!” Naomi’s voice rises as she hears what Kayla just said to her, not appreciating the fact that her sister thinks she’s acting out of line.
“I’m fine Kayla! I mean it’s just a regular Tuesday where I’m finding out my sister and I share no blood relation and my Mother lied to me about my Father…” Naomi begins to laugh humorlessly as she paces around the room.
“Oh, oh-… Not just that, not just that-!” She carries on, her laughter becoming more nervous as more tears well in her eyes.
“But it turns out I have a half-sister too…?” Naomi asks Kayla and at this point, she completely breaks down and that’s when Kayla rushes over to her and engulfs her in a tender hug, holding her tightly in an attempt to put her at ease.
“I’m right here, Naomi… I’m right here with you…” Kayla says soothingly as she carefully rubs Naomi’s back, comforting her and listening to Naomi cry against her shoulder as she holds her tightly, both girls feel completely broken after what they learned today… but they know they’ll pick themselves up no matter what, and get the true answers they’re searching for…
