| 4 | There’s no such thing as a coincidence with us.

"Her name's Kayla.“ Mackenzie begins to tell Allison and Aelia, both of them keeping all their attention on Mackenzie and having no clue what’s been going on down in the South. All they know is that Mackenzie needed them to come down here as soon as possible because she may have found someone that might be of interest to them… as the descendants of the original 10 Viraanian bloodlines.

“She's originally from the Black Moon and was its Omega, but ran from her Pack after finding out her Mate was Damien Black, the former Alpha of the Black Moon. He threatened to reject her and that's when she bolted and found herself on Red Dawn territory..." Mackenzie starts explaining from the beginning, making sure that they will be up to date with every detail of what’s been happening.

"Last I knew my brother promised to kill any member of the Black Moon Pack that steps onto his territory... so how did she survive that?“ Allison shakes her head as she keeps her elbows on her knees, staring forward at Mackenzie in being completely engrossed in her story.

"It turns out Vincent is her Mate...“ Mackenzie explains and Allison raises her eyebrows slightly before she looks over at Aelia, seeing that she is equally surprised to hear the good news about Vincent finding his Mate, but they’re not sure if it’s entirely good news…

"So she has two Mates...?“ Aelia asks Mackenzie, making sure that she is following her explanation just as carefully as Allison is.

"Had. She did the ritual that determines who her true Mate was and it turned out to be Vincent…“ Mackenzie tells them, knowing they’re aware of the specific ritual she is talking about since she explained to them how she once had two Mates and had to do the same exact one.

"Just like you did..." Allison connects the dots and Mackenzie nods her head slowly, exhaling softly and being glad that they still remember the story she told them about having two Mates.

"Not just that, but apparently she had a late awakening, and was never able to shift until right before she found her second Mate. She's also not even 18 yet..." Mackenzie explains and Allison squints her eyes at Mackenzie, realising that she has a similar story to Kayla’s…

"Just like me finding Grayson before I turned 18...“ Allison says quietly, and her case was slightly different in the sense that she wasn’t able to tell that Grayson was her Mate, but Grayson could very easily tell that Allison was his Mate.

"Now here's the thing..." Mackenzie continues after nodding at Allison for confirmation.

"The first time we met... she started acting weird all of a sudden, right after I told her about the ritual she had to do in order to find out who was her true Mate. That's when she started burning up, as if she was getting a fever. And then she spoke in Viraanian... she said her Wolf spoke to her and was telling her that she is about to transform and she argued back saying she wasn't a Lycan...“ Mackenzie tells them, recalling the sequence of events that occurred during her first encounter with Kayla.

"She rushed out of the room before I could ask her any more questions, and that's when I picked up that her scent began changing, becoming incredibly difficult to pinpoint and that's when I knew what she was..." Mackenzie trails off, leaving the rest for them to figure out.

"A Lycan..." Aelia answers her with fascination, trying to see where Mackenzie is going with this.

"Describe her features..." Allison tells Mackenzie, having a deep, concentrated frown on her face and not breaking her gaze from Mackenzie for one second.

"Golden hair... golden eyes…“ Mackenzie answers Allison and watches as a confused expression slowly forms on Allison’s face and she slowly stands to her feet.

“And she was once an Omega…” Allison asks Mackenzie for confirmation just as both Aelia and Mackenzie watch Allison warily, Mackenzie sitting up slightly as her eyes follow Allison.

“Allison is there something you’re not telling us…” Mackenzie asks her, seeing Allison come to a stop and turn back around to face them, crossing her arms as she looks between Aelia and Mackenzie, exhaling slowly as she finally finishes recollecting a set of memories she had almost forgotten.

“When I battled Revar Mox, almost 2 years ago… and he was transporting us all over the place. He took us to this one place… a dark cell, somewhere I couldn’t recognise. In that cell was a girl, and I couldn’t tell what she was… a Human or an Omega…” Allison explains and at this point Mackenzie is standing as well, taking a step towards Allison and grasping every word that comes out of her mouth.

“As soon as she saw me… she called me Naomi…” Allison trails off and Mackenzie feels her heart drop at the mention of Naomi.

“Naomi… is the name of Kayla’s sister...” Mackenzie explains and at this point, Aelia is also standing to her feet, becoming completely uneasy as she looks between Aelia and Mackenzie, her heart racing at this newfound information, not being sure of how to process any of it.

“She’s the girl I saw…” Allison lets out before Mackenzie slowly nods her head. Allison’s description of Kayla aligns with everything she knows this far, so Mackenzie doesn’t have any reason to doubt the fact.

“Naomi is also who I was getting to. I also think she’s connected to all of this, the First Ones… and the bloodlines, all of it…” Mackenzie explains further and both Aelia and Allison take a step toward Mackenzie, eager to hear more of what Mackenzie knows.

“Tell us, Mackenzie.” Both Allison and Aelia say at the same time and Mackenzie nods her head a few times before she takes in a deep breath, making sure she has all her information in line before she can tell the two of them.

“Allison, you and Naomi... look extremely alike… you both have the same hair… the same eyes…” Mackenzie continues and Allison shakes her head a few times.

“And…?” Allison questions her, becoming impatient with getting to the bottom of all of this.

“She’s extremely powerful. She’s the new Alpha of the Black Moon Pack… and she somehow managed to defeat the former Alpha despite not having her abilities because Aremethium was used on her to take them away...” Mackenzie explains, remembering a few days ago when Naomi and Damien battle for the title of Alpha…

“Not just that. After her battle, she woke up completely healed from her injuries, injuries she sustained when she didn’t have her powers and if it were any ordinary person, they’d be dead. But she survived.” Mackenzie tells them and Aelia and Allison remain completely silent as they wait for Mackenzie to carry on.

“When she woke up she said she saw them…” Mackenzie finally says and Aelia is almost scared to ask her next question, so Allison does instead.

“Who?” Allison asks quietly and Mackenzie hesitates for a few seconds before she finally answers.

“Deimos, Alyna and Ailo…” Mackenzie finally says and as soon as she mentions that, she feels chills run through their bodies as they hear the names of the First Ones…

“Saw them… in a dream…?” Aelia asks, just so they can be sure of what Mackenzie is saying.

“Yes. She said they were arguing and telling each other that they can’t let her die… and the time draws near for everything to fall into place.” Mackenzie reiterates what Naomi had told her as soon as she woke up.

“Just like the dreams we were having Allison…” Aelia reminds Allison just as Allison nods her head a few times without looking at either of them, keeping her gaze on the floor as she continues to think carefully.

“They are connected to this somehow…” Allison says before she steps away from both Aelia and Mackenzie and begins to pace around the living room, all three becoming uneasy as they continue to connect all that they know.

“Now do you guys understand why I wanted you to get here as soon as possible…?” Mackenzie asks them and Aelia and Allison nod their heads in understanding, remaining silent for a few seconds before Allison quickly walks back to Mackenzie, uncrossing her arms and holding one hand out to her.

“So is Naomi a Lycan as well…?” Allison asks her, motioning with her hand as she speaks.

“Their features are very different… but they’re sisters…” Mackenzie answers her, only now making the realisation and frowning to herself once she sees how confused she’s become now.

“Could they be of different bloodlines…?” Aelia asks Mackenzie and she’s completely unsure of what to tell her, not having the answer to her question seeing as she also trying to figure things out for herself.

“I don’t know… but we’ll need to speak to them as soon as possible.” Mackenzie shakes her head before she remembers one other thing to tell them.

“There’s something else as well. Kayla awakened her powers…” Mackenzie tells them and their curiosity peaks even more, eager to hear what exactly Kayla’s powers are.

"What are they?" Allison asks quickly.

"Some sort of light energy… so far she can only project these incredibly bright beams of light.

“Mackenzie explains and Allison makes the connection based on what they’ve collected so far. Judging by her abilities and appearance, Allison has a good feeling she knows which First One Kayla is descended from.

"Deimos Achidan…“ Allison deadpans and Mackenzie slowly nods her head at her, Deimos being the exact person she was thinking of.

"Do you think she's somehow involved in all of this... with finding Aia and the others?“ Allison questions and the whole time, Aelia begins to pace around the room, whispering something to herself repeatedly.

"Aelia... what's wrong...?" Mackenzie asks instead of answering Allison’s question, both of them watching Aelia worriedly as she completely ignores them and continues to pace around.

"Kayla... Kayla... Kayla..." Aelia says over and over again before realisation forms on her face as she looks back at Mackenzie and Allison.

"Kayla... Kay… la... Al.. kay... Alkay… Alkei...“ Aelia finally says, the pronunciation of Kayla’s name changing to suit Aelia’s true Viraanian accent, and as soon as both Allison and Mackenzie hear that, their eyes widen before they look at each other with pure shock.

"No f*****g way…" Allison lets out and Mackenzie shakes her head in response, remembering the sigil they found almost an entire year ago, one where she and 3 others were somehow connected to finding Aia…

"That can't be a coincidence..." Mackenzie says, feeling a set of chills run along her body. Her gut feeling is telling her that Kayla may have been the person they’ve been looking for all this time.

"There's no such thing as coincidence with us..." Allison agrees with Mackenzie just as Aelia makes her way back to them.

"We know by now that we are all drawn to eachother..." Aelia lets out softly, not being able to ignore all the facts presented to them this far.

"Is there a way we can know for sure... ?”Allison asks Mackenzie and watches as Mackenzie stares at the floor for a few seconds, thinking carefully of what she will have to do now.

“We need to take a look at that sigil again… hopefully before both Naomi and Kayla get here…” Mackenzie informs them, wanting to be completely sure of her suspicions before she brings what they’ve found to Kayla and Naomi…
