Zion/Unknown

Zion It was the first time this week I’ve had more than five minutes alone, or guards not following me. I took advantage of that and headed down to the cells. I couldn’t risk being seen by anyone, so I pulled the hood of my cloak over my head as I descended the stairs. At the bottom, I took a left down a narrow hallway. On the wall at the end, there was a torch lit and I grabbed the stick, pulling the small lever next to it. The wall turned enough for a body to pass through, mine, and I quickly slipped inside. In here I didn’t have to worry about hiding my identity, I could just be me. The glamour I wore disappeared, leaving me in my own skin. I stretched and smiled. Deceiving the Princess was easier than I thought it would be. A muffled cry came from behind a door and I rolled my eyes before going over and opening the door. The body of a man fell forward and he groaned. “This isn’t a good look for you.” I said with a laugh as I took the gag off his mouth to give him a drink. I may be devious, but I’m not a monster. Plus, I need him alive to still use his image in my spell. “You will pay for this. My Princess will figure out it’s not me.” He spat and I couldn’t help but burst out laughing “Oh you poor thing. You actually believe that.” I moved away from him to get my own drink. “You’re Princess, doesn’t see a difference. The wedding is tomorrow, and my plan is working excellently. How could it not?” I grinned going over to my spell book. I needed to cook up something special for the drinks tomorrow, something that would leave everyone...detained. Just long enough for me to get away with the Princess and far away from here. They could have her when I was done draining every ounce of her blessed blood. The man that was tied up on my floor growled. “Aspen knows me. She will figure this out.” He said, eyes glowing. That was my cue to give him more wolfsbane. I needed him alive, but just barely. I could take care of him after tomorrow, it would make my life easier for sure. “Time for your medicine little wolf!” I said giddily and looked around for the herb. “This stuff is so pretty, yet so deadly. Much like the Princess herself.” I said as I pulled the liquid from the bottle with a syringe. He fought, like always, as I plunged it into his neck. “Nighty night.” I smiled and waved as his eyes closed. Just a little longer and I could get rid of him forever. I pushed him back into the closet and took a deep breath. I’d been gone too long, time to go back. I recast the glamour spell and left the secret room. ************************************* Unknown I couldn’t wait until tomorrow to see her again. I was sneaking through the castle as everyone was hustling around getting everything ready for the wedding. Something in my gut turned, I didn’t want to think about her getting married to someone else. I’d officially lost my mind, I was convinced. I crawled along in the dark parts of the huge stone castle, making my way to her room. I didn’t even know what I was going to say, or do, when I saw her. She has no idea who I am, or the fact that I’m here to kidnap her. Maybe I should leave that part out? “You think?” My wolf is holding back a chuckle, I can tell. I roll my eyes and creep along the hallways. No one has seen me yet, surprisingly. I could tell I was distracted, so I wasn’t on my A-game. I could smell her sweet scent as we got closer to her room and my wolf purred. Wait, what? I shook my head and peeked through the open door. I couldn’t see her, but I knew she was here, her scent was strong. I slipped in and closed the door behind me, locking it. I didn’t need any surprise visits from any groom-to-be’s. I looked around the room, quietly walking towards the curtained off area. There was a splash of water and I froze. She was bathing? My pants tightened and I nearly groaned. I tiptoed closer and could see her silhouette through the curtain. The curves of her body, the outline of her breasts..my wolf wanted her. I saw her turn her head, as if she could see me on the other side and I nearly whimpered. f**k. When had a woman ever done this to me? “If you’re here to kill me, you should really learn to hide your arousal. “ She called out and I heard the water splash again. The next thing I knew, the curtain was opening and she stood before me in a silk robe, hair up on top of her head, looking drop dead gorgeous. Her lips parted slightly at the sight of me and a small gasp escaped her. We stood there, starting at each other like nothing else mattered. I’d never wanted someone more in my life. I moved closer to her, but she didn’t take step back like I thought she would. Could she feel this pull too? Her eyes were wide and glassy, as if she were about to cry. “This is not possible. “ She managed to whisper as soon as I stepped in front of her. I had no idea what she was talking about. “You- you can’t be. That would make three, that’s impossible. “ She kept babbling, but her eyes stayed locked on me trying to figure out if I was real or not. I placed my hand on her cheek and the sparks that ignited almost made me jerk my hand away. I felt her lean into my touch and sigh. “What’s impossible darling?” I ask, my voice sounding huskier than I remember. She was mine, I knew it now. No one else was going to have her. Mate. “You’re my mate.” She whispered, and I nodded, still not understanding what made it impossible so she continued. “I-I had a mate. I rejected him. “ I nodded, knowing she was talking about the Prince. “And then..Zion. He’s my second chance mate.” She knitted her eyebrows together, trying to figure this out. My wolf growled and she flicked her eyes up to mine. “Mine.” I growled, well, he growled and she shook her head, pulling herself from my touch. I hated the loss. What had gotten into me. I was never like this. “I can’t be yours. “ She whispered, her voice breaking as the hurt of the words poked through. “He’s not your mate. Please, please leave with me.” I couldn’t return her to my employer now. I’d have to make up a story, or kill him. “Kill him. He wants what’s ours.” My wolf growled and I nodded in agreeance with him.  “What’s your name?” Her sweet voice came through as she took the step back towards me. I normally didn’t tell anyone my name, it wasn’t useful. But she was mine, she needed to know what to scream out while I’m making her see stars. “Caleb.”
