Chapter Ten Bryan waited nervously in the lobby of the building. Ten past the hour, then twenty, and then nearly forty minutes beyond the scheduled time, he was about to call, leave, do something. His heart was sinking fast. How would she even get a hold of him, if her plans had changed? Then the taxi drove up to the curb, and she emerged with the brilliance he remembered. She looked harried tugging the bags from the taxi, and he was on the street quickly to help her with them. “I’m late.
