ARIANA MORIGAN
“You’re already married and someone else’s wife, but you still dare to set foot in the Morigan family home?” Elara quipped arrogantly when she saw me coming into the house.
“Even though I’m married to someone else, I’m still part of this family as long as Dad is alive. I came to visit and see him. Not to find trouble with you,” I replied.
“Wow, are you good at talking now? Did your ex-convict husband teach you to fight and argue? Oh, I heard he was imprisoned for killing someone. How was it? Was he brutal to you?”
I actually didn’t want to respond to Elara’s comment. But my heart ached so much when I remembered the marriage that was forced on me.
“You should be careful with your words. Shouldn’t that ex-convict be your husband?” I replied.
Elara got angry and raised her hand. She was about to slap me, but our mother came and stopped her.
“Can’t you two calm down? Why are you two always arguing?”
“Mom, I came to visit Dad, and to collect on your promise.”
“What did you say?” my mother said sarcastically. “Collect a promise? We never promised you anything.”
I immediately panicked. “What do you mean, Mom? You can’t lie to me. You promised to give me the dowry money for Dad’s treatment if I marry Sylas and replace Elara. Why are you still locking Dad up at home? Shouldn’t he be hospitalized?”
“The dowry money we promised for your Dad’s medical expenses I’ve spent to buy this limited edition bag. It’s costly, almost 600 million. It’s a shame if that much money is wasted on useless hospital bills. Besides, Dad has no hope of living. Just let him die slowly in his room!” Elara said with an evil look.
I was furious. “Why are you so cruel? If it weren’t for Dad, how could you enjoy a prosperous life in the pack Fenrir? After all, he is the Alpha, the pack’s leader, and the Morigan company’s owner,” I growled.
Mother then slapped me hard until I fell down. My temple hit the corner of the table. It hurt so much. My vision darkened for a moment, and blood began to flow from my torn temple.
“How dare you speak!” Mother growled. “If it weren’t for the presence of your mother, who is a p********e, of course, our family would be fine until now. Your father got his karma. Because he betrayed me. The wealth he collected should indeed belong to me and Elara. Just let your father suffer and get his punishment until death comes,” said her.
I was helpless. “Okay, I will follow your game, Mom. You are free to treat me as badly as you have always done. But, I will not be willing if you hurt Dad. I will expose all your lies in front of Sylas. Let him decide for himself what he will do to you!”
“Damned girl!” shouted Elara. “Are you threatening us? Are you trying to trade places with me? You’re just a poor girl who lived in the village before being adopted by Dad. You’re the only one who’s worthy and suitable to marry a former criminal like Sylas!”

ALDERON FEROX
I was working out at home to kill time. That’s when my phone rang. Cassian was calling me.
“In the middle of the night like this?” I muttered. “Hello, what’s wrong?” I asked Cassian.
“Alderon, it seems like your guess is wrong. I’ve sent someone to follow your wife. She did go to pack Fenrir, but she came out of there a short time later with a b****y forehead. According to my informant, she was insulted by her stepsister and stepmother.”
“What do you mean Cassian? Didn’t they meet to plot against me?”
Cassian sighed tiredly, “My informant got something different. Your wife came to ask for a dowry and visit her father. However, she was not given the chance to meet her father who was sick. She was even sent away disrespectfully and not given the chance to stay even for one night. She also did not get a single penny as a dowry from her family.”
I frowned. How could this be? Why did everything not happen according to my expectations? Ariana should have gone there to discuss the evil plan they would do to me. What the hell? What exactly was going on?
“Alright,” I said to Cassian. “You keep an eye on her and keep me informed of every detail.”

ARIANA MORIGAN
I wandered aimlessly after leaving the Morigan family’s house in pack Fenrir. I was too embarrassed to go back to Sylas’ house right now. But I also had no idea where to spend the night. I didn’t even get a chance to see Dad.
“Miss Ariana?” greeted someone from a distance while carrying a shopping bag. When we got close, I recognized her.
“Aunt Rania? Nice to see you. I missed you so much.” We hugged with tears streaming down our faces. She was the housemaid of the Morigan family.
“Miss Ariana, what happened to you? You’re hurt!” She tried to touch my bleeding temple, but I avoided her.
“I’m fine, Aunt.”
“Is this their doing again?” She looked worried. “Why are you on the street at this hour?”
“They kicked me out.” I burst into tears again. “I wasn’t given the chance to meet Dad.”
Aunt Rania immediately got angry. “Miss Ariana, you should save Alpha Talon immediately. They never treat Alpha Talon well. He needs immediate treatment. Meanwhile, Mrs. Astrid and Miss Elara only give him very inappropriate food. They also often shout at and mistreat him. We servants are also not allowed to serve him.”
I became even sadder when I heard Aunt Rania’s explanation. After all, it was Dad who saved me from the coldness of the orphanage after Mom died. Dad was so kind and loved me. Since he was sick, he has been disrespected in this house.
I can accept insults and harsh treatment from both my stepmother and my stepsister. They constantly tortured me without Dad’s knowledge. But I can’t take it if Dad is treated so lowly and badly, like an animal. Daddy is sick.
“Aunt, please take care of Dad. I will definitely come back to take him out of there!”
Aunt Rania nodded. “I have to go home soon. If not, Madam will be angry.”
I just nodded at Aunt Rania. We parted with tears streaming down our faces. The only hope I have now is the ring I inherited from Sylas.
I didn’t go straight home to Sylas’s house. I went to the shopping centre and entered a small jewellery store. I was very hesitant when I was about to enter, but I had no other choice.
“What can I help you with, Miss?” said the shop owner.
“Can you check and estimate the price of this item?” I asked as I handed the jewellery box to the shop owner.
At first, he accepted it indifferently. Once he saw the box’s contents, he looked surprised and glanced at me repeatedly.
“Miss, is this ring really yours?”
“Yes, sir. This is a gift from my husband’s family. Is this a fake ring?”
The man even had to take some tools to check the ring repeatedly. I don’t know what he was trying to ascertain from the object. Then he shook his head in surprise.
“Are you sure you want to sell it, Miss? If you really intend to sell it to me, I won’t be able to pay for it.”
I was even more confused. “Actually, I came here just to know the estimated price of this ring. I thought this was just a fake ring that had no value.”
“You’re wrong, Miss!” the man stared at him thoughtfully.
