The Reunion

In 1998 after I finished my exams I moved back to my Island as it was the school holidays. Even though I was been approached by several other suitors my mind was always on my Dreamy eyed Samuel. I missed him so sorely but communication and distance were a big challenge between us. The year after I took a break from studies and stayed with my sister at an Island resort that she and her husband worked at. It was here that I learned to let my butterfly of love fly and my only hope was the love I had for him and knew deep down that if it ever flew back then it was mine to keep. The year that followed 2000 I went back to the Capital City enrolled myself in Computer studies during the first semester and then later enrolled in the School of Hospitality and Tourism Studies in the second semester. I loved my new learning environment and I made a lot of new friends but my mind never failed to forget my Mr. Handsome who was neatly stacked in a corner of my heart. During this year of studies, I dated two other guys, one a University student and the other a Welding Company owner, neither of them stole my heart as Sam did. In 2001 while enrolling again for a Semester to continue my studies I worked for the City Apartments as a Receptionist and later in February I was offered a job as an Office Administrator for an Engineering firm. I loved this job very much as I was able to support myself with the income I had earned. As classes resumed in the last week of January, the student of the Hospitality school were hyped to attend the Inter Volleyball championships. As plans were underway, my 2 friends and I decided we would go along to watch the games. We then made plans and put in to pay for a room where the three of us would stay. We left on a Friday afternoon and stayed at a cheap hotel on the Outskirts of the Burning West town, where the tournament was being hosted. The next morning we got up early, showered, and took a walk to town for some much-needed breakfast before we strolled on to the park where the games were being held. The games had already started and we stood around watching our mixed Team play. We cheered and enjoyed the exposure with other Hoteliers from different big Resorts. It was almost lunchtime but because we had a heavy breakfast I was not in the mood for lunch but was deciding on going back to the Hotel for a nap because the heat was so unbearable. It was the last game I decided to watch before I would take a cab to head back to the hotel and as I watched along I could feel that some boys from across the Volleyball court that I was watching from were pointing at me. So the girls that stood near me all pointed at me and as I looked I asked again if they really were calling me. I looked out in the hot sun and couldn’t recognize any of them so I told my girlfriend Minnie that I didn’t know any of them. It was then that Minnie told me “MJ why don’t you take a step and take yourself nearer because obviously one of them knows you”. So I took that bold step and walked nearer feeling embarrassed as all the girls from my school watched me. As I walked nearer he took of the polo hat that he had on and that’s when I finally recognized him. Without hesitation, I ran up and as a little kid would jump at his daddy I did the same and hugged his neck. We embarrassed and it felt good and I felt so many butterflies just flying in my stomach. “ OMG so my Sam is still alive”, I whispered in his ear. “Yes my love, I'm still here waiting for you”, he whispered back. We stood and I told him I was just planning to go back to the hotel for a dip in the pool and a nap. I walked back to Minnie my friend to inform her that I was going to take the lead to go back to the hotel. “And will you tell me whos our mysterious man,” she said. “ Yes Minnie remember I told you that I had one true love who was MIA, well that’s him”, I replied. Minnie couldn’t believe her eyes and slowly she said, “OH you’re one lucky b***h”. We had our girly laugh and handshake before I went to join my man. We strolled into town bought some nibbles and caught a taxi to the Hotel. As we left the Reception desk to walk upstairs, he just couldn’t resist himself but hold my hand and even before I opened the door of the room, he turned my back to the door and there we kissed so passionately that all the memories of him just came flooding back. After that reunion kiss, I then managed to open the door and as we walked in, he just kicked the door shut and we were just like old times, melting in each other’s arms and before we knew it we had taken each other’s clothes off and were on the bed making passionate love once again. The lovemaking that I had only imagined for the last three years. After that first round, we both felt happy to be in each other’s arms again and stood and both had a long shower just kissing and embracing missing our long-lost time. We laughed and just enjoyed each other’s company with nibbles and soft drinks before we lay in bed and talked about our last three years apart. Before I knew it, I had fallen asleep and there Sam lay just massaging my head and watching me sleep. It was on until after 6 pm when my friends arrived and they both shook hands with Sam and soon as we talked and started taking turns in the shower readying ourselves for another evening.
