“You did this to win the bet?” Alison almost screamed.
“Not just to win the bet.” Harker reached for her, but she backed away.
She didn’t want him touching her...ever. “I can’t believe you...you did this. You broke the contract.”
“I did not break the contract.” His eyes hardened. “I’d never break the contract.”
“Never. Ha.” She threw up her hands. “You were going to break it on our wedding night when you went looking for sex.”
“I didn’t break the contract then and I didn’t break it now. It states that you can hire your team, but it doesn’t say that I can’t hire someone for your team. What’s not in the contract is as important as what is. I’m surprised your lawyer didn’t mention that.”
“Oh...well, he didn’t.” She hadn’t bothered to hire one.
