“What are you doing home?” I asked Nick and Doug as they came in.
“Oh, we kinda quit,” Doug said with a shrug. “And we had to get Ophelia out of there pretty quick.”
“Ophelia?” I said in shock and hurried to the window. I peered out to see Luke and the pretty girl standing face to face talking. “What happened?”
“She had to go back to get her purse,” Doug explained. “Had a run in with Roland and Skyler, broke Skyler’s arm and I caught her trying to run away. I managed to sweet talk her into coming back here to talk to Luke.”
“Well hot dam, Doug,” I said. “I may have you help me find Ryan’s girl.”
“I got plenty of time now,” he said.
