Chapter Six Shiver in my bones.   Third Person’s Point of View The visions are getting a tad bit dangerous. From the second she opened her eyes, her breathing felt so constricted. Is this what the human calls fear? ...or is it guilt? She was sure that it was either the two.  Her mind would have been in ease if it was all a night-filled terror. She is willing to spend sleepless nights in order to avoid those visions from actually happening. However, the world could be a tad cruel. All she is seeing is a part of a possible future, and it is terrifying. From the second that the female wolf had left her domain, she had been having a vision of the human that she had tampered with. Why does that small child have to undergo such pain?  As a Mage who has the ability to see visions, she is well aware that it was her duty to make sure that the future would not change for the worse. People relied on her since a single mistake on her side would have caused a major catastrophe in the world.  She knew that. That is the reason why thoroughly think things.  So why?  Why did she see such a tragic future for the world? All the bad things that could happen were well directed on the werewolves. It was not her problem to meddle in their affairs, but she had felt guilty knowing that she had a say in that young wolf’s actions.  She had caused that.  “Is there something wrong, Mistress?”  Surprised by the words, she looked back to see one of the faes that served her. The small one offered her a look of worry, a normal reaction for such gentle creatures. Instead of answering her, Amber motioned the small one to keep distance.  Amber needed that.  From the worries and darkness that the future hold, she could hardly contain her power. The last thing she wanted would be to hurt any of her faes. All of these creatures provide great care of the Nature, and were all loved by their creator. Amber does not want to make the Mage of Nature angry.  “Mistress?” Lily, the small fae had called her again, her words soft and solemn. “You look pale. We could make you a healing potion if you wanted. Niall could perform a ritual for you, too.”  Needing to calm her down, the Mistress answered. “I am fine, it is nothing.” “I doubt that,” another fae entered, making her roll her eyes. “You have been having some sleepless nights. With how you are reacting, I reckon that something is bugging you.”  A sigh escaped from Amber. Nial is an intelligent fae, and she knew that she could never hide things from this man. “Fine. I am seeing the future by their every move. The Werewolf King holds a terrible future, and he is carrying his people along with it. From the look of things, it would cause decades of war. A lot of bloodsheds is serving in our way.” As the Mistress who guides the forest, she could feel all that heard them shivered into fear. Nial could see the hesitation in her eyes. Being careful with his words, he pressed. “You are not scared because you are tied in this place. What are you worried about, Mistress?”  The same question dawned on her.  She is the one tied to rule over the Enchanted Forest, a place that is guarding the werewolves. Normally, she could tie her relation to the forest and go her merry way. It was a normal thing to do when a war ever arises.  ...so why is she worried?  Maybe it was because of the fact that a human is getting in the middle of it.  The small child that she had tied into this whole war would be getting burned into a world that is unknown to her, all because the Alpha King has her for a mate. While Bea was the King's rightful mate, their bond had ended from the second that her mate had accepted the throne. The way that their link was working is merely nothing but a gift to them.  Technically, the two are not even mates anymore.  They were nothing but people who had joined perfectly. Blayze Hawthrone, despite his accession into the throne, had not lost his ability to have a mate. That being said, it would not be a surprise when the female human’s presence and identity would cause nothing but chaos in the world of the werewolves. But was she really going to stand there doing nothing? “You cannot make a change in their futures.” Niall reminded her, knowing what was going into her mind. “Despite the nature of your power, our kind can never bend their futures. We will only make them suffer harder if we tried to help.” But why was she seeing this? No other witch had this vision from before. From the second that the oldest witch had died due to murder, she was having the image of the future Queen. Nothing else was visible, so she could not help other travelers. Why was she seeing this? “Ockgla, I need you to come here.”  Hearing the Mistress called him, the fae grew defeated. As one of her servants, Ockgla walked towards the Mistress with a bow. Ockgla is a type of fae that is naturally dangerous. She is a type of entity that could kill anyone that touches her. The Mistress had given her both love and affection, which made her a calming fae. She has thorns still guarded on the left side of her arms, but the other side was already covered with flowers.  “Would it be possible for you to let me have your blooms?” She asked, careful.  The entity looked at her, worried. “Mistress, you know what that means.” “I can take it,” Amber replied, knowing the pain that will course through her. But she could not idle by. There must be a way that she could help such a pitiful person. “Mistress, you know how dangerous tampering into the future would affect you,” Nial muttered, stopping her from touching Ockgla. “May I remind you that you are the only descendant of your kind. If you die, the seekers will end indefinitely. The realm needed your ability and you are tasked to guide us.” Despite hearing such words, the Mistress still stands her guard. “I cannot reject the part of me that needed to save that child. We are talking about a human who will suffer a painful cycle of torture. Besides, I will not change anything. All I would do is give her a push.” “But you will change her destiny, Mistress,” Nial grumbled.  Amber did not even replied. She only offered her hand to Ockgla, clearly still determined as she was a couple minutes ago. The fae bites his lips, knowing that the Mistress can never get swayed anymore. It was the thing that had been bugging Amber for the time that the wolf had come.  The Mistress was slowly losing the light in the holy land and this is probably the only thing that could help her. For her sake, the fae does hope so. . . The door opened with a soft creak.  A sob escaped from the room, knowing what that sound means. Her body shuddered, both sweat and blood combined as she cried. She could still feel the way the knife had pierced in her skin, or how she lost consciousness due to the continuous draining of her blood. The woman felt positivity weak that she wanted to die.  “What in the world.”  Despite the exhaustion and pain that corrupt her body, she looked at the one who had uttered such words. It felt different, so she had some sense of hope. Instead of seeing the same brown hair and hazel skin, she was surprised to see another. It was a woman with long black hair and piercing red eyes.  Hesitating, she asked. “W-who are you?”  “Amber,” The Mistress replied, frowning. “What is your name, child?”  “Dyci Rhodes.”  The Queen of the Werewolves, one who will die in the hands of the world that she had talked to and the reason why the werewolves would retaliate to the one who had helped that small brown-haired wolf. She could very much see why this child had died in the future.  She is very much dead, only holding on a thin line.  “What did she do to you, child? That woman is vicious than what I had credited her to be.” Her voice was soft as she looked at the human before her. “Please help me,” Dyci whispered, tears streaming to her eyes. To see the future acting like what she had predicted had broken her on the inside. She knows what this future holds and it was breaking her inside knowing the pain that this child will go through in order to engage the werewolves to end a long subdued feud.  A human would be a sacrifice in order to achieve that, along with numerous humans and paranormal who will be joining in the long war.  Amber only frowned, kneeling to her side as she whispered. “I am so sorry, but I cannot do that.” Dyci cried, her body breaking into knowing the pain she will have to suffer. This was the first person who had seen her in this place, the first thing she had seen after her parents were killed before her eyes.  Why is this happening to her?  What did she do?  “Please.” She pleaded, moving the chains but it was not able her to move closer to the comforting woman. “I am begging you, please let me go. If you can’t, just kill me! I can not take this anymore! Please just end it here.” The woman frowned, shaking her head. “You can not escape until a man with black hair and deep blue eyes had saved you. If you see a point where you can escape, do not. You will eventually die.” Dyci did not understand what was happening or why she was in this mess. To tell her that she would die if she escapes, something that she had tried a couple of times was making things harder for her. She knows that she will die if she had remained in this room. “Please.” She continued bargaining for her release but the woman is adamant about not helping her.  Then why is she here?  “Your present is terrifying, I know.” The woman frowned, a little sigh escape from her lips as she touched the child's forehead. “But I assure you that I will do my best in order to make your future bright. You will hold the power to help others in your kind.” She didn’t know what the woman was saying. Her body was close to exhaustion that she had only fallen into her knees as she had slept. The old witch looked at the human with nothing but pity. It was the first human that she had touched, someone she had given something to help her live. “I do not normally do things like this.” She murmured, looking around as she blows a cold wind around. While it would not do much for her, it will restraint the woman for days to do something else to her. “Please gather your strength, little Wolf Queen. You will need it for the storm that is coming your way.”
