Chapter Four The one who was raising suspicion Third Person’s Point of View “Tate, you useless piece of s**t!” He grumbled, face slamming into the table as someone had smacked him in the head. A small frown etched into his face as he caressed the area in which he was hit, clearly not fond of getting hurt in such an early hour without even aware of what he had done. Still blinking away his sleep-deprived self, he blinked at the woman with confusion. Rush seemed furious, a look that he had not seen from the Princess before. Had he done something in his sleep? He couldn't have. After all that had happened last night, he was sure that he had slept fine. It was bright and early, clearly not the right time to spit nothing but such crude words to him when he had only woke up from his slumber. He had looked to Rush, who was looking at him as if he had killed someone whom he should not have. To which never happened. Well, only once. But that was a different case. “What did I do now?” He asks, frowning as he holds the side of his head, which does hurt from what she had done. From the second that her eyes grew nothing but intensified into him, a small gulp escaped from lips as he had backed away from the scene and frowned at her. “I do not remember you telling me that I needed to wake up earlier than I usually do.” Tate cannot do anything but raise his hand in surrender, as her face was getting angrier by the second that he was talking. “Can you please tell me what I did so we can get over this, Rush?” “You lead him in the wrong place!” She screamed, hitting his head. “Ow!” He reacted, holding his head as a frown etched on his face. “What the f**k are you saying!?” Rush could not be stopped, and none of his words seemed to reach her. This was natural when it comes to her. Whenever she knew that someone had f****d up, she will not hesitate to throw her hands. Not one could even bother to stop her. After all, the Queen Mother was the one who had passed such a questionable defense mechanism. “Calm the f**k down and explain everything!” She gritted her teeth, hands still pouncing on his back. “You useless brown-eyed demon who only knows how to f*****g flirt and not navigate in the right direction! What is the use of that pretty eyes if you do not use it!” “Than-ow! That really- hey!” Tate could not get a word out when she continued babbling things that he could not even decipher. For someone who has remarkable abilities, she does have some feisty temper. He almost felt bad for her mate. “Why did you lead Blayze in the wrong direction, you useless mongrel!” Tate only grabbed her arms before she could flail it again to his face and beat him to death. While he would allow Rush to hurt him when she wanted to, there were days that he clearly opposed it. That is only the rare time when he knew that what he was getting convicted in is something that he did not do. It is quite rare, but it exists when the moon perfectly aligns to his advantage. Aside from that, he knew better than anyone that this woman would cry and beat him much more from the second that she had realized that she had thought wrong. Princess Averush Tinsley Hawthrone is complicated as one would think. Confused as he was, he only replied. “I did not do anything of what you are accusing me, Rush. Blayze is the one who had lead the search. He navigated all our entrances and passages. My guidance was not needed as you were the one who had given him instructions. He was the one who had to seek your image, not me. We were in the place that you linked him in.” “What?” She breathes, clearly confused. For a second, what Tate was saying did make some sense. Rush showed her brother where they needed to go, so even someone as stupid as Tate could not have ruined anything. Remembering that it was her fault, her hands fall to her side. Why did Blayze found that woman? How could that be possible? Rollia Cord? Why is she there? ...and why is that woman claiming that the family that had died in that house was hers? Something was not adding up in here. While she did not have the heart to tell Blayze that Rollia was not the woman he was paired with, Rush also did not know how she would convey it. There seemed to be a part of her that couldn't, maybe one afraid that he would not believe her. It was true that she had told them the location, and based on their stories, they saw her in the same state as Rush has told them… …but why was Rollia there? She had seen a different woman, someone who was smaller than her and paired with such beautiful long hair. The woman that Rush had seen has golden blonde hair, pale skin, and doe brown eyes. It was not Rollia. Not only did that she-wolf did not fit the description that she had seen, but Rush is also sure that her brother's mate is a human. Not a werewolf. “We were actually surprised to see Rollia,” Tate whispered, still bothered by last night's event. Circling back to what had happened, he was sure that Blayze seemed confused upon seeing the human. One who does not know him well would see that nothing is wrong. However, the Werewolf King displayed a lot of red flags last night. Tate knew that something was wrong from the second that he had seen Rollia in that room. The second that the King seemed to be confused about the situation is enough to raise suspicion. However, it seemed like all were being quiet in hopes of protecting Rush's ability. Blayze had never reacted other than civil to the woman. He treated her as a normal pack member, nothing more and nothing less. All could see that Rollia is adamant about advancing into his love, and he had done nothing but remind her that there would be reaping. In reality, Blayze pushed her backward not because he was always meant to have a reaping, but he had confessed that she seemed too suspicious. There are episodes of werewolves falling for another, but Rollia seemed obsessed rather than in love. With this, Blayze had quietly dismissed her of her duties in the royal palace. He knew that she would only cause conflict for his Queen. So when Blayze saw him in that room, he had almost taken a step back. She was someone he does not want to condone himself in. Never did he put any attention on her, and now she was the mate? It did not make any sense, what-so-ever. All of these are nothing but unusual. Even if werewolves are not aware of their mates, all tend to be docile when meeting them earlier than they usually do. After all, the wolf already knows before the human ever does. So why does Blayze felt repulsive by the touch of the woman before? "Imagine my reaction when you all came back with her." Rush replied. Rollia is not a bad person in nature, but she had always been in the pack, and to hear that Blayze was not aware of it when the woman was with him all through the time does speak something odd from them. She is just misguided, and Blayze is kind enough to fix that quietly rather than putting her in such dangerous situations. As wolves gifted with mates, they were aware that love would blossom even at a young age. It was the same thing that had happened to his parents. So what made Blayze so different? “Are you sure that you’re not just trolling us with your visions?” Tate questioned lightly, following with his groan as the woman had jabbed him in the stomach. Holding his stomach, he had looked at her with such an annoyed expression. “That one really f*****g hurt, Rush.” She smiled. “Good, I wanted it to hurt. I would never do that to Blayze, and you all know that. Something happened last night, that is for sure.” “He was really elated when he heard that he has a mate,” Tate mumbled. It was confusing that Rollia had entered the palace; she could not see any vision from the woman hat she had seen. Where was she? Rolling her eyes, Rush had to think about the situation further. How could someone like Rollia end up in that place? Did the future change? …or did someone tampered into it? “Wait, are you really telling me that Rollia is not Blayze’s mate?” Tate questioned, looking at her with nothing but interest. He really does not like serving someone of that nature. Thinking about it felt repulsing, like his skin burning by the thought. Not only that- but his wolf really does not like being one step near her. That alone is an indication that she is not the Queen. For no werewolf would not bow down to the rightful person in the throne. Rollia had paused her walk from the conversation that idle in the hallway. Since she is still not the Queen, there was still no attendant on her side. This seemed to work in her favor because she did not like another wolf hearing this. Gossips naturally dawn in servants, and she did not want the news of her being a fake swirling around the palace. She was confused as to how they could be already aware of it. Nothing had happened while she was awake right? No. “I am sure that it was not her,” answered Rush. The tone of the voice is familiar. Rollia felt her blood boil, her hands fisting to her sides by the thought that someone like Rush continued getting on her way. Being an adopted daughter, she had caught the respect of others despite not showing her face. Rush had done everything she could to keep Blayze away from Rollia. But she could have no hold on him now that he had believed that Rollia is his mate. None of them could stop her reign now. Rollia knew that inflicting pain on her would not benefit others. Blayze would protect his mate, no matter the cause. Things are not like before. She was not the same warrior who would fight for the kingdom. Right now, the man of her dreams is seeing her as someone important. Walking out of sight, her mind grew busy. Rollia wanted to show how much she could control the King. It seemed like people around still do not understand what her title holds. Being a Queen means having everyone, including the King, kneeling before you. It is not customary, but she is known to be his mate. Not the woman who had won the Reaping. Rush will see that even if the man was her brother, she could never come first when it comes to the mate. It is about time that she had dragged that adopted b***h out of her high horse. She is not even announced as a proper Princess; how dare she defy her? Rollia will tear that woman down and everyone else who had done the same to her. They will see the power that she holds now. She will now be their very Queen, no one else. Blayze Hawthrone belongs to her.
