Chapter 10. Swindled

1411 Words
Brice silently turns to dismiss the secretary. With a smile on his face he thanks her and quickly walks down to where his mate's intoxicating scent is coming from. He doesn't knock just heads straight in making his face return to neutral even though the scent hits him head on like a bus. Wrath looks worn out his head in his hands in defeat. Brice slightly smirks. His mate needs him far more than even he had anticipated. Wrath doesn't look up to address his mate. "Did you perhaps bring me coffee?" Wrath mumbles aloud knowing he doesn't smell any coffee. "Would you like me to get you a coffee?" Brice says gently in a trance wanting to ease his mate's mind. He would definitely get him a coffee if he wants all he has to do is ask President or not. Wrath doesn't answer. Brice puts his briefcase down and slow advances towards his mate. This is painful for Brice to the point he can barely take air into his lungs this whole office consumed in Wraths scent. He hurts so bad tears prick his eyes and his legs threaten to give way to the floor with every step closer he takes. Wraths breathing intensifies his body stiffens knowing Brice is coming closer he can even smell the tears that threaten to spill over his mate's eyes but sits frozen in his current position. His wolf not letting him move a muscle letting their mate creep in closer wanting him close. Brice places his hands on Wrath's stiff shoulders and with a little force massages them. Wrath moans lightly. The tingles flowing up Brice's hands up his arms traveling through his body is something only in his best of memories.  He feels the tears for his loss and longing for his mate along with the pain in his chest start to spill over. Just when Wrath was finally relaxed and feeling better he hears the clunk of his mate hitting the floor. Wrath taking control over his wolf and Immedently stands and assesses Brice. The tear streaks that track down his cheeks tugs heavy on Wrath's chest and paining him and his wolf. Wrath knows the only thing he can do for his mate is to move him over to the couch and leave his presence. It was because he was so close for so long that this happened.  He couldn't deny that the sparks and tingles that flowed through his shoulders and Brices contact soothed him like nothing else ever has. He had forgotten just how good they felt it had been so long. Picking Brice up in his arms his wolf purred in his head at the sparks that tingled and flowed through his arms to his heart and his stomach giving Wrath an insta hard making him blush in embarrassment for his bodily reaction. He places Brice down on the couch and looks him over a moment before moving away and opening a nearby window.  Then Wrath takes his seat back at his desk never taking his eyes off him. Wondering how they ended up like this and why Brice of all the wolves in the world was given to him as his mate. Wrath remembers when they were so close. Back in school, they were sought out by many chicks. They were the football stars the basketball champs. They did everything together from camping, fishing, they even snuck out and drank liquor behind their parent's backs.  They were so close his father even made Brice his future Beta. Wrath not so sure now if it was a good thing but Brice had been improving the whole pack lately and hopefully can get them out the debt the company was buried in. All that though didn't change the fact he was his best friend only friend at one time. It was all ruined now. He doesn't feel the Moon Goddess is right. The way Brice asked him if he wanted him to get him a coffee or the way he came and massaged his shoulders knowing the pain he would be in only leaves him confused. His wolf wants his mate. His wolf loves Brice's touch smell down to every last thing about him but Wrath only wanted his best friend, not all the emotions that are now strung between them.  He remembers the night his wolf took over and they created Itsy. Brice had cornered him begging him to give them a shot. To make love to him one time and if it didn't change his mind he wouldn't push any longer. Wrath not really wanting to know but slightly curious let his wolf take his bodily form over not shifting but no longer in charge of his actions. He had some control like the fact Brice doesn't bare his mark cause that was one thing his wolf had his mindset on and marking his mate was a top priority.  Wrath remembers all too well how it felt taking his virginity. He guesses that's what it was the blood and all still fresh on his memory. How even during this mind-blowing s*x he shed tears for he felt disgusted with himself but at the same time it was the best in all his relationships. He would gag from time to time causing Brice to also shed tears for Wrath's actions only let him know he was disgusted and all at the same time it felt right and wrong. Shaking his head Wrath comes back to reality. Is everything he believed wrong? Could they really be destined? Itsy threw everything he ever thought about his and Brice being mates for a loop. Wrath was stubborn though and felt wronged and messed up maybe if he loved Brice or dude's maybe but he didn't. Brice suddenly opens his eyes with a deep breath he sits up not even daring to set eyes on his mate. He hated how the bond always made him look so weak in front of Wrath. He didn't come back to be weak but to show his strengths and be the Luna he should be, taking care of his pack's needs. Then hopefully later gaining his mate in the process. Brice stands smoothing his suit out walking over to the bathroom inside Wraths office shutting the door behind him.  He washed his face and took a couple towels drying it and stepped back out as if nothing had ever occurred. "Arrange a meeting for all the managers of each division. I went over stats and procedures all week. Each division and some more than others have too much slack and error in their field of work. One in particular has even been stealing funds from the company for quite some time trying to develop his own company. He was very smart in his coverings but not quite smarter than the tech. guys I know." Brice states opening his briefcase still not looking at Wrath but feeling Wrath eyeing him. Wrath was shocked he himself had been looking for where the money had been leaking from for months now it was the sole reason he was in debt but not entirely.  Wrath picked up his phone and contacted his secretary and ordered a meeting for all the managers of every field in one hour in the board room. A file with papers drops before him on his desk already filled with papers. Wrath grabbed them after hanging up and quickly looks each over. Brice taking his seat back at on the couch typing madly on his laptop. "This is millions of dollars." Wrath mumbled upon seeing how much he had been swindled over the last few years.  "I can't believe he of all the people I mean my father trusted him." Wrath goes on in bewilderment. Without looking up Brice responds uninterested almost like. "I assure you he is the one the proof is all there. I want the PD called and proof of his thievery faxed over and after the meeting, I want him arrested we may still be able to obtain some of the funds he has stolen but most likely not." Brice continues his typeing.  Wrath nods in agreement even though Brice didn't see him. This was his first run-in with money being swindled from his company and it took all this time to track him down. If not for Brice the company would be bankrupt in as little as four months.
