Chapter Seven

Wolfy

"Rise and shine. It's moving day."RB knocks on the bedroom door.

"I am up. I promise I am up."Wolfy yells back through the door.

"Morning dear. Breakfast is ready. The house is totally packed up and ready to go. You can thank the trading post for providing breakfast to all of us moving today."Dove serves everyone and gets final things cleaned up.

Loading the trucks, the families finally head to Moon Village. The trip there seemed long to wolfy. Not being ready to move didn't help. Fawn and Ducky try to convince her that school will be fun and exciting , but Wolfy just couldn't agree with them.

Arriving at their new home, RB and his family were greeted by the chief .

"I hope your pack finds joining us a refleif. Remember, there are three meals a day served in the big kitchen. Here at Moon village, we try to keep our pack members healthy and happy. Your young warriors are all set to start training. Please check out all the facilities that are available to you. If you get a chance, stop by our hospital and check it out. I am sure you will find it up to date. Welcome to our pack."Chief Rivers tells Morning Dove.

"Mom, come check my room out. I can't believe it. It's perfect. I am so surprised."Wolfy was saying as she rounded the corner and ran smack into Chief Rivers.

"Well, hello there, sweet child. Let me guess. You must be the bouncy full of energy young lady I have heard about. Welcome to Moon Village. I hope your room is acceptable. We had it done to your mom's specifications."Chief Rivers touches her shoulder.

"Of yes. thank you. It matches my old room and even has a few new things added. I will enjoy it along with the private bathroom and the new bedroom furniture and desk for my school work. I can't thank you enough."Wolfy goes back up to her room, feeling better about the move.

Fawn and Daffy come crashing in the through the door. "Were is Wolfy?We have to tell her about our rooms."They were saying as they scooted through the house.

"I am telling you, Dove. These girls have way too much energy, or we are just getting old."RB laughed.

"Buck came in and asked if they saw the girls. "I was supposed to keep track of them, but they are driving me crazy. Please tell me they are here."

"Come sit and have a cold drink. They are up with Wolfy. Sit and relax because we both know how it is when those three get together. "RB hands Buck a cold glass of ice tea.

"Wolfy, our rooms are so nice. We have new furniture and a study desk for our school work. They are painted the colors we had our old bedrooms. It's so baffling at how they new our colors."Ducky sighs.

"I know how they knew. Our moms told them. Chief Rivers told me this morning when he stopped in. Maybe this move won't be as bad as I thought." Wolfy points to her sky line window.

'Everyone is to eat in the big kitchen tonight. We are going to be introduced to the Moon pack. ' RB mind links each adult.

Buck was getting restless when the girls finally emerged from the bedroom. "I was about to leave you here. Time to go. All of the village is meeting in the big kitchen tonight."Buck reminds the girls. Fawn laughs."Are there any cute guys there?" Buck shakes his head and pushes them towards the door. "See you at the big kitchen."

Arriving at the big kitchen was breathtaking. The size of it was beyond what they had ever seen. Moon Village pack greeted the new members with great enthusiasm.

Chief Rivers stands."We want to welcome Misty Falls to our pack. It's an honor to know our village is noted for its safety among our people. Enjoy the festivities tonight. Please feel free to come and eat at our kitchen anytime. Our cooks serve three meals a day. Let me introduce you to my two sons. My oldest and next in charge is Hawk. My youngest and who is in charge of training the warriors is Standing Wolf."

When Standing Wolf stood up, a sweet smell of honeysuckle filled her senses. It sent chills through her body. Wolfy sat and stared at him. Fawn nugges her."Wow, he's cute. Don't you think so?" Fawn noticed a young guy walk by. "Wolfy, check it out, far left. I definitely am going to like it here." Fawn grabs Wolfys face and turns her head in the direction of the guy. Running Bear notices the girls and nugges Dove."Check out the girls. I think they discovered boys. "Dove, just smirked.

Joining the music and bonfire outside Fawn, Daffy and Wolfy walked around talking to some of the other girls. Hawk walked by, and the chatter between the girls changed. "He's a handsome guy, Daffy, "Fawn points to Hawk. "Yes, he is, and he's going to be the new Alpha or as your tribe calls it, Chief."Rain tells them. "You will learn our language soon enough."

"Our village uses the old law and language. The chief promises you, and he knows who would be in charge of the warriors. "Wolfy tells Rain and Summer.

"Oh no, you poor girls. What if you didn't want that mate. The great spirit has chosen who your mate is. It's a special bond that can't just be promised. It's set in the stars. When we become of age, we will learn who it is. I know our becoming of age dance is soon. I can't wait."Summer tells the girls.

"I don't want a mate yet. My sister lives in the city. I want to go live with her and become a veterinarian. I love working with animals."Wolfy tells Summer and Rain.

Walking by a few of the guys, stop and ask the girls to dance. Standing Wolf was among the guys and asked Wolfy to dance. Looking down, she couldn't find the words to say. Fawn pushes her forward and says yes for her to him.

"Are you always this shy, or are you playing hard to get?"Standing Wolf asked her.

"What? hard to get. I don't think so. I am not looking for anyone."Wolfy spats back at him.

"I guess that worked. It got you to talk. By the way, what is your name?" He took her hand. Small tingles go up his arms, and the scent of sweet wild flowers fills his senses. After the dance, Standing Wolf takes a few minutes to let go of her hand. He knew she was to be his mate, but she had no idea.

"You asked me my name, and I didn't answer you. I apologize. My name is Little Wolf. It's very nice to meet you."

"Nice to meet you, Little Wolf. I will see you in school tomorrow." Smiling, he walked toward the guys who were standing around and talking about the girls. Walking away Standing Wolf feels hot, and his wolf tries to come out. He realizes he is right.She is his mate, and now he must wait til she becomes of age.

Heading back to the kitchen for deserts, the girls talked about the boys and school. Wolfy and them talk about the falls and the project they were doing for their senior project. "The teachers here will except that. They know you were doing things for your senior class, and they told us they were going to accept your projects. They feel it would be unfair not to."Rain tells them.

Spending the night talking with Rain and Summer, the girls were looking forward to going to school tomorrow. Wolfy was starting to understand why it was important for the two packs to join forces. School was starting to sound like it would be fun. Summer was telling the girls about dance class. "It's so awesome. If you take dance class and learn the tribal dances you get out of gym class. But let me tell you. No matter what, you will have to take training class. We have fun in class. Our trainer Opie is cool. She will make faces at you to get you laughing and lose your balance. You will totally like her. "

"Summer should know. She can't stand on her hands very long without falling over. Opie tells her she's bottom heavy."Rain starts laughing, smacking Summer in her arm. Before the girls knew it, the night was ending, and it was time to go home. Parting ways they all made plans to meet at school. Buck finds the girls and tells them about his night. Walking together to the kitchen, they met up with their parents and headed home.Wolfy can't get Standing Wolf out of her mind or how it made her feel when they danced. She could still smell the honeysuckle scent, and it made her feel tingly all over.
