Chapter Thirty Five: Corruption in a Kingdom.

"What is that?" Mia asked as she saw the seer performing some magics.

"This is called multiplier spell. The first one is an item changer trick." The seer answered.

"So, what are you going to do with all this money, the guards haven't charge us the price yet?" Mia asked.

"I'm gonna teach those guys a lesson." The seer went towards one of the Knight who is in charge of billing every person that enters. The 100, 000 credit has been kept inside a big bag.

"Hello here. I want to pay for everyone that enters and leave the kingdom today, can I please know the amount?" The seer asked, the knight raised his heads to see who was talking to him, and he saw that the person is a lady knight in a master Knight's uniform.

"Are you trying to mock me lady? You may be a master knight but there's no f*****g way you're gonna pay for everyone that enters today." The man said.

"Should we place a bet?" Mia barged in and the man saw that she is also in a master Knight's uniform.

'Heck, am I cursed to be challenged by female knights?' The man thought, frustrated by the two ladies in front of him.

"Still, you can't pay the whole money. That's my bet." The man said.

"Okay, we'll show you what we're capable of." Mia said.

"Yesterday, the total money is 150,000 credits. But today is a special day, there would be a slave bidding at the auction house, and many rich and wealthy men will be coming to our kingdom. So, in a quick estimation, we could make 750,000 credits.

"That's way too much."

"How would they be able to pay that much price."

The people didn't think Mia and the seer could pay such an amount, even the man had a smirk on his face.

"We haven't say what will become the outcome of the person that loses this bet." Mia said.

"The person will get slain by the sword in front of everyone or she could choose to become a slave forever to the winner of the bet." The man said, so sure that he will be the winner of the bet.

"Is that all?" Mia asked.

"Yes, so where's your money?" The man said mockingly.

The seer dipped her hands into the big bag she had with her and she started bringing out bundles of 100, 000 credits. She brought out eight bundles of 100, 000 credits, completing the amount as 800, 000 credits.

Everyone was surprised, including all the knights that were at the gate. The man that had challenged Mia and the seer, was scared and his heart was beating fast beyond normal. His wicked nature had became a gentle one. He actually didn't know what to do next.

"So, are you ready for your punishment?" Mia said as she drew the sword that the man had with him in his sheath.

The money was a fake and it won't take up to five hours for it to disappear into thin air.

"Please, please, I'm sorry please forgive me." The man shamefully blurted out.

"I won't kill you yet, since you are now my slave." Mia said as she dragged him towards her horse and had him bound by a rope to the horse.

"No one must collect any money from anyone today." The seer said to the other knights that were stationed at the gate.

With fear of what might happen to them, they all went into the city to report to their master, the king. Only the gate guards are allowed by the seer to stay at the gate.

Every of the people thanked Mia and the seer for their help on getting inside the city without paying a dime. Some of them even bowed to them.

"I feel pity of these people." Mia said sadly. "They had came here to sell their goods, not out of interest but of poverty."

"That's how life is." The seer said.

"Can't we change this life into a better one?" Mia asked.

"Only the supreme being could do that. We just have to do our own part on killing Arthur, the supreme being will choose who will save the world from all problems and difficulty. Our own job is to prevent Arthur from taking over the world. That alone is an Herculean task for us." The seer explained.

They entered the city with their two horses and the slave knight with them. Since the auction begins in the next two hours, the seer had suggested that they should rent a room in the city's hotel.

Apart from the stone Kingdom, the Sparrow Kingdom is the only kingdom that owns an hotel, all other kingdoms have none.

They got to the reception and asked for a room. A young lady in her age twenties, was attending to them.

"The cost of a room is 120 credits." The lady said and the seer told Mia to bring out of the one that King Darwin had given to them.

Mia did so and the lady gave them the key to the room they will be renting. But before they could leave, the lady told them to place their horses in a stable.

"Will we also be paying for letting our horses stay in your stables?" Mia asked.

"No, it is free of charge." The lady answered.

After placing the horses into the stable, they went inside their rented rooms with the slave knight.

They shut the door behind and sat on the chair while the slave Knight was kneeling.

"So, are you married, do you have a family?" Mia asked the man.

"I used to, that was before they were killed." The man answered.

"They were killed?" Mia asked.

"I'm from the Emerald kingdom and I was a very popular man who deals with sword trade. But all that stopped when the king of our kingdom called for me into the palace.

He said that people are reporting to him that I am trying to become the next King. I denied it because I knew that it wasn't true, why would I want to be king when I'm already wealthy. But I know that people are envying me because of my wealth.

The allowed me to leave but after some weeks later, he called for me again, but this time, I was chained with chains into the palace. The knights that brought me said that I'm a criminal."

"As I entered the throne room, the king brought out a scroll and read out the allegations that had been laid on me. But all of it were false, and before I could do or say anything, my three kids and wife were brought inside the palace.

Then the king told them to be executed while I was banned from entering the kingdom forever.

It was so painful seeing my family die like that. But since that day, I never stepped into the kingdom and I had in my mind that once I decide to go into the kingdom, I will avenge the deaths of my family. But, I think my job has been made easier for me, the king of the Kingdom has been captured by the new Stone Kingdom's King." The man explained and he had a smile on his face.

"Are you really sure that you don't want to be king? And all the allegations that the king laid on you are false?" The seer asked as her eyes lit white in colour.
