Chapter Forty Seven: The king's favourite

"Are you sure this is real?" Mia asked, unsure of what she had just read.

"Why are you doubting it?" The seer asked." Just keep reading, you will understand why I told you to read."

"Okay." Mia said as she continue reading the book.

"Because of the promise that theSparrow King made to the other kings, he started marrying wives that will bear him children. He married up to 200 wives and they all bear children for him. But after the children, both nakes were about Thirteen years of age, the king would send them to have battles with the other kingdoms, but in his mind, he sent the children as slaves to the kingdoms. The mothers of each children will await the arrival of their children but unfortunately, they were given news of the death of their children. Actually, the news were all fake.

This kind of situation kept on occuring and none of the queens suspected that something strange was occuring. You know, there is an abundant wealth and a lot of queens to compete with, so, each queen were focused on having wealth more than each other, rather than caring about their children.

It was so until the king married a foreign woman who happened to be from a different kingdom. The king married her because of her beauty, so he didn't have the intention of selling her children as slaves. Out of all other wives, queen pretta is the only lady he ever loved.

But, the king didn't know that that very woman he loved dearly would be the one to put him into trouble.

It wasn't up to two years after the marriage that queen pretta gave birth to a boy named Smith. The boy grew up as a skilled war horseman. He is also skilled with swords. He can fight with swords while riding on his horse and during his teenage years, he is famous for being the youngest swordsman and horseman that ever existed in the kingdom.

All the praises and honours that Smith receives from everyone made the king to like him and his mother, Queen Pretta so much. But Smith didn't feel like he did anything, there is still something in his mind that he wishes to try out but he's afraid to ask the king about it. He is scared that the king will punish or ban him from doing so.

But one day, after a sport competition between the best horsemen took place, and the prince, prince Smith became the winner of the game, the king called for him in the presence of everyone and then, he asked the prince what he really wanted.

Claiming and promising to give him whatever he wanted. That if it is the throne and the crown, he would give it to him.

Smith knew that the throne already belonged to him. He had heard his mother claiming that he is automatically the crown prince and nothing can stop him from being king. So he decided to choose another thing.

After thinking for a while, Smith remembered what he had always longed for, for the past six years.

"I don't think he's going to punish me for saying this." Smith said within himself as he cleared his throat to speak.

"Your highness, since you have said that you will fulfill anything I ask of you, therefore, I will you could keep your promise by granting my request." Smith said and the king nodded for him to keep on speaking. Everyone was there, including all the two hundred plus wives of the king.

"Your highness, what I want is simple and I k kw that you are capable of doing it. Please, can you allow me to wage war against the surrounding kingdoms who often cause many of our people to be dead." Smith requested.

The king was silent as he didn't know what to do anymore. Letting his favourite son and child who will be crowned as king after he's dead, to go out for wars with the kingdoms that are all trading slaves with him, is a difficult task. But because of his promise to the crown Prince, he had no option but to do as he had asked from him.

He made sure skilled knights with great war knowledge and experience were with him when the war plan was made. The amount of war men that followed Smith was thrice the amount of the armies that battles with the other children when they set off for war.

Smith set off for war against the other kingdoms and on his first battle outside the kingdom, he defeated fifteen kingdoms. Everyone was surprised and at the same time, they are happy that their most skillful prince was alive, safe and sound.

It was the first time they would hear that their kingdom won a war against the other kingdoms. They have always been counted as a weak kingdom with less war force and small population of people but prince Smith had changed all the bad comments into a good one in just a single war.

The people hailed Smith as they turned him into their idol, wishing to be just like him.

But, there was something that was bothering the Queen, Queen Pretta. She was unsure if the unsuccessful wars that the other princes and princess of the kingdom fought in the past was just a coincidence or it was all made up. She knew that her son is not the only strongest or skillful fighter in the whole royal families. For example, the king's seventy first children, the first twins to be given birth to, were more skillful than Smith. They were both of opposite gender but they always walk together.

Their solo is unbeatable not to talk of duo. But how come the twins ended up losing and dying at war?

The queen was troubled that she had to call for her son, Smith.

He was shocked and scared when he heard that his mother called for him. He thought that perhaps something strange happened to her, so he rushed quickly to meet her.

"Smith, what if the king is building another force outside the kingdom and he's making up a lie by saying that all his children were killed at war?"
