I watched in disbelief as her eyes started to close, and I didn’t even second guess what the consequences of my actions would be, stepping up beside her and pulling her upright, propping her against the side of my body.

I used my free hand to take hold of her chin, lifting her face so that I look into her eyes, and it came as no surprise when I noticed the dazed look to her features, her eyes covered in an unnatural gloss.
