Chapter Twenty-Two – A Call From The Pack

1612 Words

Adonis’ POV Before I could crash my mouth to hers, a series of howls echoed in the air. I was immediately on high alert. They weren’t just any howls but calls from the members of my pack. They were from Graysdale Village, and I couldn’t ignore them. I wondered what was up now. I restrained Aztec from answering their call. It was quite an instinct among us to answer the pack's howl for help. Marina shuddered and forgot about her pout, scooting closer to me. “What was that?” I was too restless for conversation. My pack needed me and I had to leave. “Wolves!” “Oh! Are they coming here? Let’s go inside, Adonis!” She sprang from her seat, picked up her empty glass, and rushed inside without waiting for me. Another series of howls pierced the air, and I couldn’t restrain myself anymore.
