I could see my statement disturbed her, but it was the absolute truth. Her granny might know about her true identity, but I wasn’t sure why she hid everything from her granddaughter!
“The house has all the answers. I haven’t been to my mom’s room ever in my life. My granny used to keep it locked, and I didn’t know where she hid the keys!” I frowned at the newfound knowledge.
“We can check it out together.” She nodded, readily agreeing to my offer. It made me feel good all over. Maybe she trusted me enough now to include me in her life. Was this an excellent opportunity to tell her about myself, too? But I doubted it! Maybe I would have to wait until she trusted me more.
