As they walked past tall trees, Vin wondered why he hadn't seen this village on his way. He had thought the Temple was secluded from any form of human civilisation for miles and miles. But quickly, they were in a small village. Small residences and peaceful civilians. Children played about, elderly people sat watching the children enjoy themselves, and the rest went about doing whatever. The two men looked left and right for any sign of a potter. Vin's eyes found a store that sold pears. He felt slightly dismayed that he only got to look but couldn't go and buy any. He didn't have any money, so, he could only let his eyes feast while his stomach grumbled. Zonan at his side, caught Vin looking at the pears with such longing, and he rolled his eyes.
