Before he replied, Elan stood up. He folded the scroll in his hand, and put it on a shelf that held several others. He picked out a different one, then said, "You are going to look for something for me, and it's in the woods." Vin sucked in an inaudible breath as his stomach sank. He heard the cryptic undertone that Elan used. Despite himself, Vin said, "Tell me what it is." He thought he had already come this far, searching for something in the woods would only be a slight inconvenience. He still asked, "Why don't you go get it yourself though?" Elan's shoulders deflated as he let out a sigh, "It's unfortunate, I can't leave the temple. Well, unless it is for something official or it's permitted, I can't leave."
