Naya had been looking for her cub everywhere, even if she had told them not to go to Aziza's home, they loved her, and tried to be with her. They couldn't understand that it was dangerous, and that if they went there they could hurt them. She knew who those men were. They belonged to one of the cruelest villages. They had slaughtered several animals in the savanna, not caring if they tore families apart or not. They claimed the animals as trophies, putting them on different parts of the village as decoration. Aziza and her mother were not like that. They cured them several times, and even assisted her during her birth. She had saved one of her cubs from death itself, but when she tried to help Aziza, she didn’t follow her. Aziza wanted to help her mother, and now she was captured. She knew where she probably was, along with her cub, so she went to the village. She had left that place as her last location because she hope Zohar wasn’t there. As soon as she set foot in the village she could feel the evil that lurked within it. She was very perceptive of it, and she didn’t like how it felt. She could also sense Aziza’s power, but now something else was mixed with it. Something cruel and bad… Ever since she met her she knew that something was inside of her, but it was hiding. Now, it seemed like it was trying to take over her. She didn’t like it, and so she had to act fast. She didn’t just need to rescue her cub, but Aziza as well. And so she walked through the village, looking for her two objectives, which were most likely together. Zohar was whimpering, she heard it, and it instantly brought her motherly instincts to kick in. She wanted to rip everyone’s limbs apart for harming her child. But she wasn’t going to act on impulse, no, she had learned a long time ago how to control herself, and that was because she wasn’t an ordinary lioness. No one knew that about her, not even her cubs. It was a great way to disguise herself in this cruel world. But, if you stayed in your beast form long enough, you forgot your human side, and so she had to shift back every now and then. Her cubs, even if she loved them deeply, weren’t the product of a loving relationship. A lion took advantage of her and impregnated her. When she gave birth she realized that they weren’t shifters. Or at least they hadn’t changed up until now, but she had to wait and see if they stayed the same in the future. She wanted to tell Aziza what she was, but didn’t have the courage to do so. Her name wasn’t Naya either, but she had forgotten her real name. When Aziza gave her that name she felt like she belonged somewhere, which was why she constantly returned to her home. She found the place where they were keeping Zohar. He was at the corner, trembling. They had cut him several times, and probably even beat him. He had Aziza’s scent all over him, meaning that she had probably tried to help him. She controlled the growl that wanted to come out, and observed the men surrounding him. They were sitting while they drank something that seemed to be liqueur. They weren’t ordinary people, they were probably the family of the chief or his main warriors. Only they had the power and money to drink such stuff. “Shut up!” One of the men yelled at Zohar. He was whimpering from the fear that enveloped his heart, he was just a baby after all. Naya had to control herself once again, but she remembered the face of the man, and she was going to enjoy killing him. She looked around to see if she could use something to end them, and she did. She found several spears. She now had two options: to transform back and use them in her human form, and use their surprise to her advantage; or to continue in her beast form and set a trap for them. Before she could make up her mind, she heard a piercing scream that came from her cub. That was it, the decision was taken at that moment. She shifted back to her human form and took the spears. She then entered the room where her cub was, making everyone inside gasp. She was naked, of course, but what stood out the most was her eye color. When she turned back she had the same eyes as a cat, and humans often found that disturbing. “What are you?” One of the men asked, to which she could only smirk. The fear of the men could be felt in the air, and she was loving it. “I’m your worst nightmare.” She charged at the men with the spears in hand. Being a lioness meant that she was very agile, and so any attack that the men tried to land on her was obsolete. Naya dodged every attack that came her way, and landed her spear in their flesh in return. She could have ended it quickly, but she decided to play a little bit. They had harmed her son, and that was something that she would make them pay with their blood. One of them tried to take her down, but she jumped up in the air gracefully, and while the man looked at her, she stabbed him in the eye. Her force was so brutal that it passed through his skull and blood tinted everything red. The men looked at Naya with fear, she was ruthless, and she knew how to fight. Deep inside their hearts they knew they wanted to run, but they were not going to act like cowards, and so they did what they could to protect their lives. Fight back. The thing was that they didn’t stand a chance. She was very powerful, and the skill she possessed was something they hadn’t seen before. And so, one by one, they were pierced by the spear. Each death was gruesome, but they had decided to play with a mother, and got what they deserved in return. Once she was done with all of them, she looked at Zohar. He was petrified, and tried to cover his eyes with his little paws. Even if she was his mother, he didn’t recognize her. She knew she had to turn back to avoid scaring her baby, and she did. The problem was that while she shifted, Chike had been lurking in the shadows, and he ambushed Naya, making the lioness lose consciousness. Aziza’s POV This was the last day I was going to treat that asshole. I could finally feel my power completely. I learned that I could break the spell that was in the shackles, and they didn’t even realize it. I was going to take Zohar with me, so we could find his mother. When I remembered him, I felt my blood boil. They had hurt him several times just for fun. They didn’t have a reason, but that didn’t matter to them, they just wanted to hurt him to get to me. Even if I was collaborating with them, even if I did everything they told me, they still hurt him. Sometimes I felt like I was going to explode, that my magic was going to slip, and I was going to kill them all. So I had to remind myself to calm down and continue with the plan, and finally, the day had arrived. As always, Chike came to my cell and took me to his father’s room. I refused to call that man my father, he was just my sperm donor. One of the guards took one of the shackles off, and I started with my magic. I could feel the demon dying inside of him, but I never used enough power to get rid of him completely. No, I was not going to give him what he wanted, and that was to be healthy. If I could, I would insert a couple more demons for them to feed on his body. “But you can do it, Aziza, you just have to let me take over.” You? Yeah right. You are only tricking me. I’m not stupid. The voice inside of me stopped talking. It didn’t like it when I didn’t follow what it told me, and I never listened to it. The intention was clear, it wanted to fool me, but I was not going to let it. I was about to finish the procedure when the chief grabbed my hand. His grip was harsh, and it was actually hurting me, like he was trying to get my bones crushed for some reason. “What the-“ I began speaking, but when I felt the knife pressing my throat I knew I had to shut up. “You are not using your full power, Aziza, why are you playing with us?” When I looked at him, I expected to see anger, but instead he was amused by my behavior. “I can’t use my full power with these shackles, you see.” He smiled at my remark, and I just knew that he was aware that the shackles were doing nothing for me. And so I had to start my plan early. It was time. After this he was going to try something else to contain my power, and I was not going to let him. Everything happened so fast. He tried to grab me by the neck, I broke the other shackle, and the guards came from behind. Big mistake. I concentrated my power around me, electrocuting them as soon as they tried to touch me. The guards fell unconscious, while the chief looked at me enraged. That’s right asshole, you captured the wrong person. “Kill him Aziza, you can kill him now.” The voice started speaking once again. I wanted to end his life. He deserved it, he wasn’t a good person. But, I didn’t want the darkness to consume me, and so I doubted, giving him the perfect opportunity to get inside my mind. “What would the lioness think if I gave the order to kill her cub?” Naya? Was she here? Did he capture her? He knew he got me, and he smirked to prove to me that he had the upper hand. I analyzed his expression to see if he was lying to me, but unfortunately, it seemed to be true. “Chike, bring them here.” His powerful voice resonated all over the room. I saw how he entered with Zohar in one hand and Naya in the other. She was being dragged by a collar which he pulled to bring her into sight. It was cleared that she was drugged, and Zohar was mistreated once again. Aziza lost it. Seeing two loved ones at risk, she decided to do what she never thought. She gave in to the darkness…
